This card seems like it's a block or two late, might've been playable with Undying. But this set the only way i see it being played is with Scavanging Ooze, but there are way better options at the 3CMC slot.
This is the Izzet build that I've been testing recently. I've tested so far against RDW, Boss Sligh, Mono Black, G/W, Junk Midrange, and UW Control and so far the list has done really well against those decks.
I went with those 12 creatures MB over things like Chimera and Pyromancer just because I feel like they're more resilient and can turn into beat sticks at a moments notice. Goblin Electromancer plays well with the Frostburn and Cyclops as well being able to cast spells at "broken" cost then having mana left over to pump a weird or cast more spells. Testing Chimera outta the sb against control swapping with cyclops for continuous pressure. So far in testing I believe this list can compete well with the current meta, but more testing will so follow. if anyone has questions or suggestions please share...thanks
This is what I've been testing so far sb still needs some tweaks but it seems like its coming along. I wanted to play creature threats that are difficult/annoying to deal with. I've test this build somewhat thus far but wanting/needing some feedback if possible on card choices and so forth thanks.
I'm trying Garruk for his flexibility...able to kill something when you need to...generate tokens after a board wipe...seems like more functional cards aren't bad and its friendly on the manabase as well. This could easily become another jace or tamiyo though without a doubt
I've been looking at Bant Control as a possibility for SGC Open series in Cincinnati next week. This list is in mind for an aggro/midrange meta and I'd love any feedback on this
As of this moment I don't have a final SB but Detention Sphere will definitely be in it. I left it out of the MB due to have more non-permanent spell answers and seeing walkers not cracking much of the top deck list as often...side control which doesn't seem to dominate the meta as of now. This could be a wrong call on my part(hence the wanting of feedback ).
The biggest addition is Lingering Souls, it seems way more flexible for early chumps to late attacks. But I'm very open to any MD suggestions as well as sb, dissipate is sort of looking meh at times as well, but I really want to protect myself against rites and control MD. Thanks in advance
Thanks people I'm grabbing up the shocks pretty cheap actually and I have the shamans, decays, and souls, almost got a playset of verdict and i need to snag up the restoration angels. Starting to get back in the swing of things magic related again...thanks again for the help
I've seen cards like geist, resto angel, snappy, delver and Liliana of the Veil being played in modern, was wondering if other cards from stardard can make an impact in modern.
Examples are the money cards like thragtusk and Angel of serenity? Just seeing if I can get the most "bang for my buck" on these Type 2 cards in other formats.
I really think that Inaction Injunction, Faith's Shield, and Feeling of Dread are all better cards than Dramatic Rescue. Personally, I still favor Feeling of Dread over the other two.
I like the cantrip ability of the Injuction but comparing to Feeling of Dread it just detains one creature at sorcery speed while the other "basically detains" up to 2 creatures at instant speed and it flashback as well for the same CMC...so like a halfway cantrip in itself. They both want to do essentially the same thing...but FoD just lets you do it "more". I think that the Injunction shines if you're facing creature threats with activated abilities like Olivia or a guildmage...outside of that..I feel that FoD just outclasses it in their functions in the deck.
Now Faith's Shield seems like it could be almost a meta call card or great sideboard card against targeted removal or red sweepers because FoD could very well be a dead draw against control, but right now the general meta it seems Mid-range and aggro and I feel FoD answers those types of decks at a better percentage than the Shield. Same principle 1 FoD flashbacked can impact the board for 4 turns while Faith's Shield does so for just one(w/o Snappy of course).
And against Mid-range and Aggro, you are the control deck more times than not and you want to keep their "threats" at bay while you peck away at their life total.
Yet again I could very well be wrong but it just seems like Feeling of Dread seems like a good meta call right now in the MD. Just my two cents
I could be cracked out on paint fumes from work lol but wouldn't Feeling of Dread be better suited in the Dramatic Rescue spot? Seems like it would help combat the tusk/AoS craziness plus help you potentially punch through some lethal damage. Also not a bad option if you hit a walker or guildmage.
That's and interesting thought...recently I've been testing Jace, Memory Adept against miracles.. if it sticks it's brutal against them thus far in testing. BTW I've been testing Spectral Flight in the main and have been impressed with it. What's the right number 2 or 3? Also Clone is currently a 2 of in the SB and I like it against Thragtusk and Angel of Serenity, plus spot removal against legendary creatures...I'll post an updated list soon... and please keep sending in the suggestions I know I overlook cards
Inaction Injunction is worth testing for sure. Sorcery speed kinda sucks though and Thought scour does help me dig but I'll definitely test it though.
Snapcaster has been amazing so far, he's probably going to be a fixture in the deck. And War Falcon sounds cool but going knight/soldier theme-ish seems like it might hurt the deck... I can't think of a knight/soldier better than snapcaster, geist or Resto-angel.
But thanks for the suggestion I will test the Inaction
Actually it's been like almost 3 weeks lol...I'm bad about using "minute" for things :-p
But i do see your point, and actually I was running Judge's Familiar and i could possibly go delver, but with only 17 instants/sorceries it doesn't seem very solid. I say that because tamiyo in this deck is a back breaker...The hardest thing for me to deal with can be UWr Miracles and Thragtusk can be a pain too. Surprisingly Zombies seems like a favorable match up, but I won't officially claim that without more testing(3-0) against it today lol.
This is a deck that I've been working a good minute now, So far the testing has been pretty solid...might need some tuning for control Match ups, but without further ado....
The Knight of Glory is basically an assumed meta call...lots of black removal...plus an exalted bonus on a geist is awesome and kinda funny
The Skyknight hasn't been bad at all the potential detain any nonland is great...I've detained walkers a few times... and at worst it's a Vendilion Clique in stats.
Late game azorius charm is nice making your opponents top decks potentially lackluster..not as hot against control though
Just trying to think of 3 more sb slots or cutting a dissipate and having 4 sb slots....
I'll gladly take any advice/constructive criticisms on the deck. Trying to fine tune this baby. Thanks

I really like the spectral flight suggestion might be overall better than something like Scour or Injunction.
The aggro approach seems good but if i can't get the mid range strategy to work I'll go down that route probably, but so far so good (crosses fingers)
Anyone got suggestions to combat Miracle decks or something like Grixis Control? I'm all ears on that
