Is this thread about Shards block or Standard? Everyone said Shards was weak but Zendikar must be even worse if the best archetypes are basically the best Shards block decks. Even in Shards block grixis was the worst followed by esper, and jund was the best followed by naya.
Shards was pretty weak, and pretty awful
Cascade is absurdly strong
Also, to comment on jund: The deck is a pile of good cards, that have little synergy with each other besides being cascaded into via Bloodbraid Elf
Its the best deck in the format, but there is 0 synergy, which makes the deck on a faeries or affinity level
About the only card in the entire 75 I'd even really question is Caldera Hellion, but this is Conley Woods so who the heck am I to say a word?
I can't even comment further. This deck is just pure janky goodness and I felt as though people who don't read tournament reports needed to see it and become a little bit happier on the inside.
boros dude
turn 2 cobra
turn 3 caldera hellion, you have a 4/4 blocker too
again, its a deck based around turn 2 cobra, but the name is magical christmasland, so he knows he needs to be lucky at points to get there
personally though, the cruel ultimatums on the sideboard are hilarious
Meh, i still think Arsonists get all the Girls is better
i'll use this spot to promote too i guess:
Check out Forsaken the Sky and Surrender The Dance Floor
Dance Floor did a hilarious just dance cover thats actually good check it out
So Lorwyn Draft, I'm playing my friend first round, and a few tables behind me i hear someone scream "They'res no way in hell you got 3 Nameless Inversions and a Shreikmaw" *****ing about how the guy cheated. This guy 2 games down from him stops what hes doing, turns around, and says "I passed him 2, calm down".
This wouldn't be such a big deal, if the person who was screaming wasn't a level 3, level 4 judge, who is respected in the magic community, but is possibly the sorest loser i've ever seen playing magic
Reasons for card
Oblivion Ring: Haaaveeee you met Eldrazi Monument
Scepter: Slower than other cards in the deck, but its nice game 1, due to the fact that it can gain life against Jund/Boros, while sometimes taking the Maelstrom Pulse your ajani was going to get. Also, a HUGE part of it, it DOES NOT DIE TO DOJ, unlike Wall of Denial
Elspeth: Better than Rite of Replication all day
As far as House of Leaves goes, it is amazing so far, although sometimes the crazy text arrangment irks me. I know it's artistic, but I like to read when I eat meals, and trying to eat and crane my head sideways is annoying. But aside from that, Danielewski's got me hooked, every time I pick that book up I cannot fathom how much work must have gone into creating it. If he ever wrote anything else I would buy it on the day it was released.
He has a second book, Only Revolutions, its a teenage love story, (try to bear with my description) Its written in a poetic form, reccoemnding you read 8 (or some number) pages of one side, then the same to the other. Its the same form of the poem, but one is from the girls veiw, the other from the boys veiw. Honestly, it started to bore me, but its a really quick read
@Everyone who read game of thrones: is the book worth picking up? What other books (In general, i'm a wide reader) are worth picking up, i have 2 12 hour drives next weekend
