yeah, I kinda figured someone had to have done it before.

    According to Mark Rosewater:
    "
But wait, you say, you've seen some of the material we've put out to entice retailers to purchase Shadowmoor. In it, it claims "a popular mechanic returns." And it does. Although I should point out that a mechanic is not necessarily the same thing as a keyword mechanic. Nowhere does it say that a keyword mechanic returns. Of course, nowhere does it say that the returning mechanic isn't a keyword mechanic (I enjoy expanding the potential space to allow more discussion on the rumor boards). Also, when we say "popular," what do we mean? We do a lot of market research. This mechanic is something that has tested highly in our research. (By the way, this is a great reason to answer surveys that pop up on magicthegathering.com—we really do listen to what they say.)"

So what are the most popular mechanics? We could pretty easily conduct our own research of mtgsalvation and make an educated guess.
There's more than 30 of them hence a poll wouldn't work, so just post your favorite.
If you can post the number so far of people voting for your mechanic i.e. Banding 2 etc.
I know there another thread with a similar theme but this helps narrow it down.

for what it's worth they didn't list changeling as a tribe, but yeah you're probably right. still it's useful enough that I think we'll see it again in a future expansion.

I read the no-lorwyn mechanics as no tribal cards i.e. their will be kithkin (as much as that legends had one amazing kithkin card), but not tribal spells and effects i.e. no Kinsbaile Borderguards. That said, the changeling mechanic is a little to interesting to be confined to one block. I think it'll show up again as much as that transmute made it into Time Spiral block in one instance that I know of Tolaria West and keep in mind the olde Legends of Legends have become staples in almost every block since then. I'd be surprised if Shadowmoor and it's compliment block don't contain a few shapeshifters and maybe one or two with changeling. After all I think their shiftless selves are perfectly suited to the rigors of gothic themed society.

I put 4x Swarmyard in a deck with Brass Gnat and Jhoira's Timebug and found it incredibly usefull in keeping my timebugs in play to remove suspend counters and also great for blocking fliers with the gnat and then regenerating. I'm hoping to build a changing deck in the near future and will probably use it along with Sygg.

I'll look at your list. It's funny the Singaporean guy who distributes magic in Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand was here last weekend for the Morningtide release event. He mentioned in Singapore everyone plays at one spot.
Anyway, search for Bangkok wants and haves and you'll find my list.

    Hey Folks,

    Letter of intro
    name: Andrew Jones
    Location: Bangkok

Anyway, I started playing magic at revised (first new expansion the Dark) at Legends and Phoenix Comics in Houston, TX. Got out of it around Ice Age and back into it around Invasion (aether rift and forsaken city deck) in college in Orlando, FL then back out, and now I'm here in Bangkok and probably more back into it than I ever was (I just joined the DCI for the first time). Anyway, just bumping around mtgsalvation etc. Currently have two decents decks white-blue paradox haze and a black-blue traumatize, beleren, exitrapate, but the later (like most decks with 4x damnation and 4x eye-blight's ending) mostly wins do to excessive creature destruction and the usual huge rares.

Favorite Type 2 Cards: Paradox Haze, Ashling, The Pilgrim, Sygg, River Guide, Chronozoa, Chronomantic Escape (probably the best white card in ages), Grimoire Thief, Time Stop, reality strobe and Sensation Gourger.

Card Most Often Killed By: Dread Return (when used with Bogdan, Hellkite)

Cards I thought would be good, but just get killed to fast and even when they're out don't really work that well: sigil tracer It would be good in the right deck with sygg and then the mana to protect them both, but then you end up spending everything just to keep them in play. sage of fables I've found that stonybrook banneret and fallowsage are much better additions than sage of fables, but I imagine Sage is probably good for others.

Card most intrigued by but unable to build a decent T2 deck with: Spellshift (yes it kinda works with rule of law but your opponent may play the spell hence if they don't it's just shuffled into the library and yeah I know the eye of the storm combo.
