I played 3 tournaments, 3 different guilds- Won all 3.
Fri midnight Pre-release, I like to be different and noone else took gruul outta 30 people So I did, splashed blue for Urban evolution and a few other controlly spells, had double rampager, basically just played tight, didn't overextend, and swept the tourny. 5-0
Sat main event 42 people, Took Orzhov
Pool i felt was god awful, got like no control spells, ended up running boros splash black because of all the great commons i got, madcap skills was the MVP and boros charm is just ridiculous. had a couple bad games but overall was pretty good, 6-0
I skipped the 2H giant event, was kinda magic'd out at this point.
Sunday last chance event- wasnt gonna go but friends wanted me to come play, I was hella tired at this point. . so this was my chance to sweep the weekend, Took Boros. WOW is all i can say, 2 firemane avenger 2 madcap skills 2 wojek halberdiers 2 skyknight legionnaire and a boros charm, had the white 1 drop and a couple skyjeks as well, needless to say this was the easiest tourny ive played in in a while for sealed.
Overall won 66 packs over the wknd, opened 3 gideons 6 reg shocklands a foil shock a domri, aurelias fury, and a obzedat, off the top of my head, so overall a very successful magic wknd for me, and i take pride in the fact i was able to take 3 diff guildpacks to victory, I felt like going in the only guildpact i would have no confidence was dimir.
Me and one of my friends split my midnight with Selesnya, and he was playing azu. the mvps were obviously the 2 trostani's i pulled.with the land, also, the enchantments that make 2/2 vigi guys, both the prevent one damage enchant land and the creature gets +2, +2 and vigi, i basically loaded the deck with token makers, and populaters, i got low a few games but was able to populate/life gain my way to victory. there was hardly a game i didnt end at 50+ life
Joined a couple years ago lol, posted a couple times, stopped playing magic, and oh how i get sucked back in, found out a local place here runs magic on mon and fri actually 20 some people turnout at least, in the great state of iowa lol.
