Why? The card says to search and put on the field. Just like playing a spell that requires you to say, draw a card and deal damage to target creature. If there are no creatures on the field the spell can't be cast.

What's Bolas' interest in Ravnica? Is that where he plans to use the sun on all the planeswalkers? Is he gearing up for a great war with his collection of planeswalkeres and those Ajaini is gathering, plus his army from Amonkhet( and maybe other planes)?

Your first post assumes that Az caused the chaos and that Terry knew of the targeting. That to me seems like a weird jump to make when received a shot of role cop from whoever targeted you. I get that you believe you caught him in a lie in 1125 but the jump to kraken is weird. As is the assumption that Terry is counterclaiming neutral.

Then you seem to attempt to resolve the confusion by clarifying what non factional means before Terry claims he targets you. That wouldn't help you figure out what was happening in the world where you believe you were targeted by lying Azrael.

Huh? Ok I see where I thought Terry was claiming Neutral. In post 1127 he says "Az is definitely lying". I was thinking non town/scum could only target me, thats why I asked

Then there is the seeming contradiction of 1186 and 1294. In the first you say the non factional wording clearing helped you clear up what happened when Terry targeted you, but then you claim you thought Az targeted you till Terry claimed his targets which didn't happen until 1153. You assumed Terry was neutral in 1140.

I'll look these over but I thought I could only gain the ability if a neutral targeted me. Az said he didn't target me, so if he was neutral he was lying.

In post 1137 I asked Terry if he thought Az was scum. If he said yes, to me that would have been confirmation that Terry was neutral.

The timeline is not wonky. If you want we can break down each post to start that day.

Besides, if Ugin went to Ixalan he would not be able to escape and he lacks Tezz's ability to transport the Sun out of Ixalan, he'd be locked just like Azor.

This. It's generally how stories develop, I'm surprised at how intolerant the MtG community is of this. Everyone seems to just be amping for the destination, not the journey. Character development makes a story good and gives it depth and believability.

I'm just going on the fact that he left Dominaria high and dry, not caring for anything but his own people. Now we card a card that he's the hero. Big jump is all. I'm asking about that journey. Just hope its not forced.
