    Hello guys !

    I play 5c humans for a short time, I was on jeskai control before.

    I'll sleeve up humans for the MKM event in Paris and I'll test a list with rest in peace and Stony silence in SB. For this purpose, I think that we need a little more of white mana source.

    This is my current list, what do you think about it ?
    The 20th land help stabilize the starting hands and allow you to have more white mana source for rest in peace and stony silence. Do you think this is viable ? Maybe need I an additionnal multicolour land like city of brass instead of ziggurat ?

    I also will try to play qasali pridemage instead of rec sage. It's better against blood moon and it can have a direct impact on the game with exalted.

    I'm not sure of what I say but with the hard matchup we have against aggro creature decks like B/R hollow one or decks that play BBE should we consider playing ghostly prison? At least 2 in SB can be a good idea I guess.

    I'm thinking about a UW control with 4 ghostly prison and 4 exhaustion and I think that it can be great!

    I think that adding some black for discard will be the best move to protect and help Jace. I'll try to include shadow of doubt spreading seas and at least 2 fields of ruin. What do you guys think?

    I've added shadow of doubt to my UW shell and it's been amazing on MODO. With every deck jamming in jace in there are some very wonky mana bases and blanking a fetch crack is seriously hilarious. It also gives us a better matchup vs both tron types, and gives less ammo to storm.

    Worst case scenario it cantrips, but you can also use it while holding priority for path to deny them that extra land.

    You don't need to go into black though, I agree that discard isn't the best way to go with this shell. We are the deck of card advantage/consistency/finding answers and discard doesn't do that. I've found that doing a +2 for Jace on a deck with a bolt goes a long way with forcing them to use 2 spells to answer 1 Jace. This leads to a major advantage on the board, especially if they have to commit creatures to threaten the Jace.

    What did you cut for shadow of doubt ? I'm thinking that cutting a spreading seas can be valuable because they have more and less the same role, but shadow of doubt can also help against many decks that search other things that a land. Agree ?

    I'm also unsure that I want to play it in Main. I mean it's a good card on the play, but like spreading seas, on the draw it's pretty poor (obviously except against big mana decks for spreading seas and for decks that need to search things in library for shadow of doubt).

    Hello everyone!

    Just got into UW Control recently and I've been trying to figure out how we want to build our deck with JtMS in mind.

    Here's the mainboad I've come up with:

    • Cut Sphinx's Rev, big Gideon and a land for 3 JtMS. Without some of our most expensive spells, shaving an extra land to play the 3rd JtMS makes sense to me.
    • I think JtMS gives us enough card advantage that we don't need Rev anymore, but maybe we should add in maindeck Blessed Alliance for the lack of lifegain? Right now I added in the 2nd Wall of Omens to help protect our Planeswalkers but maybe that should be the Alliance?
    • Keeping Jace, Architect of Thought since a lot of people are saying to play more linear aggro decks to combat JtMS. Same reason to keep Gideon of the trials.
    Otherwise I'm open to any suggestions on how we can craft the new version of UW control.

    I gonna try something like this but I'll keep 25 lands. I'll cut one of the azcanta because of jace.
    For my 25 lands I'll add a ghost quarter and play mystic gate instead of irrigated farmland.

    I don't think that we need some lifegain maindeck and if it was the case, I won't play rev for this reason (usually you gain 3-4 life with your rev and it's the only card with lifegain. It's not enough to counter the very aggro decks because rev comes to late).

    With the addition of jace, I'll play 2 leyelines in SB to protect him against bolts etc.

    Ok I wanna try a list with leyelines in SB and I'm gonna give you my feelings.

    ATM I try a list with 3 spell queller in SB and I have a good feeling about them. In some matchups you can be a little bit more aggro and even when you cast them without counter any spell, a 2/3 with flash and flying is pretty good! I'll post my list here to have your opinions.

    I play UW control since a few weeks but I follow this topic since longer and I don't remember to have seen a list with vehicle.

    I want your opinions on 2 of them :
    - Aethersphere Harvester : in reality I'm not a big fan of this card but with the add of glimmer of genius, the lifelink can help against very aggressives matchups like burn. On my mind burn is the worst matchup for us.

    - heart of kiran : with all the walkers we play I think that it can be a good addition. There's only one problem : you need a walker or a clique to activate them and a clique is not the best solution because you just trade a 3 power for a 4 power wich is bad.

    I also want to try Ojutai Exemplars wich I find quite interesting in this deck. Maybe I should try it with opt in favor of SV for the blink ability. What do you think?

    And what do you think about azor's gateway instead of a second search for azcanta in a deck with Rev and secure the wastes? I'm pretty excited to test a deck like this!

    P. S. Sorry for my bad English and that I didn't link the cards but I'm on my phone and I don't know how to do it from here!

    Hi man! Here are my thoughts about all these cards:

    1 - Aethersphere Harvester: I can't see it playing in UW Control, because we usually don't have enough creatures to crew it. Unless you try a build with more creatures, can't see it working;

    2 - Heart of Kiran: I think this one could work. It becomes better if you play a walker heavy list. The problem with it is you need to have a walker in play for it to work and generally, we tend to prefer cards that are good by themselves. But... I think it could be good if you play a high number of walkers;

    3 - Ojutai Exemplars: I think this one doesn't work really well on UW because we have very little cheap and Instant spells. Even if you trade SV for Opts, I think you still wouldn't have enough fuel to make them work properly. UW usually plays 8 one drops (4 SV, 4 Paths). Most of our 2 drops are Sorcery Speed (Spreading Seas, SFA, Wall of Omens) and the ones that aren't, are counterspells, which can't be played anytime you want. Our 3 drops are Sorcery Speed as well (Detention Sphere, GotT, and Clique, which is a creature). Only on CMC 4 we will have some Instants again, and they aren't good enablers as well (Cryptic Commands, maybe Settle the Wreackage...). Ojutai Exemplars probably works better on Jeskai that have more Instant Speed and cheap spells. Unless you change a lot of things on your build, play a lot of cantrips for example, if possible Instants;

    4 - Azor's Gateway: I think this card has a really powerful effect on the flipped side, but it is too hard to get there in Modern. You need to play it on turn 2, leave one mana open on each of your turns to make a loot effect, you have to pinch different mana costed cards and maybe by turn 7~8 you might have a chance to flip it and make a good use of it, if you happen to have a Rev or a Secure the Wastes in hand. Also, our deck usually has few 3 CMC and 5 CMC cards (usually 2 D. Spheres and 2 GotT, eventually a Clique on 3 and only one GJ on 5), which would make it much harder to pinch a card of each CMC. Also, it would be a terrible top deck later in the game.

    Thank you for your advises I could try a list with heart of kiran. If I do so, I'll post the details and the results here!

    Have you got more advise against burn? I don't know very well how to side against them. Do we have to keep spreading seas in? Their manabase feel pretty weak to play white and most of them also play green so I think that seas plus field of ruin can disturb their gameplan. I've seen some lists with leyelines in side. In my actual meta with a very high number of burn, thoughtseize/IoK, valakut, jeskai burn, I hesitate with that card. But I'm not sure that 2 leyeline will be enough. In my opinion the leyelines should be played in playset to be efficient and I think that we don't have enough space in side for that.

    My second build of E Tron: Click Here
    Thoughts on the lack of O Stones? Sundering Titan is for greedy manabases / big mana decks as well as the additional GQ.

    Edit:
    Endless Ones are an additional target for Sanctum when you hit 7 mana, and are castable during a Blood Moon scenario. Promised End feels like it would be good against decks that would not like being Mindslavered.

    I'm new here and I play eldrazi for a year. I love your idea to play endless one because since I play eldratron the games I lost was against very aggressive decks that can punch you before turn 3 and your first real body (except the games where you can TKS T2). I love the possibility to play endless one as early as T1 or 2 just to chump block and gain time to construct your game. I hesitate to remove 2 matter reshaper for it. What do you think.

    I'm also interested to know what you think about 2 warping wail main deck instead of mind stone. WW is good for many reasons : deal with little bodies like bob, vizier or druidess and some annoying walls, to counter sorcery finisher like living end, past in flammes or wrath of god, it's also a good spell against blood moon and sometimes it can help you to swing everything and still have a blocker.

    Finally can you explain me how to play Karn because I don't see why it is so good? I mean if you can cast it t3 And blow up 2 lands I see the point but in my experience, later it don't help so much (however my cousin play CoCo vizier and I love when he gain infinite life and I restart the game ^^)
