You, sir, need to lighten up a bit. Where's your holiday spirit? The spirit in which we gorge ourselves on tons and tons and tons of unhealthy food.

And that kind of attitude is why obesity is one of America's top health problems...

Ughh there is going to be all types of stereotypes if this thing makes news....

well, hope none of you are too attached to PTQs or GPTs, that is all i gotta say...

Seems like such a kick after all the effort the PTOs did to get us back states...

  • posted a message on Mono Black Rack. Help Appreciated!
there is only one issue i see with the current deck: the title of this thread. Your question was to see if we can help a mono black deck do better. While splashing colors may be good, you kinda killed the point of this being a mono colored deck. This is now more of a psuedo rock type of deck. If you do decide to switch it back to mono color, i can give suggestions....

so, has anyone had any luck playtesting this deck on MWS or real life? I am just one eprson and i said myself that black stax couldn't work.

EDIT: oh buy the way, i did mean engineered plague, sorry.......

i have to admit, i am happy that the gas companies are having to sell at a lower price. They were completely over charging people and now, they are receiving the backlash of the problem they are partly responsible for. I m curious to see how lower gas prices effect the economy...mainly in airlines, taxies, anything that relies on trucks to deliver goods.

Uh, Pastimes is a store, so I assume you're fine. They're also the worst PTO I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with, but hey, a lot of people like them, so they obviously do something right.

EDIT: Actually, Pastimes will probably not be too happy, since Chicago will be one of the 40 cities. Oh well. These things happen.

What the heck are you smoking? Alan was one of the nicest guys i have had the fortune of dealing with. This is an obvious attempt at badmouthing a PTO because i am guessing something didn't go your way....

In my experience, "run by Wizards of the Coast" = "run by PTOs"

I could be wrong, but WotC simply doesn't have the staff to personally run 40 simultaneous tournaments. That's what PTOs have always been about. Unless I PTO states otherwise, I'm assuming the PTOs will be running these events.

I must say, though, 40 events does seem quite low compared to what I expected. It'll be sad for those who no longer get a big event.

The definition was pretty vague as far as who ran what. Curious to see what my PTO thinks of this.

And so many people wrote on these forums they would rather stay at their stores, so why should they have a big pre-release at every state/country?

As much as i want to bash wizards for screwing my lover...errrr i mean my PTO Alan, i am going to take the wait and see attitude. Still willing to discuss this, and still trying to find out how the drafts are going to be done.

How do you figure its a warning? They just took control of the big pre-releases? This shot is the real deal...

From what it sounds like, the PTO's are still free to run their tournaments somewhere else (although, I don't know if there's a restriction in cities WotC is running themselves).

Plus, it's 40 cities over the world, not 40 states.

ughhh, now i am really curious which states aren't going to be lucky.

Slightly off topic, first, the link in the 1t post doesn't work. 2nd, i read the announcement, did it say what kind of draft it was going to be? Shard-Shard-Con or Con-Con-Con?

Maybe you can see how somebody might have difficulty reconciling those two statements. Doing something just to "piss off" your opponent is unsporting, even if you think you're only doing it in revenge of their unsporting behavior.

Ummmm, why are you making it sound like he is the bad guy?

Being a judge, i have to agree that this sounds like USC Major. Since it falls under the category of threatening property. I would also recommend that you try and find another group if possible....

So your recommendation is to punish them all? Would it be so hard for wizards to just replace the PTOs who do need to be replaced due to customer satisfaction? I am lucky i live in IL with Chicago, but i am curious which 10 states are going to not get the big event....

Did I see that right? A WotC-run prerelease in NYC? Show Gray Matter how to run a tournament without being so anticustomer!

No disrespect, but your extraordinarily shallow if you think every PTO is as bad as Grey Matter. I hope you realize that these changes completely cut the PTOs out of the pre-release scene, unless they are a store....

.......How could do they do something so right and mess it up so bad.......? 40 larger events and cutting the PTOs? Maybe i am misunderstanding something, but don't we need PTOs to run PTQs and GPTs?
