I recently discovered my strong tendency to build red decks. The color has a lot of problems, like card draw, protection and the removal is kinda meh. But for some reason, i just really like the style pretty much every red deck i build.
I also like artifacts a lot. My first deck was Breya, though i rebuild it into a Sharuum deck, as i didnt like 4 color. As a result, my favorite decks are red/brown decks. Or monored if you will, but with plenty of colorless support. My current deck is Neheb the Eternal burn.
Apart from red, i like most color pairs a lot. Im not a big fan of green, to me it seems like boring red. And i really dislike Temur. I dont like Izzet or Gruul, and even though i like the idea of Simic value, none of the colors make sense to me. I think it actually has something to do with the color wheel, the colors dont mix well in my head. And combining all three makes it even worse.
So i my new [[Neheb the Eternal]] deck just arrived. Its very cool, and it pulls off stupid combos when Neheb sticks. The problem is my friends are so afraid of him, they remove him the second he comes down. My deck can usually go of the turn i play him, assuming i have a creature or 2-3 extra mana. But I’m bombarded with counterspells and instant speed removal.
So the question is how to keep my opponents from messing up my plans. I currently run [[Conqueror’s Flail]] and [[Price of Glory]]. I can tutor the flail with Godo if need be. But i feel i need some other cards as well. [[Cavern of Souls]] is way out of my price range. Im considering [[Eldrazi Monument]], but the deck doesn’t actually run all that many creatures.
I could really use suggestions! Its not reds thing to protect creatures, but I really need to do so anyway. Before anyone suggests to have a stronger backup plan, thats not the point. I my plan is to not actually play Neheb, I might as well play another deck.
