I was playing a game where I had 3 Vault Skirge attacking. My opponent had a Wedding Ring on his side with the token on me and he was at 1 life When combat damage hits would he lose to combat damage before the lifelink triggers? I am pretty sure he does but I need to confirm it.
I am sure I know the answer but if Goldspan Dragon is countered, does it still create a treasure? Could you point me to the proper section that describes why or why not?
I have always wanted to build a deck using creatures such as Maggot Carrier and Howling Banshee. It wasn't until the release of Jumpstart that I put it to deck. It is a fun little deck that I enjoy playing from time to time. It isn't an overly powerful deck but it is fun to play. I changed the deck to utilize death triggers instead of ETB triggers.
The obvious question is "Why isn't Exsanguinate? Budget. I wanted to keep this deck budget friendly. I wanted it under $20 dollars. Seeing that most of these cards are considered ok, the deck (without the lands) cost $19.50 (buying mint cards).
Using Altar's Reap keeps you drawing some cards while Victimize Brings back 2 creatures to sacrifice again to Ayara, First of Locthwain or Bone Splinters.
Yurlok only cares that a player loses Mana. If a player doesn't spend it, they lose it. Mana short and Drain power causes a player to lose that Mana triggering Yurlok. Shizuko adds that Mana and it will trigger Yurlok of that player doesn't use that Mana.
I was wondering how the Amass mechanic on cards like Herald of the Dreadhorde works with cards like Conspiracy. when the token enters the battlefield, Conspiracy changes the type. Does the token still get the counters since the creature is no longer an Army? I am still confused with the layers.
A while back I realized that there is always a few cards in blue, in EVERY set that has an effect like Frost Lynx. Since I had a ton of these cards sitting there collecting dust, I decided to make a deck out of it. It turns out to be pretty annoying to play against and it has 2 game enders. Just a little junk deck I like to be annoying with at times.
Put simply, it is meant to keep things tapped down. Guardian of Tazeem lets me use my lands to tap things. Niblis of Frost Nets me extra taps while Verity Circle helps keep my hand full. Tromokratis and Breaching Leviathan are heafty threats that end games. Tromokratis is a perfect fit in the deck and the Leviathan just taps nonblue creatures. Quite a pain in the neck to play against.
Tortured Existence or Haunted Crossroads may be a good fit. The Crossroads can protect you against decking yourself, just tap out at the end of your opponent's turn to stack your deck.
I built a deck a while back based on usingNecromancer's Stockpile to draw cards, make zombies and kill my opponent's creatures. So far this deck has held it's own in a multiplayer setting. beaters are the tokens and Lotleth Troll. Here is my current Decklist.
Necromancer's Stockpile keeps giving me zombies and cards to feed to the stockpile. Veilborn Ghoul keeps coming back to be discarded to make zombies and draw cards. Achfiend of Ifnir keeps my opponents from having an army of tokens and keeps their armies under control. I am going to find better cards in place of Dread Return. I am replacing Tainted Wood witth Zagoth Triome to keep the Swamp subtype bringing the Veilborn Ghouls back. I tried adding Grave Pact but I didn't want to take the deck in that direction thus the Archfiends. I am thinking of replacing 3 Brain Gorgers with 3 Bone Misers and the last Brain Gorger with 1 more copy of Gravecrawler. I thought maybe of trying to fit in 1 or 2 Diregraf Ghoul but I am not sure yet.
I am working on a deck that uses A couple of the Skaabs and creatures you can cast or put on the battlefield from exile. This isn't a powerful deck and I haven't tested it yet but the idea is simple. get Skaab Ruinator using creatures such as Eternal Scourge and Misthollow Griffin and with those in exile, it is almost like I have extra creatures in my hand. Here is the decklist
Like I mentioned, I haven't been able to play test it yet. It is a rough draft so far and I am going to need to adjust it as I play it. Disciple of Griselbrand gets me life and gets my exilers in the yard to recast Skaab Ruinators. I am open to suggestions. I do have a budget so expensive cards are a no go.
I am just coming out of a hole and heard about the new commander rule. If I have Athreos, Shroud-Veiled on the battlefield and I put a coin counter on said commander, when it dies, would it re enter the battlefield under my control?
I wanted to know how Kykar, Wind's Fury would work with auras. When I cast an aura spell, would I be able to attach that aura to the spirit token I created by casting that aura?
Fixed Kykar's name for tags to work. -MadMage
