The only current card limit I know of is you have to be able to shuffle your deck unaided or do you mean the number of a named card?

The Commander's Ban List is the only format list that does not affect Core Magic/Core Set Constructed.

Magic Origins is considered as a Core Set for this Format since at the time of it's release it filled the spot thematically of a Core Set.

So a few years ago I thought of introducing a new format to the community. A format that would limit the number of cards, and still allow for both old and new cards to be used together without being overly expensive. I cane up with Core Set Constructed a still untested idea that allows the use of cards only printed in a Core Set. This let's you use both old cards and new cards without worriyng about the more expensive cards printed in expansions. Now you may be wondering what about cards like the Power Nine? Simple Core Magic will follow a combination of all Ban lists any core set exists in. This means that if a Core Set card is banned in modern, but not legacy it will remained banned in Core because Core Magic is a more Limmited format than Legacy. So now that Standard in getting a new Core Set next year now is the perfect time to finally share my idea with the community. I should add that "rotation is like legacy all Core Sets including Alpha, Beta, Unlimited are legal the only difference is Cards listed on an actual Ban List.

UPDATE00.1 Minimum Deck size is reduced to 40 cards to make the format feel more like old Magic. This change also reduces the maximum number of an individual card to 3 copies (excluding of course Basic Lands.) All other rules including opening hand size follow Wizards if the Coast constructed rules.
