I really hope they go back to the old way of storytelling (you know, the free one), after the *****show that was WAR i'm never buying another MTG Novel ever again.
Esper Control is already the most annoying thing in standard, and now with this new God mechanic, Esper it's probably going to be the only playable deck.
Still too much cityscape for my taste. Just show m ea bunch of trees for "Forest", a wide expanse for "Plains" and so on.
It's going to be rough if they rotate out current and older basics in decks in Arena and I have to use these.
Are you at all familiar with Ravnica ?
Did you really expect them to put a "wide expanse for plains" in a world where there is no such a thing?
We're about 5 years away froma RtZ, you know that right?.
EDIT: Also without the Eldrazi is there really any reason to go back?. I know Zendikar was the adventure RPG world before being the Eldrazi world, but many would agree that Ixalan is a much cooler a "fun" adventure world.
Now the Eldrazi much like Phyrexians are fan favorites, and we know that Ulamog and Kozi weren't really killed, only their avatars were, so there is a chance we could return to Zendikar and use the suggested theme of Relics as a way to uncover the truth about the Eldrazi kind and introduce new Eldrazi Titans to the story.
But my guess is Zendikar is just going to become Shandalar 2 and be this place we visit in core sets.
Niv, Etrata, and Lazav are great. Emmara, and Izoni are meh. Aurelia is pretty bad as a commander and while it’s possible Tajic is good I’m not holding my breath, but what do you expect from Boros?
Also maybe stop baiting? “Oh this sucks” statements with no explanations about your opinion don’t contribute anything to the conversation and make you look childish.
I didn't care to explain because i thought it was clear as day, NiV is basicallyNiv-Mizzet, Firemind that can't be countered, to be honestly i don't know why they just didn't reprint him, it would be a lot easier for them. Etrata and Lazav aren't great, they do have potential (as standard cards, maybe Brawl) but my post was about EDH.
Niv is the only legendary creature in the set in which i would actually use, simply because if you can get him on the board along with the Firemind, you can do some crazy stuff, but the other card aren't good even as part of the 99, the perfect example of this is Emmara, in standard she has potential (if GW aggro becomes a thing again) but she is useless in every other format, and for me that is a problem simply because she is legendary, most competitive players don't care about the lore, on the other hand a great deal of EDH players do care about the lore, and legendary creatures (Generals) are the most important characters in the lore along with walkers, if WOTC wanted they could've made her into a good general, or at least as a part of the 99 in a token deck, tokens being you know, the Selesnya thing?.
Anyway, there's no point in ranting about it, it's already set in stone, like i said in a previous post, WOTC has nothing to gain by designing cards for eternal players, 99% of their money comes from standard players who like buying boxes and sh**.
I was so hyped for Rav3, but it seems like the set was designed for T2, and as we all know for every good card in standard there are another 270 pieces of trash, at least you guys are going to have some fun playing with these atrocities you call playable, the art of Rav3 is great though.
That's four so far halfway through just one set and I'm sure I'm forgetting something else. At this rate it's more than the average set so I don't know what you're complaining about. As a Modern player I'm embarrassed how often eternal format players complain so much about "Standard" cards.
Trophy? sure, the wannabe Finks won't see play simply because none of the G/W decks need it (Humans, Bant Spirits, Naya Burn) all of the other GW decks are below tier 2, if Knight of Autumn ends up being cheap it may se play in budget Little Kid but thats about it.
When i made that post i was salty because i waited 5 years to see my fav characters again (Trostani, Emmara and Teysa) but after some thought, it's all cool. MTG is sustained by standard players, WOTC has nothing to gain from eternal formats, so there's no point printing cards for them.
At least players with less money or in not so fortunate countries will be able to buy shocklands now (in theory).

Literally nothing about Trostani's new card makes me think "discordant". Where is that name coming from?
Maybe it means like the three arent agreeing on stuff? They dont look particularly harmonious in the art. Might be they are fighting about what they should do in this time of ravnican politics and threats? Or maybe bolas is fiddling with thier minds
My guess is they're disagreeing with Mat'Selesnya.

The only thing that is know is that Guilds is be set in autumn, end of the story.

Nope
It took you a few years to figure that out.
