My main concern with building sultai/grixis shadow in legacy is if its at all a good deck in legacy right now. Everyone that I've talked to that has actually played it says that it was average to very bad when they tried it.

Edit: after thinking about it, what I'm hung up on is basically, is grixis delver worth it? If I know there's multiple legacy decks I'd like to play, is it worth it to build grixis delver over let's say, miracles, stoneblade or UR delver?

Hey, so I'm a mainly modern player looking into getting into legacy. I played in the standard portion of GP Seattle and got sort of introduced to legacy and it seems like a format that I should learn. The decks I play and enjoy in modern are Grixis death's shadow (my main and favorite deck), Jeskai control, Jeskai tempo, UW control and RW burn. I find all of these decks fun to play, but I don't like UW control and burn as much as grixis death's shadow and jeskai. I haven't proxied that many legacy decks simply due to time constraints, but I have tried UR delver, show and tell and sultai control. UR delver and sultai control were fun to play, show and tell wasn't as interesting for me. I enjoy blue tempo, midrange and control decks in general, with a preference towards tempo and midrange.

My budget is basically the cards I already own plus $230ish, but I have around $1000 in cards that I'm not playing that I can sell or trade. So I guess my budget is more like $1230. I also have a fairly large collection that can go to this. https://deckbox.org/sets/1734570?s=i&o=d

(Basically the modern decks I listed earlier, plus 4 force of wills, 1 volcanic island and 1 tundra)

I will be playing in competitive metas and the deck having the capability to do really well matters to me.

So the decks that I am considering building into are UR delver, Jeskai/UW stone blade, miracles, legacy death's shadow, grixis delver and sultai control.

Grixis delver and sultai control both would be a stretch for my budget and I'd definitely have to make some cuts to the standard lists. I would also have to go through a lot of effort of selling my current unused cards to build either one. If anyone has any suggestions on cuts to make to those two decks in order to make them cheaper that would be helpful. I'm also slightly concerned with building into either of those decks with all the talk of banning deathrite shaman, but due to most of the cards being format staples i'd probably be fine with just taking the risk. I'd rather play a deck I enjoy and win with that also has the possibility of being banned, than a deck I either dont enjoy, or dont do well with.

Miracles looks extremely complicated and I'm intimidated by the full-out control playstyle, despite having some experience with UW control in modern(much simpler than miracles). I am much more confident in my ability to play grixis delver or UR delver as I have put so much time into playing and trying to master grixis death's shadow in modern.

I should probably just keep on proxying and trying different things, but I was kind of curious if any of you people had suggestions on what I should do next here.

Mainly because I have so little cards for it. It feels bad to build affinity for $650 when I could build dredge for $150 or abzan for $250. But affinity is definitely a deck I've been thinking about building as I used to own it but traded it/gave it to a friend.

I've been thinking about abzan, that's a good point tho that it won't be much different that 5 color shadow.

Hey, I've been playing death shadow varients for a while, as well as burn, and I'm looking for something new. I'm still very much in love with death shadow and will probably main it for the foreseeable future, but I really dislike playing burn and I want to trade it off or sell it for a different deck. I was hoping you guys would have some recommendations

I own burn, 5 color death shadow and grixis death shadow.

I usually enjoy midrange. I dislike hard control as I like to have some questions in my deck. Tempo decks are also very fun.

Decks I've enjoyed: affinity, grixis death shadow, 5 color death shadow and (standard: GB energy, GB delirium, Sultai energy and temur energy).

Decks I've not enjoyed: burn, GX Tron, and UW control.

I dislike playing burn because I feel very frustrated playing the deck and like I'm not given many choices.

I'll be playing up to a GP level, although I'll probably just run death shadow, but maybe not. Either way I'd prefer if the deck was competitive.

Just looking for some suggestions, maybe there's a deck a haven't considered much

Thanks a lot for the advice, it was very detailed. Ya so I'll definitely be keeping the promos for now, and I'm selling the canopy. I'm still on the fence about if I should sell(trade/sell) my lands or not, but I'm definitely going to be trading away alot of my nonland cards

I've built up a lot of modern staples and I'm unsure what I should do with them and I'm concerned with how much WOTC has been reprinting cards recently. Do any of you have some suggestions of what I should do? Are there specific cards that I should not sell? I'm thinking that I should not sell my expeditions and promos, but is there anything else I shouldn't sell? Or should I not be selling anything at all?

I'm in no urgent need of money, so I can wait, but I don't know if I should.

Heres my inventory, I have two decks built and they're included in this inventory, but most of it is unused: https://deckbox.org/sets/1734570?s=i&o=d
