Lol what I said came off wrong. Ashiok is a great contributor the fighting is just annoying. Sorry

Is heroic intervention really worth a sb slot? I get that it’s good vs. a verdict but that’s one matchup that’s already decent

You are militant and overly defensive tho.

I think you make good points about the deck but your attitude rubs people the wrong way.

I will check it out. The merfolk community in general is extremely defensive because pros hate on the deck constantly and whenever one of them streams with it they play it entirely incorrectly and are like "why does anyone use this?!?!?". Maybe we all have complexes because of that. I've learned to ignore it for the most part. I remember that "top decks in modern" article where I'm pretty sure we were ranked behind slivers, living end, hexproof and other decks no one even plays anymore. The least we could do is not hate on each other.

The reason the arguments are happening is because the splash is so new and couple people here are militant about it. You make a good point about it being a preference thing. Earlier in the thread rothgar (who has great contributions all the time) said the decks were so similar that there could be all encompassing conversation about them. Having played both, I kind of disagree. For example I play blue because it’s less “all in” and while still an aggro deck, feels more like the midrange/tempoish approach that I’ve always enjoyed playing. Honestly, I don’t splash green because it’s too aggressive for my taste and don’t enjoy it. I think it is strong but more of glass cannon than U and I just hate losing with decks like that. I also play control which is telling. I think I good topic of discussion when comparing the decks for someone looking to pick the “better” one would be a meta game examination to decifer if the more aggressive or more midrange version of the deck is better positioned.

Has anyone been considering a return to remand? I see a lot of jeskai and while it isn’t a bad matchup remand is just so good against it. I also like it against storm . I’m thinking 1:1 mb:sb . I’m on U btw

I don't think hand disruption is strong against us. Our deck is so redundant. I mean hand disruption is just strong in general but not especially against us.

True but it also can't fly which is relevant sometimes on a stalled board or dealing with affinity game 1. I'm so excited to with play both on the board next week though !

How would you and everyone in general feel about a retry for remand . It might have pretty good game against valakut as I often feel just a turn off from killing them.

Stroke is there for valakut but I like it against tron and eldrazi too. Negate is sort of an online card in that it counters random crap I see all the time . You are right I have too many counterspells but idk how to leverage against things without them. I've liked gut shot in the past so maybe I could consider cutting negate for it and running 3. That kills me for the burn matchup though. Perhaps I could circumvent that by running snag instead of dismember MB. I'm higher on snag than a lot of people anyway. I've tried unified will a lot but I think that card is just awful for us especially with all the spot removal nowadays.

Been grinding leagues lately and my SB seems particularly stretched. I'm at 3x Rejection, 2x Stroke 2x Negate 3x Dispel 3x Relic and 1x Dismember (2 MB). Thinking about going to a 4th rejection or possible 3rd Negate or maybe a singleton flashfreeze but am unsure. THoughts?

Yeah I'm a fan of his as well. I was thinking more in the twitch realm of live streams where we could chat. It would be informative but also pretty fun imo. I'd totally do a few but I'm barely an above average league grinder haha.

Who here streams? Having just started to grind leagues on MTGO hard I'd like to be a part of the streaming community if there is one. I like Nikachu's videos but it would be more fun to chat with the pilot.

I think people just don't think the green splash will improve the archetype.

It would definitely be cool to try! The reason I'm not into a splash could be because of how much higher I rate harbinger and master of waves then you do. I don't like running less Than four of either and prefer cutting rejerrey in their place for interaction/Kira/clique/copter. Adding a color make both significantly worse . We definitely agree about being excited for kopala though. I can see running out some number of both him and Kira because the removal is all over the meta right now.
