First time posting on here. Awhile back I had ideas for cards that I never really shared with anyone, they were mostly things I recalled from weird dreams I was having so here comes a bunch of random stuff.
Back Track 2UU
Instant (R)
Split Second
Return all other spells cast this turn from anywhere to there owners hand. Each player gains life equal to the amount of life lost this turn and loses life equal to the amount gained this turn. This change of life can not be prevented or redirected.
Burning Greed R
Sorcery (C)
Draw three cards, then choose and discard one.
~ deals 1 damage to you.
Countermeasure 2UUU
Instant
You may exile two blue card from your hand instead of paying Countermeasures mana cost.
You may choose new targets for target spell or ability.
Degraft UBR
Enchantment
Choose a keyword, creatures your opponent controls loose and can not gain the chosen keyword.
Sacrifice a creature: If the sacrificed creature has a keyword, return Degraft to it's owners. Activate only as a sorcery.
Déjà Vu 3UU
Sorcery (R)
Exile all spells that were cast last turn. Until end of turn all spells exiled this way gain "Pay three life: This spell gains Flash and can be played without paying its mana cost".
If ~ would be put into a graveyard from anywhere, exile it instead.
Faustius the Impersonator 3WW
Lengendary Creature — Human Advisor (R)
Tap ~ and one other creature you control: ~ becomes a copy of a tapped creature your opponent controls and gains "During your upkeep reveal two lands from your hand, if you don't, return this permanent to it's owners hand".
2/4
Glacier
Basic Snow Land - Glacier (C)
T: Add C to your mana pool
Shimmering Merfolk 1UU
Creature — Merfolk Shaman (U)
Phasing
When ~ phases in choose a land type in play. All permanents withe the chosen type phase out.
U: Return ~ to it's owners hand.
2/3
Vedalken Summoner 1
Creature - Vedalken Wizard
U, discard a card: Add 1 to your mana pool. If this mana is used to cast a creature spell, that creature can activate mana abilities as though it had haste. Draw a Card.
1/2
Zuritan, The Last Temple
Legendary Artifact Enchantment Land - Island Shrine (M)
Colour Identity Black and White.
As ~ enters the battlefield choose a demon in play. Destroy that permanent it can't be regenerated.
When ever a creature an opponent controls dies, exile it at end of turn.
I'm sure you can use reprints, it's more only cards that were legal in those particular block+core combinations. So say you pick the following timelines:
Innistrad/Dark Ascension/Avacyn Restored/M13
Theros/Born of the Gods/Journey into Nyx/M15
You can use a M10 Acidic Slime since it was printed in M13 as well but not Acolyte of Xathrid since it was only printed in M10.
As to your second point, potentially. It really comes down to the deck, Ad Nauseam combo needs many cards from random places and I'm unsure of the viability of Affinity since I think there are a number of key cards from Mirrodin Block not just Mirroden Besieged.
Three, I don't know. Maybe it can be op in some situations, but I wouldn't know.
If I recall correctly 1/5 the deck was lands with random effects, odd timing, strange interactions, along with one of the 6 basics and the 5 snow-basics for basic matters and snow matters effects
Immortal Coil is great cause you can lose by making a misplay OR by not making a misplay. Spellweaver Volute is particularly mean when you must maintain graveyard order.
