That new, agenda-pushing, judgmental, close-minded, propaganda-buying, soapbox-dwelling article is the real problem, actually. It should be deleted. This is a card game forum. Leave your political garbage out of here. The obvious skew against the right/Trump/conservatives is reprehensible - but I expected no less from a "discussion" where the mods already outlined and enforce what opinions we're allowed to have. Not surprising, from socialist liberals. Which is why I didn't bother with this thread at all outside of complaining about the most recent article. You want to make snide jabs at Trump tapes and riots about white heritage (where the other side threw the first punches)? Let's go ahead and address Hillary's fraud, Benghazi, USA's Uranium, Whitewater, and just what was on those iPads before hammers got involved. Let's chat a bit about Pochahontas and her newest reincarnation as Sen. Elizabeth Warren who plagiarized a French chef's recipe and published it as her own. So she's French Cherokee, got it. Let's talk Bill Clinton's lovely escapades or his impeachment and the gender of the intern involved. Or how Hillary attacked his female victims as his lawyer. You see? Where does it end, then? And at what point is the focus on Christine Sprakle and Jeremy? Don't bother trying to bring morality to politics. The Left isn't any better about women. If anything, possibly worse. Mono-White villain mentality at its finest there folks - at least the Right is honest about its stances.

Using Christine Sprankle as a pawn into pushing political agendas in a card game community is an embarrassment. I can see how you might like to justify that given her nature as a Cosplayer, but this is not the place, and your opinions are not the only way to think, despite how hard you're all willing to believe that. Typical internet mind-numbing trash - whites are all racist neo-Nazis, Trump is Hitler, men are wicked and women are all victims. Leave all this trash out of here and address the actual event - Jeremy and Christine - not Trump, not Hillary, not recent political events that no one here even understand - as clearly demonstrated by the article.

In summary, leave Fake News and its labels to CNN and other outlets.

Oh, and for the record, if Locker Room talk from those questionable Trump tapes is really what you consider worth mentioning about the President of the United States of America who has been doing an outstanding job running the world's leading country and staying true to his promises, than I am glad I voted the way I did.

I'm not sure what to make of this post. I agree with the "leave politics out of this" bits at least.

I think the indestructible comes from his trying to emulate the Stoneforged Blade token created by Nahiri, the Lithomancer's ultimate on some level.

I'd probably increase the mana cost and/or the equip cost if you want to keep it the way it is.

We already know that Sun will be taken by agent of Bolas. Who cares about the city?

Do we? This time, Bolas' plan seems far from foolproof, since he relies entirely on Vraska casting the spell at the right time. And remember that Jace, being the Guildpact, is capable of providing all that Bolas promised her. Jace randomly walking to Ixalan might, unlike the conscious effort of the whole Gatewatch, actually throw a wrench into Bolas' plans...

And considering Bolas is the one who caused Jace to end up on Ixalan in the first place, you could say that Bolas threw a wrench in his own plans, which is hilarious.

Edit : And the fact that the Vampires want the Sun to sate their "addiction" sort of undercuts the empathy because it just sort of means they want the Ultimate High and they only got addicted in the first place to get the Sun back in the first place.

I don't think the sun really functions as an, 'Ultimate High,' in this instance. It's more along the lines of say dealing with an addiction by utilizing a substance that binds to the same neuroreceptors (preventing/reducing withdrawal symptoms) but doesn't cause a high and carries a far lower risk of overdose.

Also, consider that they initially took on their addiction because they had failed in their job to protect the sun and were trying to fix that. It's a variant of the idea of somebody taking any means necessary in order to reclaim their lost honor. Granted I don't think was portrayed well with Vona (who was unfortunately the main vampire we observed so far), but Elenda certainly seems set up for that direction.

Vona is an odd case. If you look back at her backstory, she actually likes being the bloodsucker that she currently is, and has been using the mission as an excuse to satisfy her bloodlust.

Hopefully Elenda helps to make the vampires more sympathetic in some way within the story.

We don't know that actually. Vraska could very well change her mind.

It's possible that Bolas will get it either way though.

i don't understand why this counts instants/sorceries that have been exiled, but other than that, seems good.

It's really because of flashback and other similar spell mechanics. This is meant to be a "reward" of sorts for spellslinging.

I thought it was disengaging that such an important point of the story could be up in the air and inconsequential to the conclusion. It kinda makes the whole argument that the city be important entirely moot.

So I guess it means that the fate of the Eternal Sun is to be whisked away.

To be fair, I don't think the fate of the city and even possibly the Eternal Sun is unimportant to the fate of Ixalan

However it is likely that the fate of Ixalan is unimportant to the greater magic story, this is an isolated world with an anti-planeswalking device on it, its fully possible that after Jace and the other PWs escape that the Eternal Sun might be used to seal of the plane completely so that Bolas or whatever evil forces might want its power can't get it

While I understand the frustration that Ixalan is kind of like a filler story, I also like going to a plane for once that wasn't filled with references to other characters and planeswalkers, that I didn't think to myself, I wonder what they are gonna do in 5 years during Return to Ixalan, I don't mind Ixalan being a stand alone plane and a bit more of a stand alone story, its a nice change to have occasionally

Considering there's an entire continent on Ixalan that we haven't even seen yet (it's not even on the map), I think I'd like a return if for no other reason than to have events take place on Torrezon, especially if those events involve the pirates attempting to take back their homeland from the vampire regime.

I still think that they were trying to emulate Mirari's Wake to a certain degree with the non-walker-centric abilities, since the cost reduction has a similar impact to mana doubling, and the Anthem effect is self-explanatory. Also, the events surrounding both Mirari and The Immortal Sun have a similar tone.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying that The Immortal Sun has anything in-universe to do with the Mirari.

I don't think the MTG community is toxic per se, but the YT community is becoming a cesspool of weird people focused on trolling and click-baiting.

I feel like eventually Tolarian Academy will become Pokemon Center, Mana Source becomes Energy Source, The Command Zone becomes The Bench, and so on.

    I don't think they'll all follow Seiben's lead.

Well, since two people suggested it, I guess it can't hurt to have the ultimate still spawn Story Scrolls and have the free cast from library shift to an emblem.

    1. The harassment was definitely not the sole factor in Christine Sprankle leaving the MTG Community. In fact, she has endured much, much worse. It's a problem with Cosplay in general. I went to a convention once, where there were cosplay women. I admired their work, complemented them, and for some others I even complemented them as to how beautiful they were as well. I know my comments weren't taken to a sexism, or male stereotypical creep. There is a way, and a socially polite method of simply giving those compliments and going about your business, or attempting to politely meet up in future social events. I met up with some of these women at an after party, I was told what I did was relieving for them. I truly felt that sad at that moment, that just basic dignity and politeness were something rare these women see.

This might sound a way, but I think that if I were bold enough to dive into cosplay, I'd go into it with the full expectation that people would treat me with disrespect as I can't think of many cultures that are kind to adults donning costumes outside of specific events or holidays.

    I could be wrong though.

This statement bothered me since it was posted. Disrespect can be expected anywhere but it doesn't have to accepted at any time.

You may not have intended to, but your statement seems to imply that cosplayers are somehow lower on the proverbial pole than strip club dancers. Strippers garner more respect and often employ bouncers to remove patrons who are disrespectful. Who do the cosplayers have?

No I did not intend to, and I'm aware that disrespect can be expected anywhere.

Even though I think that on a very base level, there is some nefarious double-edged victimization going on when you, as an attractive woman, choose an easy, high paying, self-deprecating job posting selfies or seminudes or nudes on the internet, which adds an additional deception layer when you are a cosplayer who might even have no interest in the subject matter but are there to birth your own easy money... its unwise to think you're going to convince anybody, especially on Twitter in an argument. And you know what? It doesn't matter enough for you to care, and that's good enough for me not to go around harassing people. Live and let live, you know?

Considering Sprankle actually played the game on a Game Knights episode of The Command Zone, I'm inclined to believe she has some interest in the subject matter.

The rest of this I'm currently not in a position to confirm or deny.

Why doesn't Udrona have p/t? I like the playing with mana in your mana pool idea but this will confuse the heck out of the average player. Probably fine.

A three mana deathtoucher is fairly reasonable even with additional keywords, but why align this ability to Bant? Just curious no real critique.

For colorless to destroy/exile any permanent it should probably cost 7 like the previous examples. Skipping your turn feels like a reasonable balance to hitting an additional permanent.

Did the Bant creature have the ability it currently has at the time you made this post? Because otherwise, it seems he was trying to make it Bant-y by giving it "tucktouch" as opposed to actual deathtouch.
