Also of note, a very classic mono blue tron list took 2nd at a 240 person Face to Face games open recently. Very encouraging to see people putting up good results with the deck!

@topkyle Nice!!! I'll be coming up from Chicago and slinging Mono U Tron as well. Just got my pimped out (full art) Ugin too.

I'll be at SCG Milwaukee as well repping U Tron in all it's glory! Maybe we will run into one another for the mental marathon that is the mirror

played a comp league with U tron just now, my first in a bit, cause i wanted to try RayFuturePro's list that posted a few 5-0s recently (with a few modifications to my liking, i cant put Solemn simulacrum in a list) ... but yeah, went 5-0 myself!
    played vs:
humans, merfolk, titanshift, URcontrol, hollowone roulette
    card notes:

torrential gearhulk felt good everytime i saw it (1/1 snapcaster split) first time actually trying it, lol.
supreme will also felt good everytime i had it.
buried ruin won me a game or two (the fact that it immediately puts a card, ballista in this case, into your hand, vs on draw) in the gemstone caverns slot
did not cast Committ/memory once, so i'm not sure about that one...

also, nimble obstructionist vs TKS as a postboard tempo threat , not sure which i like more.

Congrats on the 5-0! Would you mind posting the list list with the tweaks you made? I've recently started playing U tron again again after a 2 year hiatus and am glad to see the deck putting up some good finishes online, but have had a little trouble myself. I've found myself being a little impatient in matches and sideboarding terribly. Could you give us an overview of how you sideboarded in the matches you played? It would help some of us a lot!

Raymond Perez Jr (RayFuturePro) just keeps cranking out 5-0 lists for us to look at.

The lack of Chalice is very surprising since I feel like it helps in the Burn matchup, but it looks like he went with Sun Droplet and a Talisman of Progress for an additional counter on EE (something I see Shok do every once in a while). Sun Droplet seems so underwhelming...has anybody tried that out lately?

Chalice is one of those cards that hoses certain strategies quite nicely, but if you don't have it in the first couple turns against aggressive decks, it can be a really poor top deck. That being said, in a deck like ours with counter magic and bounce effects it can have late game utility helping to stabilize or lock the game down after stabilizing. I'm always on the fence about it. When its great its great, other times it's meh at best. At least we can always pitch to thirst.

How important has the single gemstone caverns been for you guys? I rarely see it in opening hands on the draw and i just saw that i could sell it for $24 store credit. Would i be missing out by selling it? It just seems like it barely improves win percentage and there are other lands that could be played with more utility, even another blue source.

When you get it, it's amazing. When you don't, it's almost the absolute worst draw. As you mentioned, you rarely draw it, as it is a 1 of. I've just recently cut it from the deck. I do agree with rabbit though, I don't know that I'd sell it just yet, unless there's something you absolutely need for the deck.

Thats just it. I want to incorporate crucible of worlds and gifts ungiven into my build. I wouldn't sell gemstone caverns just to sell it but having access to crucible and gifts seems fun and powerful and crucible is expensive. Selling gemstone gets me half way there!

Hey Everyone. I was wondering if anyone has experience dropping Inquisition of Kozilek from their lists in favor of additional lightning bolts or Temur battle rages? I've seen a few lists drop inquisition entirely lately. How does the deck feel with less discard? In what metas would this be a good call?

I like Eli's thought process and know he is a much more skilled deck builder than I, but not only is leonin arbiter plus knight of the reliquary a nonbo, Knight with no fetchlands also seems like somewhere you don't want to be. I think a list like this would be better including ramunap excavator and asuza, lost but seeking than leonin arbiter but then it becomes pretty much gw value town ala Todd Stevens.

Nice Work Malko! I too have been playing Kelvin's vizier knightfall list and have been doing fairly well. I did have a run of bad luck this weekend though in a 60 man 1k paper event where I ran into eldrazi tron rounds 1 and 2 and lost both in 3 games. The games that i won were easy combo wins and the games that i lost were grindy bu felt pretty unfavored. How has the matchup been in your experience? Any advice for me? I need to improve this matchup if im going to keep bringing vizier knightfall to paper events at my lgs.

I haven't posted since joining either TNDS and want to keep this conversation going as well! I really like the addition of oath of nissa to some lists and am looking forward to testing it this weekend. Graffdigger's Cage is a very popular sideboard card and I've been seeing it a lot lately. Oath of Nissa is a way to dig for combo pieces that plays around cage and doesn't leave us at the mercy of our draws. It also lets us comfortably run less lands as oath of nissa can find those as well. These GW builds with knight of the reliquary look promising as its nice to play strong threats like knight, in addition to the vizier combo, that can tutor for alternate win conditions like gavony township and kessig wolf run, while also having a mana base that is more resilient to blood moon and less taxing on the life total. That being said, while playing a straight GW version this past week, I haven't really missed retreat to coralhelm. But I do miss reflector mage, spell queller, izzet staticaster, meddling mage and counter spells. Fairgrounds warden, engineered explosives and gaddock teeg/eidolon of rhetoric have been decent replacements for some of what i've been missing. I will post more after testing with oath of nissa in the GW version.
