What's your commander? Edgar probably?
I haven't played vampires myself, so I can't help much with the creatures, but most seem OK here. I'm a fan of Legion's Landing, because that is a creature and essentially ramp for 1 mana, also it's a vampire.
However, I'd cut almost all of the instants and sorceries you play. Keep Crackling Doom, Fatal Push, Go for the Throat, Lightning Bolt, Swords to Plowshares, Teferi's Protection and Terminate. Cut the rest. They are either too expensive for what they do or they are plain inefficient in multiplayer like 1 for 1 discard or targeted land destruction. Spells I would add are Abrade, a super versatile and efficient removal spell. Wear//Tear, Toxic Deluge, Fire Covenant, Blasphemous Act, Jeska's Will, maybe New Blood and Boros Charm. Vandalblast is another great card for red. And if you like the Fireball effects (which are generally too weak in EDH usually), I can recommend Shatterskull Smashing. This is a Fireball which doesn't take up a spell slot because you usually play it as the land, which makes it a great card.
Cathars' Crusade is a great finisher if you're playing Edgar. Gets out of hand really fast.
You should also work on your land base, remove the taplands and replace them with lands which enter untapped. It makes a huge difference, taplands essentially set your back a turn.

Be_lakor posted a message on Broodstar Blue AggroHey I don't know if you are interested at all, but I when I was playing a Broodstar deck back in Mirrodin I was using Semblance Anvil (which got a lot of attention lately) in combination with Vedalken Archmage.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern)
Nowadays it is possible to support this draw engine with Riddlesmith + Ovalchase Daredevil or Paradoxical Outcome and other cost reduction like Foundry Inspector. There are also ways to feed an Atog like the Combo of Sword of the Meek and Sly Requisitioner+ artifact sac outlet. If you get an Disciple of the Vault running beside that it directly hits my nostalgia feels. -

Another FNM, another games, this time went 2/1 with this variation:
Match 1 vs some wacky Bant Toolbox - won 2:0
This guy always plays this deck, it's some weird homebrew Collected Company toolbox with Birds of Paradise, Noble Hierarchs, Spell Quellers, Myr Superions, Knight of Autumns, Chord of Callings, Whir of Inventions and Trinket Mages that looks for stuff like Engineered Explosives, Walking Ballista and Basilisk Collar. Also has Pili-Pala and Grand Architect as one of the win cons. Just because.
Game 1 was close, he had Myr Superion with equipped Basilisk Collar smashing me every turn being double Exalted with 2 Hierarchs. Fortunately until then I've made quite strong force. 2 Marshals, 2 WLL and Dryad went bonkers. After some time I drew Selfless Spirit and Spectral Procession afterwards and finished him off from air.
Game 2 wasn't even close. Little Thalia + Stony Silence and he was pretty much done as he was on 4 mana and couldn't cast CoCo while I was amassing my force.
Match 2 vs Jeskai Control - won 2:0
Game 1 went smooth. Pushed on turn 5 with 4 dudes and when he wanted to Bolt my Marshal I flipped WLL with Windbrisk and won. 2 Selfless Spirits were on board too prefenting him from wiping me with Supreme Verdict.
Game 2 I went turn 1 Dryad, turn 2 little Thalia, slowed him down a lot. Electrolyze on my little Thalia just to be prevented by Eiganjo was pure gold. He drew a lot of removal too though and after 5 turns we went on topdeck war again. Big Thalia was topdecked and defended with everything I got, she dealt like 15 dmg. Again Lightning Bolted her just to be prevented by Eiganjo. I guess 1st time wasn't enough to learn.
After that we played 2 more casual games, all stomped easly. Stuff like Pathing my own SotP so Cryptic Commandwouldn't resolve were fun.
Match 3 vs Storm, lost 1:2
Game 1 he went all defence killing my Dryad with turn 2 Grapeshot and making 6 goblins with Empty the Warrens early on. I just couldn't break through and in ~5-6 turn he combo'ed off.
Game 2 was a stomp from my side, little Thalia was on board and he couldn't get rid of her successfully preventing him to go off.
Game 3 he killed me on turn 3. Bonkers. I kept hand with no Dryads and little Thalias but with 2 SotP, I hoped their lifegained from Manamorphose should be enough, and they actually got me 8 life. Wasn't enough though. Need to mulligan vs this deck more agressivelly. Lesson learned.
This deck is so fun! The more I play it the more I realise you are right about it. Most of the time at least.
I still think Wilt-Leaf Liege isn't good enough to be in this deck. The only way I'm guaranteed to discard her is very unusual and while being 4 mana 4/4 anthem is strong it never felt gamebreaking.
Leonin-Relic Warders were subbed in G2 and G3 and in G1 one of them just ate a single Myr Superion. Not that gamebreaking, didn't fight against any sort of prison deck. By himself he really didn't do any relevant beating. I really believe that artifact/enchantment removal is needed in this deck but this guy isn't what's needed here. Probably I'll swap him.
Problem is I still don't see any good stuff to swap them for right now. Hero of Bladehold was suggested by the Jeskai player but he doesn't impact the board immediatly and that sucks. Ranger of Eos is my idea but there aren't any crucial 1 drops to make it relevant. Thought about going Gideon package as Kytheon is already in the deck and they are decent beaters that have some nice utility and relevant abilities, mostly about Gideon of the Trials - he's strong against combo decks and shuts down a relevant beater. Gideon, Ally of Zendikar is very flexible being either an anthem or token maker but he's more questionable.
I'll try 1 Gideon of the Trials in spot of 1 WLL next friday.
Leonin Relic-Warder has to stay for now. -

That was what I referred to with "It works the same way" in my first response.Quote from thesedaiv »I forgot to ask or couldn't find: When I replicate say Shattering Spree five or six times, is that the same stack that I can use Mindbreak Trap on or is that a new one?
Relevant differences here between storm (as with Empty the Warrens in my original sequence) and replicate (as with Shattering Spree in this question):
- The count for storm is how many spells were cast before Empty the Warrens was cast. The count for replicate is how many times you add the replicate cost when casting Shattering Spree.
- The free condition for Mindbreak Trap looks at Empty the Warrens and any other spells your opponent cast to increase the storm count. It does not look at payment of any replicate cost.
And THE stack is only created with the start of a game. It is empty frequently (such as every time a step/phase/turn ends), but it does not cease to exist until the game ends. -

Shroud means something can't be the target of spells or abilities, plain and simple, so equipment that are already attached are unaffected.Posted in: Deck Creation (Modern) -

If you hope for MindTrap to exile all those replicated Spree-copies then, yes, you have to play it on top of them (before they resolve), which can be dubbed the 'same stack' (even though this has no meaning by the actual rules of the game).Quote from thesedaiv »I forgot to ask or couldn't find: When I replicate say Shattering Spree five or six times, is that the same stack that I can use Mindbreak Trap on or is that a new one?
The stack is actually much simpler than most beginners may believe (probably because they haven't been taught skillfully). May I kindly suggest you take some time to check up rule 405? -

Replicate is a triggered ability that triggers when you cast the spell, just like Storm, and the copies are created quite like the same way (it just looks at something else for the number copies to create). It ends up working the same way for Mindbreak Trap.
And the Stack is a zone that exists in the game from start to finish. There is no such thing as "a new stack". -

HugSeal posted a message on Mindbreak Trap QuestionPosted in: Magic RulingsQuote from thesedaiv »I meant the exile part. Lets assume my opponent has a Storm count of 15 and attempts to Grape Shot for 15 or Empty the Warrens for 15. So I get the free cast of MBT however does that cause the fizzling so there's no Grape Shots/Warrens used?
I am noty really sure what you mean about "no grape shots used".
When a spell is put on the stack it sit there. If you then exile all spells on the stacks they won't go back to the hand or something. They will be exiled. And since they are exiled they aren't on teh stack so they can't resolve. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

EDIT: I"ve been toying with doing a similar mono white weenie or w/g weenie, and i've been a fan of Wrath of God as I'm an old school lover and remember being dropped on me back in the day. Is it obsolete now or can I still run *** as a 2/3 of in weenie?
