About the 5 color sliver legend, there is no multicolor section in the m14 card galley on the Wizard's site.

I don't remember how it played out with Nicol Bolas, can someone confirm or deny if there was a multicolor section for the m13 card list before the reveal that Bolas was in?

Pretty sure Bolas was revealed as in before the spoiler went up.

At least the Wolfir got cards, the Gryff didn't even have one of their own!

One of the things Maro mentions occasionally on his podcasts and in articles is the new developer tendency to over saturate a set with "new" stuff because they aren't truly confident in their main mechanic.

Is it somewhat ironic that creative seems to do this every time, or is it just me?

I agree with a lot of the above. In the end, what was the point behind ANY of the planeswalkers on Ravnica? Jace was trying to figure out the maze, but for what end? Gideon showed up to help Boros... why? What about Vraska and Domri Rade?

I don't see the point in wanting people to identify with planeswalkers if you're not going to give them any say in the storyline.

Gideon showed up to recruit people to help fight the Eldrazi and got drawn into the guild conflict. Domri is from Ravnica and hasn't done much planeswalking yet. Vraska we have very little info on but she is likely also a native.

but why does the ogre have reach?
vigilance shouldn't be on a red creature, it just doesn't feel right
why doesn't it have the "multi-head" ability (can only be blocked by two or more creatures)
    why doesn't it have trample?

it just feels like a bunch of abilities tacked together to make the card playable (to be fair, i suppose thats at least better than some of the awful guild champions printed). it just doesn't feel like a R/G ogre to me

He's not a red creature. He's a multicolored creature, and Vigilance has been added to green's color pie precisely to make interesting creatures like this. Rather than getting the two headed ability, he gets a defensive version of it - one head attacks everything and the other head watches to block when necessary. It makes for an interesting card and a different flavor for a two headed ogre instead of just a "me smashy everything" type of card.

You need to let it go.

Nope - the copyable values are only the ones that are printed on the card. Your Llanowar Elves will come in as a copy of Essence of the Wild without any bonuses from auras or tokens the original might have.

The body being destroyed or dismembered is associated with spirit disassociation in various cultures, so it stands to reason burning a body might increase spirits being turned into geists rather than resting. It may simply be easier to pull spirits who had their previous mortal form destroyed.

Just did a search for top-finsihing legacy decks. Saw a few Spell Pierce(mostly it has been replaced by Mental Misstep). Didn't see a single Mindbreak Trap. Flusterstorm is at all times better than Spell Pierce. You do the math.

I for one don't want Flusterstorm anywhere near Modern. MM is bad enough.

Flutterstorm does not counter planeswalkers, artifacts, or enchantments, all of which are relevant (enchantments admittedly less so than the others). You don't see any Mindbreak Traps because storm is currently a non-factor in Legacy and no one has the sideboard cards to spare just in case they have to play against Ari Lax.

Good point. It also strengthens Naturalize effects and weakens creature kill - both because creature kill can't target the hexproof creature and because it can't serve as de facto aura removal.

It also means fewer colors can interact with Auras. Blue, red, and black all have to bounce/kill the creature to deal with an aura. While Hexproof makes auras more meaningful, I'm not sure it's a good idea for color balance to force three colors out of having a way to interact with Auras.

Sorry guys, I haven't read through the whole thread but can someone confirm something with me please? Are there now going to be 15 new Legendary Generals = 5 Wedges and 10 Enemy-dual-coloured Generals? I heard something about this when Nin was spoiled, but this seems to contradict Forsythe's article about 10 new Wedges and the 5 old Planar Chaos Wedge dragons. Has something changed? Thanks!

There will be 10 new wedge generals and the 5 Planar Chaos Dragons, and an additional 5 enemy color pair Legendary creatures. Nin is the UR representative.

But the promos point toward a more likley chance they would be reprinted. The wouldnt print useless stuff that people couldnt play at FNM, when mainly thats what they would play. It attracts new people, and they cant play Extended easily or other formats except standard and limited.

Id say a 75% chance they do.

This would be a reasonable argument if most of the promos they printed for FNM were standard legal, but they aren't.

Bitterblossom was an excellent card no doubt, but hardly universal compared to Mutavault and Tarmogoyf. Bitterblossom was in Faeries and B/W tokens, while Goyf was played in pretty much everything (like you said) and is probably the best creature ever printed.

Bitterblossom was also played in the sideboard of Elves in many cases, and was a semi-standard card in Rock decks for months. It wasn't quite as ubiquitous as Tarmogoyf in Standard, but it came close.

Baneslayer Angel is nowhere near that prolific. The problem is everyone and their mother is hyping it, and people keep buying them at $45 a piece.

My guess is Baneslayer will end up dropping to around $35 between now and Worldwake, unless someone figures out a deck that runs it as a 4 of which consistently beats Jund and has at least an even matchup with Bushwhacker aggro.
