So unless it says "target creatures your target opponents control" redirect does nada, n'est pas?

That's the rule. Kinda bull*****, honestly, but I can accept it if it's the rule.

Can I redirect Ezuri's Predation on it's caster? The text clearly states "for each creature an opponent controls". Does "choose new targets for the spell" make the caster the "opponent" or would I have to redirect it to a 3rd party?

Again, still not seeing this. 608.2b says that Child of Alara's trigger has to check to see if Yahenni is a legal target. Since Yahenni's ability is what caused the trigger and the effect of the ability granted Yahenni indestructable, wouldn't that mean that the activated ability (sacrifice) has to resolve before the trigger occurs? (i.e. Yahenni gaining Indestructible gets priority on the stack over the triggered effect?)

I'm not trying to be obtuse but it seems so paradoxical. How can Yahenni send CoA to the graveyard and cause the trigger if Yahenni was destroyed by what it triggered? If we're going strictly by 602.2, Yahenni would have died prior to CoA going to the graveyard, meaning CoA never went to the graveyard, meaning the trigger never went off.

The way I'm seeing the stack:

    Yahenni sacrifices CoA
    CoA's effect triggers
    Yahenni gains Indestructible

See, that's where I get confused. The sacrifice and anything it triggers has to resolve before you gain the effect from the sacrifice? Since Yahenni is an activated ability and CoA is triggered, wouldn't paying the cost of the activation take precedence over the triggered effect from CoA? Since you've already paid the price of the activated ability, the trigger of the sacrifice goes on the stack ahead of the "sacrifice" resolving?

If I play Yahenni, Undying Partisan with Child of Alara on the board, and then I sacrifice Child of Alara to Yahenni, does Yahenni become indestructible before CoA kills him? Stack question, sorry for the noobishness.

  • posted a message on Do you like Math? This problem made me sick.
    The table is:

    Inexorable Tide
    Winding Constrictor
Master Biomancer with a +1/+1 counter on him
    Cathar's Crusade
    Renegade Krasis

    Then I play Conquerer's Pledge

What the hell happens first? Biomancer makes all of them etb with +3/+3, making them all 4/4 but do each of them enter separately, and then
Cathar's Crusade effect happens? If they do, then Conquerer's Pledge should continue to increase Renegade Krasis AND Master Biomancer incrementally, meaning that every token gets double counters while Renegade Krasis picks up each individual +1/+1 for it's Evolve. Right?

And then we throw Winding Constrictor in there. So, if Cathar's pops on every entrance, then enter as 6/6 but does that also mean that Krasis increases at the same rate because, technically, before the first one entered it was higher powered than Krasis (while it's continuing to get double +1/+1 counters because of Winding Constrictor)?

    So, as I see it:

    1/1 token enters
    +3/+3 from Master Biomancer
    +1/+1 from Cathar's Crusade
    +1/+1 from Winding Constrictor
    +1/+1 from Renegade Krasis
    7/7 token

    From this you get:
    6/8 Master Biomancer
    5/4 Renegade Krasis

    1/1 token enters
+6/+6 from Master Biomancer (because Cathar's Crusade and Winding Constrictor)
    +1/+1 from Cathar's Crusade
    +1/+1 from Winding Constrictor
    +1/+1 from Renegade Krasis
    10/10 Token

    1/1 token enters
    +9/+9 from MB
+3/+3 from CC, WC, and RK?

And so on and so forth? Am I doing the math right to where all of these tokens would technically have seriously different powers because of the order they entered, scaling from 7/7 to 21/21 and dragging the Krasis and MB in their wake? I feel like I'm missing something here with the Krasis +1/+1 (like how all 6 tokens from Conquerer's Pledge end up being 6/6 because of Cathars' Crusade) but I can't figure it out.
