Does anyone know how this works with levelers? If you make a 4/4 Enclave Cryptologist and level it up, does it become a 0/1 again? It feels like it would
Emrakul is great, and i love that it doesn't cost 15 and like people said, it can be cheated out where others can't. I find it to be a really fun card and the fact that it's cost can be reduced makes it a higher pick than some other super ramp targets
I like running Soltari Trooper more, but Walker seems more flexible. I don't know that it's enough. You really have to maneuver yourself into a great position if you want to block with creatures that aren't worth it when not exerted regularly. Taking a turn off of blocking or attacking gives the opponent a lot of time to find an answer to a 3/3 flier, or even a tapped 2/2
I'm starting to think I didn't give pale rider enough time. Someone mentioned (maybe in this thread) that it took time for Young Pyromancer to find his grove which I can identify with. I now think it's probably red's coolest 2 drop but was on the fence about it originally. Maybe I'd think that of Pale Rider if I ran him longer? Might have to re-add him after all the staunch defense by long time cubers.
One of the best parts of cube design is that if/when you mess up with card choices, you always just get to change things up again. I'd run Pale Rider of Trostad again if I were you, just to be sure how it fits with your playgroup. Why live with regret when you can just know for sure?
I mean, when you play your Heir of Falkenrath on turn 2, let's say, how often are you really not going to discard the card before your combat on turn 3?
Seems worth noting that even in this scenario, you do get an extra draw first
Stunt Double is a really fun card to play with, and I feel like they may be close enough that it's cube-dependent which one is better. Recursive clones seem really interesting, and turning your stunt double into a removal spell in a pinch is quite fulfilling
Funniest blowout was me T1 Entomb putting Griselbrand in the graveyard with Reanimate in hand
Opponent plays Black Lotus -> Scavenging Ooze -> exile fatty
Probably Blessed vs Cursed, because I kind of learned to play magic using them, and there's quite a few cube staples in there too
Can anyone explain how Stroke of Genius is a win condition with infinite mana compared to pull from tomorrow? They both seem great in that deck.
Heights are fine to a point
