Okay, first off, adding more lands above 38 is not necessary, more mana accel and land search is better when you want to draw more lands consistently and be able to get to your higher end of the curve... I mostly try to play around 10 or some mana accelerants and around 10 draw spells.. though in white/green draw is more difficult to find I feel then for example black or blue, but we have a few draw spells in green at least... ^^
Drawing helps us get to lands, same as land search would in a way.. but also helps get us more cats and overall presence for later in the game... I am missing a few draw spells for this myself.. but aiming for draw spells that give you cards equal to greatest power.. those I would recommend.
Why you want to add a land like the fetch you mentioned is for 2 reasons:
1 - Consistancy - being able to draw the color you need helps you be able to cast your cats more consistently at the turn you want to play them..
2 - Deck Thinning - If you fetch for a land, that means you now have 2 lands out of your deck and not 1, and yeah the margin of land depletion is overall negligible, but later in the game the less chance on land drops the better overall... cause you need threats to win the game in the end..
Hope this makes sense to you and you get what I am trying to say... not the best with words sometimes...
Actually, this makes a lot of sense to me. Thank you!
Okay, quick question about lands in this deck. I know it came with 6 Basic of one colour and 7 of the other. And people complained they did not have enough mana. So I bumped it up to 10 each and with everything else I had, I had no problem with mana in either game. Neither flooded nor lacking. Why would I, for example, add a card like Windswept Heath, instead of just adding another basic land card. I know it gives me a choice of what I want, but again, bumping up the basic lands in the first place helped fine. Wouldn't it be better to use those slots in my deck for another equipment or feline? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm still really learning here!
Well, I think this is a very good place to start. I play cat tribal as well and I'm determined to make it work. My deck is fairly similair. I have more wrath effects in it and i have a "sun titan" for some equipment/cat reccursion. I think you need something like exile artifacts/enchantments and more exiling stuff like "swords to plowshare" just getting rid of pesky things. The amount of cats is fine for as far as i know and i have an equipment "umezawa's jitte" thats just a powerfull equipment to have.
Thank you so much for replying! I will look at those cards and see what I can do! I just bought Sword of Feast and Famine and Sword of Light and Shadow to put in, but need to figure out what to get rid of to make room! I played 2 games with this deck at FNM and it held up a lot better than I expected. First game with a pod of 3, I was doing well, then one player with a plethora of snakes devoured both me and the other player at the same time. I should have started attacking earlier with my commander. Second game, in a pod of 4, I killed off two players and went in for my final kill, being 1 turn away from winning, but he pulled out something that destroyed me. I forget what card. Not a board wipe, just enough power to kill me with 4 points over. Alas! lol I am excited as to how well it did in multiplayer format though! My first G/W deck and first time playing aggro. The claws are out!!!
I am reworking my Feline Ferocity EDH deck and this is what I will probably play tomorrow night at FNM. I am still fairly a noob and this is my first G/W deck. I usually play G/B, so very used to making the best of my graveyard and being patient whilst pulling out a huge force of stompy green monsters that gobble everyone up or at least protect me! This is a whole new field for me. How does one play this deck? Do I want to do my best getting out as many cats as I can, equip when I can to make them more powerful and gain power with it being tribal, and swing early to start nibbling away at my opponents or what? Sadly my MTG tutor is taking a break from gaming, so I am on my own here. I know it needs work, but I am trying! I am just not familiar with cards like people who have been playing for years, or decades! I am sure there are some better cats, etc. out there that cost less and do more! Advise, please! Also I did pull stuff out to put in more basic lands as I am hearing people who play the pre-con were having trouble with not enough basic land to work with, so I pumped it up!
Not yet, but I have only begun to win games in a row. Overall in the groups I play with we all have a pretty even chance to win or lose. And the regulars never gloat about it. We shake hands, high five, chat, shuffle and move on to the next game. Sometimes we all play the same deck again, some switch it out, or someone might have to leave and a few others drop in on the game. If someone has an overly powerful deck they usually switch out if there is a card or two that will simply keep blowing us away. I am more embarrassed for the jerks who can't stop announcing that they have won, if it is once or every game, and can't get over themselves. Quickest way to make yourself unwanted at a store. And people will have no problem letting you know they have had enough of you. Either they don't come back or apologize and no longer get into their gloating sessions in the future. It is a game, it is casual, we all like to win once in a while, but when you have 5-7 people in a pod, you play for the fun of it, not to flatten your opponent (says the girl that just bought Fumigate and Wrath of God. Hehehe...
White is the king of board wipes, ranging from the OG Wrath of God to tricks like Rout (conveniently included with the precon) and more recent entries such as Fumigate. You can easily find a dozen wipes to fill the deck if you so choose.
Oketra's Last Mercy would bring you back to 40 life when cast, but I wouldn't consider it worthwhile - at least in my meta, if someone is winning by damage than setting yourself back to 40 life only delays them by 1-2 turns. You'd rather draw an answer as opposed to that.
I'd suggest augmenting the deck with some better equipment such as Fireshrieker or Chitinous Cloak to make creatures more effective at dealing damage, or giving them evasion. Slip in some extra kitties as well - I'm fond of Sacred Cat because if you're running Arahbo, Roar of the World as your commander it means you can potentially swing for 4 (and gain 4 life) on turn 2.
The single best card I recommend, though, if you're planning on keeping it as a combat-focused deck is True Conviction. Double strike plus lifelink to all your creatures, coupled with the buffs that the commander offers, means you will break most combats easily.
Also, depending on how you want to run the deck, consider maybe using Mirri, Weatherlight Duelist as a commander option - with the equipment availability the deck offers (and others that you can add), she should be able to go head-to-head against the bulk of creatures out there, while also minimizing the opponent's opportunities to respond. You'd lose the free buffs from Arahbo in the command zone, but it could be worth it depending on your table.
I have begun to rummage through my collection, which is pretty small, and see what I have here before buying singles to pump up my Feline Ferocity EDH deck. First of all, are there any green or white board wipe spells? I feel like it is always good to have one in my decks. This is only my 2nd Commander deck I have ever built, so a bit of a challenge.
I was also wondering about Oketra's Last Mercy. Does this card fit well in it, in case I find myself dropping low in life? Does it mean when cast, so long as it resolves, I would go back up to 40 life?
So far I have cards like Regal Caracal, Adorned Pouncer, Pride Sovereign, Beastmaster Ascension to put in, as well. Maybe Larger than Life would also serve me well? And a long list of other cards to search out! I usually play B/G with lots of graveyard stuff and big stompy critters and not use to these little kitty bits, so kinda would love to throw in a few unexpected surprises for my co-players that no one is expecting. Thoughts?
You all are fantastic! This is exactly what I needed! Thank you so much. I plan to print these responses up so I can study them and become more familiar with them. Much appreciated!
Yes, those other terms. The ones that as a fairly new player to MTG I hear in conversation at FNM and beyond, getting flung around like a pack of cards in a game! I have no idea what they mean and want to learn them. So far I have not been able to find a MTG glossary of such, but if anyone knows of one and can link it, I would highly appreciate it. Or, feel free to explain some of these terms to me! Please forgive any spelling errors! Here are some of them.

I play casual too and am very excited for this release. I love playing big stompy critters so dinos are perfect for me. I hope to finally get some decent green flyers! And since I play G/B most of the time, I am also hoping for some dark and dreary pirates, ghastly and worthy of ghost ships from Pirates of the Caribbean! I hope we get some awesome artifacts from pirate treasure!!
If you want another tidbit, there are a few cards that have alternate foil versions (just minor things, a few cards have things they missed while printing the foil such as AWOL missing the top of the mountain in the foil printing) and a few have unique watermarks only really visible in the foil (Shoe Tree had a shoe watermark in the foil, Artist Consultation has a paintbrush watermark)
And I trust that you also own the "secret card" Super Secret Tech? Part of why I foiled out (most of) my collection.
Edit: Oh and if there is any confusion on card interactions, Maro has written an awesome article dubbed the FAQTIWDAWCC that serves as a release document. It also erratas Spatula of the Ages to put any SILVER BORDERED permanent onto the battlefield.
What is the "secret card" Super Secret Tech? I have a foil one that cost a pretty penny for a card I won't play, but it is pretty! Or is there yet another cool version of it? No stores around here had it, so ordered it via online.
And I'm looking forward to another hidden message. (Google it)
Thanks for letting me know about this. I had no idea and just pulled them out to read each list. So cleverly done! I do hope they will do another one too!

I love this idea!
A fun set of Unsung Heroes and Heroines (silver bordered Planeswalkers) would be fun too! Hopefully someone is listening!
