I've been wondering where we could get some discussion on the deck at. I finished my list about a week or so ago but I haven't had too much time to test it yet. I did watch the SCG Indy which helped out but I may go back and take notes. I've made some pretty big misplays I feel though so far by being too aggressive and either running into removal and or bolts. Either way I'm going to spend some more time with the deck in the coming days. I'll post my list later but it's fairly standard from what I saw on the SCG articles.
Man that was great I'm happy to see Ad Nauseam take it. I wasn't expecting to see the Teachings / Peer suite before I saw the decklist but those Timely Reinforcements game 2 were epic.
24 lands, 2 of which are colorless. I figured I could drop to 22 if I had Noble Hierarch's but since I don't I'm working with what I have. I haven't had too many issues so far but I'm going to experiment with things and report back.
I got rid of Siege Rhino and the clunkier threats and stuck with a more efficient creature suite. I also upped the disruption package and added more removal but I may change the split between Inquisition and Thoughtseize in order to prevent too much loss of life. I am really considering dropping Gavony Township all together but I'll have to think on it for a while. I would like to add Noble Hierarch but I don't have them yet and I plan on waiting a few weeks until I get my playset.
I was mostly looking at what how it would work in mainboard since it seems like it would be fine regardless. Now that I think about it I may drop it to the sideboard and bring in something else since he feels kind of clumsy game 1. Should I run Grim Flayer instead of Finks mainboard? The only issue I see is that Delirium may not be that effective and do I want his manipulation of the top while also running Bobs? I'm hesitant about running another Huntmaster or adding Grim Lavamancer mainboard. The amounts of Fatal Push also was up in the air but I settled on two mostly because I like the card. I will report back after a while and see if I need to drop some of them in favor of another Decay.
Hey guys this is a crosspost from the Jund forums. I went ahead and took the plunge with finishing Jund and Abzan. I picked two lists that were relatively normal that I can also make tweaks to once I get used to it. As for playing them it's definitely not something I'm used to. The closest to interaction that I've come to is playing U/B Teachings in Pauper or dropping a Thought-Knot Seer on someone in Modern. Actually using discard, card advantage and slowing my play down to figure out what the right lines of play are feels strange instead of figuring out the quickest way to go off with Ad Nauseam or count to 20 with Burn. Here's the Abzan list I'm running. Hopefully it's fine posting in both forums since I'd like some advice on both variants.

I'm on the fence about finishing up Jund for MTGO. I am starting to feel burned out from playing linear decks like Ad Nauseam and I haven't touched Burn in about a year. I don't like Eldrazi Tron even though I am a fan of the spaghetti monsters but for various reasons it's not my cup of tea. I think the lack of consistency is one thing I don't like about it.
I have been goldfishing and playtesting Jund lately and it seems like something I'd like to play since it's completely different from playing with a non-interactive deck which is what I've done in various formats for the past two years.
I would like to play something I can tweak to the meta that has a competitive chance. Jund seems like a good fit because it doesn't seem like a deck that would get boring, there's room for flex slots and it's probably going to be competitive as long as Modern is a format. I already own Goyfs and 3 Liliana's so the rest of the deck won't be too much of an issue. Had anyone else switched from a linear deck to midrange here? What was it like? I can hang on to Ad Nauseam and run Jund within my budget. I may also build into Abzan, Death's Shadow Jund and or 8-Rack to have other options.
I played my first league on MTGO the other day. I decided to go with Ad Nauseam and the first two decks had Surgical Extraction which destroyed me. I tried to hold on but I couldn't land a hand with Pact + Grace. I ended up going 0-3 my first three games since it was nothing but the latter card, Eidolon of Rhetoric, discard and Kataki, War's Wage. I won my last two matches but man it was brutal.
I recently finished this deck before Christmas and I do enjoy it but I am struggling with consistency. I know a lot of it comes down to needing more time with the deck and thinking about mulliganing properly and lines of play instead of just racing to 20 or trying to combo off quickly. I hate having Tron online but getting mana screwed to the point that by the time I can get a threat on board it's already over. I'm running a stock list minus Hangarback Walker and Walking Ballista but I am going to add the latter to my list and drop some mainboard Spatial Contortion to the sideboard. I may also switch out Gemstone Caverns for Sanctum of Ugin. I have to admit that turn 2 Thought-Knot Seer or turn 3 Karn Liberated feels dirty in a great way.
I've been reading this forum for a few months now. I picked up Ad Nauseam as my second Modern deck, after Burn, and I really fell in love with it. I figured it was time to register here since this primer really helped me step up my game and understand the deck. I still have a lot to learn but I've really enjoyed it a lot so far. My first list wasn't very optimized and I was running Peer / Teachings suite minus Spoils of the Vault. I saw where Danny Spencer had a good performance at SCG Columbus, I think it was, and started running his list since it seemed more standard and refined.
I know it's common knowledge by now but I figured I would share my input. I don't really see anything that needs to altered and I really like Spoils of the Vault. It's killed me a few times but it still adds a really interesting dynamic to the deck. High risk and high reward. Ironically enough this is my first combo deck. I started playing Magic two years ago but mostly stuck with Pauper and preferred aggro decks. I only play on MODO since there isn't an LGS for a few hours of me but I am planning on doing some leagues this year.
