Pretty sure you have to resolve the possibility storm trigger before you can cast anything else, and the end of the trigger puts the exiled cards at the bottom of the library.

    That's what I thought. Thanks:)

Ok, maybe it was said in the thread already and i did miss it, but can you cast a Misthollow Griffin as you are going threw the cards looking for a match?
IE: I cast an instant and while exiling the top card of my deck this comes up during the process before I get to the next instant. Can it be cast?
I have a feeling it can't as it's during the resolution of the triggered effect but I want to make sure.

    Sorry, but you're wrong. Smile

Fathom Mage's ability triggers from the battlefield, and triggers are checked just after it enters (any time an object changes zones or any game event occurs). Since to "place a counter" means to add one from an effect OR to enter the battlefield with counters as the result of an effect, the Mage will see the counters being "placed" as it enters, and trigger accordingly. You'll get to draw cards.

Great! Sometimes it can be good to be wrong:) I didn't know about that "Or to enter the battlefield with counters as the result of an effect" part.
    Sweet yummy Crow.

The clause "comes in to play as (some thing)" or "comes into play with" means it hits the ground as that thing or with that thing, not hits the ground and then changes form or then gets counters ect.
What this means is things that trigger from a mutant coming into play or a bigger power or thoughness will work.

But this also means Fathom Mage will not draw you cards as the counters are never placed on her; she comes in to play with them.

Do correct me if I am wrong, but I have seen many posts thinking they will get free cards from the mage.
Edit: Was wrong. Eats crow. Couldn't be happier.

I love a Johnny challenge. Ok going with the odds that you will most likely get land. Use that.. Run a heavy land deck with the more pricey land draws and Electromancers. Turn three with the Eletromancer out will get you 2-3 lands on average(if all you do is pull land) or a ramp spell. So even if you did not pull off the fatty you can hard cast it.

So, if you combine Ooze Flux with a 0/X evolve guy, does it just say "1G: put a 1/1 into play"? I think it might. With multiple evolve guys in play it could kind of get out of hand.

Yes, yes it does. And a Fathom Mage and one more +1/+1 counter and it draws a card as well.

    honestly I mind the-
"We have received a tremendous amount of feedback from fans that the volume of cards released each year is too high. After evaluating the set sizes, we have decided that card sets will be smaller than they have traditionally been."

    -a little more.
With a limited card pool it just gets old to fast in my opinion.
Or leads to, if there not careful, the days of "only deck X in the top 10".
Unless they do more stand alone sets, which I'm not sure they can pull off, or make the base set bigger, this just looks like a "cop out" for making fewer new mechanics and having to print less cards"

now on the one hand this dose off-set the "mystical" rare problem by ratio, and it does mean the set will be more focused on a few mechanics in stead of diluting a lot into one set(i hope). But I still see the con as much bigger.

And I am curios, how many here feel the average card pool has been to big?

D*mnit, I knew there was a card like that, I just couldn't think of it. I kept thinking of Galepowder Mage.

    Same here.

VERY MUCH, R_C! Thank you for posting these!!!

EDIT: It just occurred to me that there are large birds in the final picture R_C posted. Birds. On Lorwyn. Are there supposed to be birds (especially large ones that look like they are being ridden) on Lorwyn?

I noticed that too, I'm guessing it's story line related though I have not read the book to know.
Still makes me wonder... There too big for kithkin so giants on rocs?

The art looks great, 'really like the first flamekin pice, they look, well more evolved then other depictions. Faeries with rapiers, cool.

Morning Tide has the same amount of rares as Planar Chaos (60 common, 55 uncommon, 50 rare, 165 total) just 15 less uncommons, in fact it has the lowest uncommons since I don't know when.
This tells me you'll see more of the same uncommons when drafting -a good thing I thing, but you'll be seeing more of the same befor you get that rare you want when going through packs. Not that I mind.

I think it will have more staple -not necessarily game ending rares as it has such a high rare to common/uncommon ratio then befor (I looked as far back as kamigawa).

Looks more suited to drafting to me
