@Talore. Actually, it's suppose to be that the first activated/triggered ability of a Dragon per turn would free. So it would really be 6 mana for a Dragon if you used the cards ability, or you can just use it's static ability to give them a slight boost in a Fire-Breathing ability or any other random ability a Dragon would have.

My advice would be to keep this either combo or aggro. You have no way to necessarily win on the spot with Manamorphose (other than bouncing all their permanents, which doesn't necessarily win you the game). You could go more of a storm route with Brain Freeze or even a burn route with Lightning Bolt, if you're going to keep Manamorphose.

What I like about this deck though is the fact that it's more subtle than a typical Training Grounds combo. With Feral Hydra and Feral Animist, it's turned into more of a beatdown deck, which is kinda cool. It's not something that is "unbeatable" in casual play since creatures are easier to kill. (Some players might complain that combo decks are unfair.)

If you go more of the beatdown route, I'd recommend putting in a way to make your guys unblockable. Maybe Distortion Strike, Writ of Passage or Goblin Tunneler? Ceaseless Searblades seems fun if you want to put in more elementals.

Guided Passage is in colors and would be kind of cool, especially if you only have 4x Training Grounds in your deck as the only other noncreature, nonland card. Eventually they'll have to either give you another Guided Passage or Training Grounds.

Well, I wanted to do Combo-Aggro, with a little mix of control here and there because I like to play that way, I guess. Distortion Strike may help, but I do not know what to take out for.

Yie. Guided Passage... Can't beleive I forgot about it. The color cost is risky but I bet it will be amazing since I have a sure-fire way of getting a Training Grounds.

I think I should go for the Burn Route. With Bolt, I can do the Manamorph combo and I can pretty much burn for kill if aggro doesn't help.

    So as of now:

    +2 Guided Passage
    -2 Whirlpool Warrior
    +3 Lightning Bolt
    -2 Power Sink
    -1 Boomerang

My Training Grounds deck to be. I decided to go a little different this time and go for multiple methods of using the Izzet/Mana/Training Grounds trick. If that doesn't happen, I have multiple cards that cost dirt cheap that accumulate, even without the Training Grounds.

I have singles of Boomerang and Explore incase I get the combo off, with 30~ mana, I can use an Explore to pull a R. Tower out to keep my hand, and Boomerang to bounce all threats back. I'm considering a single Reminence so I can actually re-use the combo and take out the R. Tower.

Feral Animist is bonkers with the Training Grounds. Turn 3 I play Animalist, turn 4 I use 4 mana to make his power 4, 8, 16, and 32. Assuming the unlikely event of no response/creatures to stop me are there, but still a good thing indeed.

If an activated or triggered ability would be played from a Dragon permanent you control, if it has a mana cost, you may activate that ability for the first time in the turn without paying its mana cost.
1RR: Target Dragon creature gets +1/+1 until end of turn. If this is the third time this ability has resolved this turn on the same creature, that creature gains trample until end of turn.
The Draconim stretch out as advanced beings of an already superior life form, wanting to make their civilization to that even the ancient would feel alive.
    2/2

I know "Draconim" is not the most original of names, and that this guy may have good synergy with Hellkite Overlord and friends, but I wanted to make something for a Mono-Red Dragon deck could use at a fairly low mana cost.

I use FreeYoutube. It's a little slow when you have larger videos or doing many videos at once but that isn't an issue for me since I'm doing multiple things at once. I find it to be very efficient, and the sound comes out great.

It's a small creature with a lesser Planeswalker's Mischief deal going for it. I like the concept of it, but the fact that it is 1) picking a card at random and 2) making you pay for it while not guarenteed to use it may hinder it's use. However, it lets you know what your opponent has in store for you, and I always thought that "information" cards like Telepathy can have their own use if you are playing the right deck. If you ever do get the play the instant, it can be something useful such as a Lightning Bolt.
I kind of wish you made it Instants and Sorceries, but that would require changing the card's stats a little.

Does it feel like a Mystic? It does have a vibe, since this card gives Mystics the ability to read minds, which seems about right for the class.

Glorious Anthem and Dolmen Gate+. This card isn't bad at all, since it seems like the kind of card that will help out token decks. Having a card like this back in Lorwyn/Shards of Alara standard would like to see this card. The abilities won't win any originality prizes, but they do get an honorable mention for synergy.

Does it feel like a Mystic? Kind of, but you should of put "Mystic" in the creature text, since that was what I was kind of asking for.

A little over the top, with a couple of random abilities, and over the curve. It's a Man-o-War, then it tutors for a card if it dies. It seems like a really good control card, but unfortunately it seems like it can be easily abused with Blink effects and the like.

Does this feel like a Mystic? The Moonfolk was kind of random, since Moonfolks nor Mystic don't really have the kind of abilities you put on...Unless you were trying to put something new for both sides of the spectrum. But either way, this doesn't feel like a Mystic, sorry.

    2/2

Prime candidate for a blue Mystic, especially that of printing another set if they ever do come out. The effect seems very underwhelming though, and it somehow gives me a reminder of the common/uncommon power level of creatures in, say, the Invasion set.

Does it feel like a Mystic? Pretty much, since you did take their only profession to account.

DuesofCalamity. Despite not putting Mystic in the creature type, it wasn't enough to truly peg him down, since his card was pretty solid. Way to go.

Edit: Since Brofaux was late, I'll rate his card anyway:

    Taoist Shifter UG
    Creature - Elf Mystic
    Shroud
~ gets +1/+1 for every spirit creature in your graveyard.
Whenever a spirit creature is put into a graveyard, put a +1/+1 counter on ~.
    1/1

It's a shame you didn't post sooner because I kind of like this card. You gave Mystics a new way to play: With Spirits, which actually makes a lot of sense! It's a guy with Shroud that gets bigger if you play a deck around it or chuck it in a Spirit deck, but thats what it really has going for it. I'm sure in an imaginary limited environment with Spirits, this guy would be nice, but it will only see play in kitchen tables. Really though, the thing that stands out is the new design for Mystics, and I'm always liking new designs.

Does it feel like a Mystic? Sure does.

    Hey, all right.

As for the criteria...for everyone to know: Since there are only seven Mystic creatures in Paper Magic, two being in Portal 3, I urge you all to create something new and unique for the Mystic, or try to dig further to what a Mystic can do from Odyssey and what could really define a creature a "Mystic".

I hope that will give a good idea of what I'm looking for.

From my experiance, Flickering Ward is a great aura because of protection that you can change, and that you can get another card draw engine going with 'dancer.
I'd say you pitch shielding plax, because it's kind of pricey... But that's your call.

Maybe some removal too? I suggest going up on the O Rings and maybe pitching in some Journey to Nowheres.

10 (8 in my sig, but I'm too lazy to update), plus 4 EDH decks.

I could potentially make one of them a Standard deck, but that requires me spending 200$ on cardboard that looks vaguely like an angel.

Based on the fictional Magic set "Roaholan". It is a set geared towards a design that has not really been tapped into yet: Enemy Colors.
It also has it's very own theme of "Latent Powers", in which a creature can be powered up in certain conditions and in due time.

The set has the following mechanics:
    • Enemy Colored cards, along with Wedge colored cards and HHC (Hybrid Hybrid Color) cards like above to fit into a wedge. There won't be any specific ability for each color combo and wedge, except for unique designs fitting for the respective colors. There will be allied-paired card, just not as much as enemy colored.
    • "Latent", an ability that lets the creature start off as an above average vanilla creature, but when conditions are met, can gain a certain ability to make them even more stronger.
    • "Process", a mechanic that makes use of "time counters", and acts as a reverse "vanishing", where you gain time counters up until a certain amount to unlock hidden potential.
    • "Threshold" makes a comeback in this set, geared towards blue and red cards. It can also extend into all the rest of the colors.

Again, Make me a "Mystic" creature card.

  • posted a message on how do you guys feel about Aura Gnarlid?
Gnarlid counts for each Aura on the battlefield, so using stuff like Fertile Ground, Trace of Abundance, Spreading Seas, and Convincing Mirage can power it up while maintaining control. Of course, that's 20 slots taken (given that you are running 4 copies of each) already so it may not be a good idea unless you ditch one of the two (Mirage and Trace.)

Still, Gnarlid with a Ramp build may be something to consider.

Yeah, I looked at your list before I actually constructed it... borrowed some of your ideas beforehand (hope you don't mind that.)

Also, Do-Over-Bump. I'm still in need of suggestions here... I did pick up an All Suns Dawn today for a couple quarters. Seems like a viable re-use tool late game.

Put a colorless creature token that is a copy of target attacking creature blocking that creature. If the attacking creature leaves play, draw a card. Exile the creature token at end of turn.
