I agree it doesn't earn its slot and is one of the cards I am bearish about replacing.
I agree that this card doesn't really earn it's spot, but "bad bob" still plays a roll in lower to the ground decks and I'm fine with running it until they print something strictly better.
Black 3 drops have some sick cards, with super skill intensive plays. I can't see cutting a Flesh Carver, or an Ophiomancer for a card that just dumps and bumps so to speak
Im not too keen on this card. I get that there are ways to play into it so that you don't have to literally do nothing, but I don't play a pod in 360, And Master of the Wild Hunt gives you the same token way more consistently, and doesn't get worse when you actually play magic.
I like the idea but with the card you suggested I think salmo pretty much nailed it. If that cycle is the only fast mana in the cube they would cause the same blow out rate as the power. Its not really the moxen themselves causing the blow out rate as buch as it is the frequency they show up, which you kind of hinted at when you mentioned adding sol, crypt, vault to balance.
So What I'm getting at is if you just substitute bad moxes for moxes your cube will be equally as imbalanced. but if you put bad moxes WITH real moxes the weight goes away because practically everyone will have fast mana.
and In closing I think the best way to "balance" a mox and still have it be a home run is to make it cost 1 and enter tapped.

I wont be sad seeing it leave though haha
That's my question.
Shots fired.
But I agree
Seems like it would play that roll, and blue is super important in most cubes.
not sure but will probably test this.
My thoughts exactly.
Don't touch that Copter.
I Actually like Hulk more than sphinx, but in a vacuum Sphinx is 100% the better card.
I Like Gideon over serra, but they are at two different cmc's so it isn't exactly apples to apples.
And I think Avacyn and AOI are both pretty good, but I play Avacyn Over AOI simply because I think the plays in makes are more interesting.
