My favorite card from Eventide (at this point) is Slippery Boggle. I like it because it has good flavor. It even says so on the card. Seriously.

Was Rootawalla good? I didn't play then. Also could the slasher be good in warriors/elves they aren't going to block him because you can pump so you get to push in more damage?

Wow this show was still good but very long. While it's cool that Gavin won a PTQ, it's even cooler that Monday Night Magic got Rick Roll'D. So far out of Eventide I haven't seen anything impressive other than the filter lands. I still don't understand what the big deal with the basic land in every booster pack is. I guess Jack from North Carolina really loves Bog Hoodlums/Apothecary Initiate.

In response to the comment contest, I would define a casual deck as a deck that's sole purpose isn't to win, but to be enjoyable to play, with success as a secondary motive. It's the deck that you would bring to an FNM or the kitchen table, but not to a PTQ. Can't wait for next week's show.

I have been using dragon shields for a while and they are OK but I was just wondering, what are the best card sleeves on the market?

If I had the opportunity to make a card, I would make this card

    W Frumpy Pigskin

    1/1

    dwarf knight

    lifelink

Frumpy Pigskin has protection from converted mana cost 2 or greater

I just like him because they have to have a 1 drop to take care of him

Tom and Derek awesome show great job!

In response to the big announcements, I really don't care at this point. I will have to see whether the changes have a positive or negative impact on the game before I grow concerned.

Thankfully I have never had any of my cards stolen but that's probably related to the fact that the shopkeeper lets me keep my bag behind the counter, and I don't trade much at large-scale events.

If I had to select one change that scared me it would have to be mythic rares. I draft a lot and I have a feeling that I won't enjoy getting smashed by Sarkhan Vol

Well the show was OK but I think what we all learned today is that Tom is the spoon that stirs the MTGCast goodness. Without Tom things get lumpy and burn, like when you leave soup on the stove and don't stir it. Also I'm not going to lie when Gavin's mom called him it was ridiculously awesome.

In regards to the comment contest I would Probably spend the 25 dollars on any card with pit or imp in the name because Tom is the master. If there was any left after that I would probably just buy like a swans of Bryn Argoll or some sideboard cards.
    All hail Tom the spoon.

Great show you guys. I especially like the parts when you guys talked about draft but I would like to see more Showdowmoor focused discussion.
Although opening money is nice, my favorite pack is probably the one I opened last night while drafting with my friends. It was an English pack with a random Spanish Somnomancer in it. I was tempted to take it but the flame javelin was just so much better in my deck.

And on the other question I generally use my pro-player cards as ninja throwing stars.

I felt like the Harmonizes were necessary because If they wrath late-game and your hand is depleted you cant rely on top-decking to have a decent chance at winning. I might consider masked admirers instead but still drawing three cards feels important

Favorite memory was watching a guy lose a match in the fourth round of the Futuresight pre-release by forgetting to pay for his slaughter pact. He would have been 4-0 Pretty Awesome.

Good show as always. I agree with most everyone that the sound quality was a little iffy at certain parts.

I cannot really narrow it down to one reason, why I play magic that is. It just a really great game. It's a fun strategical exercise for one's mind. On the other side I play magic because its a great way to meet new people and Magic teaches people manners. I have learned to respect people and have become more comfortable around other people because its kind of a requirement to play magic. Those of you who have ever been to a tournament know that you meet new people that you might not like every hour. Most importantly, magic taught me to be a good sport. There is no down side to magic for me. If I lost then I probably learned a lesson, and if I won I applied a lesson and hopefully taught someone else something. Great job and keep up the good work.
