pariah enchants mogg maniac. both creature and pariah are under my control. I cast volcano hellion. no effects. hellion enters the battlefield and I choose lethal damage for myself and mogg maniac. my opponent uses removal on mogg maniac and removing pariah in the process. Is damage dealt to me, or is it assigned to mogg maniac in spite of it being removed?
My thought is that because pariah generates a continuous effect, both creature and player damage is assigned to mogg maniac. all the removal does is prevent mogg maniac's ability from resolving against my opponent.
