posted a message on 2012 [Clan Mono-Black] BYOS Tournament (BMP WINS!)
Before I begin, I would like to graciously thank the Clan Mods for allowing us the privileged to host our annual tournament int he Clan Forum.

I would like to invite you all into the Phyrexian Arena to stand up for the honor of your clan. All clan members and mods are welcome to participate in a tournament of sorts, where only one champion can be crowned.

Disclaimer:This tournament and participation on it has no bearing on the Clan of the Year, Clan Contests, or any other official clan happenings. This tournament is volunteer only and is only designed for members from all clans to come, play some Magic, and have a good time.

The Format: Build Your Own Standard
    Quote from WOTC »

Have you ever wondered what Standard would have been like had Fifth Edition been the core set while the Mirrodin block was legal? Or how Ravnica block would have combined with Lorwyn block? Build Your Own Standard lets players experience exactly that!

Each player chooses a core set (Tenth Edition, Ninth Edition, etc.) and two blocks (Time Spiral block, Ice Age block, etc.) to create their own Standard world. Build Your Own Standard is the perfect opportunity to create your own world for exploring what could have been.

Blocks permitted ranger from Ice Age up to Return to Ravnica.
Core Sets Permitted range from 5th Edition to Magic 2013

BANNED CARDS (your deck may not contain any copies of the following cards)
The ban list is a compilation of all cards banned in Legacy, Modern, and in Block Formats. STANDINGS
    PLAYERS [CLAN AFFILIATION] (Match Results):

*snip* Current Standings are in the latest Round Post. Final standings will be updated at the end of the tournament.

ROUND 1 By MONDAY, DECEMBER 10TH, 2012 AT 8:00 PM EST.
ROUND 2 By MONDAY, DECEMBER 17th, 2012 at 8:00 PM EST.

What if my opponent doesn't respond to me?
If your opponent does not respond within 2-3 days of your request, forward Sir Auron25 the initial PM to play and I, the tournament organizer, will also message that player. If that player continues to be unresponsive by the end of the round, the player who had attempted communication will receive a 2-0 win.
What if we attempt to play, but our schedules do not pan out?
If both players contact each other and attempt to set up play times that all pan through by the end of the week, both players are responsible for messaging Sir Auron25. If no match is played during this time, the match will be considered a draw.

Disconnections? How are we addressing them?
This has been a touchy subject in the past. The current ruling will be one disconnection per match will be deemed an accident. Null that game and start anew. A second disconnection by an individual player will be a game loss as deeming intent or no intent is difficult online. A third and they will forfeit the match. Please save Game Logs to prove this. One step further on Disconnections. If it has been noted that an individual player is consistently having disconnections each round, they will be suspended from the tournament.

Should a disconnection happen at an opportune time and a player suspects cheating, please refer the case and Game Logs to me and I, along with others will judge it and deem it intentional or not. This should be the case if, for example, player A disconnects when Player B is about to swing for lethal damage. Things like this should be noted and brought to my attention.
