    My Madcap Moon List:

    Mainboard

    Sideboard

Piloting this for the past 2ish months to 9 FNM's at my LGS. 3-1 four times and 4-0 three times and 3-0-1 twice. Tweaked the list back and forth from izzet charms and electrolyzes in place of spell snares, logic knots, and roast but came to this. This deck is tuned for my store meta that has various control decks, creature decks and only a 1 or 2 burn and affinity decks. I would sub out logic knot and/or roast for electrolyze, izzet charms and/or abrade mainboard if the count of those decks rise. My most difficult match ups are thoughtseize/hard removal decks and humans can be very annoying if they name well with meddling mages or make a creature too big to deal with.

    Some card choice reasons;

Wandering Fumerole replaced 1 Desolate Lighthouse and it has won me several games. I kept drawing lighthouse in multiples and fumerole plays nice role in the matchups where lighthouse is good too. Play test it to see if it does the same for you.

Everytime I have resolved a Hazoret the Fervent against any control based deck I win that game if I'm not dead the following turn. Very nice and way better than Keranos, God of Storms IMO.

3 Anger of the Gods sures up all creature matches for me and stops humans from getting out of control too quickly. You can easily run
2 but I need to draw that card against Humans almost always to have a chance unless I Blood Moon them and destroy their Aether Vial with my Abrade.

The 2 Spell Snare have been hit or miss. Great against some decks and literally a blank card against others. I believe this would be the first card I would like to cut to help game 1's against some different decks.

Thanks for reading and any advice or tech is greatly appreciated. Questions about the deck are welcome too Grin

I myself have a %35 win rate against naya burn at around 40 matches. Compared to infect which is %42 win rate. I try and tailor my board to it and still lose... WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!?!?!? ..btw I am playing a bring to light version comparable to current setup.

That is quite low as BTL, could you post your list and sideboard plan? I'm running around 60% win rate against Burn on MTGO myself with BTL.

there are so many better shells that play chalice... the tron decks playing chalice are just trying anything to be relevant. you can tell a deck is struggling when it is taking parts of good decks in the format and adds a few here and there XD (i.e. TKS and Chalice)

I said I had a 30% win rate with the deck and I was called a bad player. Prepare your anus.

P.S. Obviously the deck isn't right for you and you just aren't playing it well.

    P.P.S. You scrub.

Hi. I just recently retired ad nauseam and moved from that to mono blue tron and u/w gifts but the same decks give me trouble and I want to beat the bricks out of the decks that used to beat me while also having a favorable match up in others Grin

Im guessing this deck has a high learning curve with the different lines you can take but im willing to practice and learn. I have a few questions I'd like to ask

What are our worst match ups? (below 50% winrate)
What are our VERY bad match ups? (below 30% winrate)
How does the deck feel in the current meta?
Does the deck have many flex spots or only a few cards are interchangable?
Any other things you think I should know before building this on MTGO and eventually paper?

Look forward to the responses Grin

If this deck was so amazing why isn't it tier 1?

It wasn't so long ago that people said the same thing about Lantern control. And it wasn't long before that that people said the same thing about Amulet Bloom. And it wasn't long before that that people said the same thing about Living End. Need I continue? There will always be objectively great decks in Modern where the power level and synergy of the deck is high; look no further than Affinity or Infect if you want to see this. But you should try to remember that playing the best deck in the format has its price. People will not play decks without a plan against you, they will pack specific hate for you in sideboard, and they will have an overwhelming amount of experience playing against your deck, to the point that they have your list memorized. If you want to play the strongest decks, go for it! No one is stopping you. Just don't think for a second that there aren't dozens of viable decks outside of tier 1 that can crush you and your established lists with a skilled pilot. No one thought Bant Spirits would do it, no one thought Skred Red would do it, and no one thought Bloomless Titan would do it, but they did.

Blue Tron is an incredible deck that plenty of us have had an enormous degree of success with. Was it because our opponents didn't understand the deck? Probably. Was it because our opponents sideboarded improperly? Yep. Was it because no one is concerned about Blue control decks in Modern? You betcha. These things are all part of the game, and we exploit them. If you don't like the deck then go play more solitaire.

tron has been around for 100 years there is a reason why this thread has over a million reviews... also amulet, lantern, etc were respected very quickly. I said "I am not trying to discourage people not to play Mono Blue Tron" in my first post. People want to put me down and hurt my feelings and it isnt cool. im so sad right now. I thought the magic community was lovable and helpful.... this is making me very scared and sad. i feel alone.

You can say I have "ran bad" but I just do not like where the deck is for competitive play.

There are many of us here with great win rates on U Tron, myself included. I think there's been one tournament I've played in locally that I didn't top 8, out of at least 15. 2 of these were big tournaments with 50+ people.

Don't blame our deck for your poor performance with it.

if this deck was so amazing why isn't it tier 1? Mono Blue Tron is on no ones radar which is a big reason why win rates are increased.

Der fiend is getting it!!! He's spot on with snow covered islands. I take it a step further and run uw talismans just to play the mind game of us having white.

ok ok. ill get some snow covered islands. but just one!

just did a 5-0 comp league. hopefully they post the list in the next day or so, but its been a standard list ive been using +- 1 card for a bit. beat 2 burn, 2 dredge, and lantern in this league.

speaking of good match stats: (notable ones)
    7-1 vs dredge
    8-6 vs burn
    4-1 vs bant eldrazi

    bad side:
    0-5 vs merfolk
    2-4 vs infect
    0-3 vs spirits (wtf?)

I am running a list very close to your 5-0 list and I have a 30% win rate with the deck. Here are my records.

    Burn: 2-12 of 14
    RG/GW Tron: 1-9 of 10
Death and Taxes: 1-7 of 8
    Combo: 4-10 of 14
    Lantern: 0-4 of 4
    Dredge: 2-15 of 17
    Infect: 0-7 of 7
    Grixis Control: 2-11 of 13
    Grixis Delver: 2-7 of 9
    Jeskai Control: 1-3 of 4
    Scapeshift: 2-6 of 8
    Eldrazi: 4-7 of 11
    Rogue: 5-9 of 14

I was looking for a new deck after moving away from Ad Nauseam so I figured I'd try Mono Blue Tron. When switching to a new deck I like testing it against the current meta. You can say I have "ran bad" but I just do not like where the deck is for competitive play. I'm not even sure if this deck has a easy match up. I am not trying to discourage people not to play Mono Blue Tron I just want to get my experience with the deck out there and discuss the ways the deck needs to go or the direction I need to take for my next deck. Cheers.

Looking for someone to help me come up with the best Tron iteration that DOES NOT use Karn. Personally I think Karn is one of the weakest cards in Tron and am looking to theorycraft a Tron deck (any combo of colors) that best replaces him. Right now all I have got is the G/W Tron list replacing Karn with +1 World Breaker +1 Ugin, the Spirit Dragon and +2 Blessed Alliance. If you want to chime in and tell me why there is "no way" any Tron deck will not work without Karn I will see what you have to say. Thanks. I'll be here waiting for responses!

I would recommend to go back on a lower curve:
    - 2/3x Garruk, Primal Hunter
    - 4x Oath of Nissa
    - 4x Explore vs Sylvan Scrying

I've tested this, does work well. You need explore to hit more often a turn 3 - 4 lands (one green and tron), and garruk PL in general (not just this one), are you best bet below 7cmc card.

    interesting concept. any other suggestions?
