It's brutal. I've only toyed with it a little, but it does well against storm, dredge, workshop, storm/oath/belcher etc. 5cc, blue control, it's really good. Any advice for side boarding? LD to take out the Cavern of Souls if you're using control, Pyroclasm for slight board clearing, and that's about all I've got.
Mana Confluence is better than City of Brass in vintage. Somebody already mentioned why, Rishadan Port and Tangle Wire. This card will truly replace City of Brass, because nobody prevents damage from City of Brass in vintage, I've never once came across that. The only functional card I can imagine for that would be Urza's Armor. Maindecking an Urza's Armor is a bad idea for most decks. Maybe it would work in Workshop, but I haven't seen many 5 color workshop decks, but then there are still Gemstone Mine and Glimmervoid.
Somebody also brought up playing City of Brass and Mana Confluence in one deck. Try using 8 pain lands just to get a feel for it, you'll regret it. I try not to use 8 fetch lands in the same deck if possible.
I apologize if it has already been mentioned, but Caltrops pretty much ruins this deck, and of course Pyroclasm. Expect people to start SB'ing, and definitely plan on SB'ing against them. I have to get to bed for work, no time to read this whole thread.
I always end up getting bored and running a BoW deck. It wins with other casual players, and even stands a chance every now and then against serious players, since it has a solution for everything.........just kinda hard to find that solution with a 300 card deck. Grim Reminder is a fun card to throw in it, it's just a fun deck to play really. Throw in every possible combo you can think of and cross your fingers really. Tutors to search for cards that let you tutor for the BoW, it's kind of a plausible deck to be honest.
Tons and tons of choices here, what would be some good cards for Battle of Wits? Maybe you can help me realize a few that I hadn't noticed before, or maybe a different strategy than just 5 color finger crossing.
I'd say you're better off running some flashback cards in that type of deck, if you count on using Gush in order to discard. Deep Analysis would be a good example. Not sure how viable this would be, but maybe it'll help you brainstorm further.
Count Chocula. Sutured Ghoul+2 Phyrexian Dreadnaught or any other big creatures. There's the 13/13 Krosan Cloudscraper or whatever it's called. I played a deck with this for a while, it's funny to hit someone with a 26/26 trampling creature on turn 2, but it's also putting all your eggs in one basket. Alot of disruption is needed for that deck to work properly.
Protean Hulk+that stupid sliver that gives other slivers haste and that other stupid sliver that gives other slivers venomous 3 kills people...........fast...............real fast, like turn 1 fast.........sigh. I hate this deck.
You could go more aggro with Aven Mindcensor. It shuts down alot of T1 decks that only utilize several board clearing cards. Bomberman isn't really that good anymore to be honest. People are learning that Spellshock shuts down combo/storm decks really well, myself included
