Serum is a problem card in a deck with 10 fetchlands indeed, but you need to take into account that tools such as mishra's bauble and street wraith allow it to be a very potent option that other decks cant have. It is usually said that you should fetch first then serum, but I do recognise that there are a lot of situations in which it is not really the correct thing to do, as for example against burn you have to fetch very carefully. If you are not sold on the power of serum, you can try opt, but i would advise against making them into mishra's and thought scours. Scours are cool, but in such a threat light deck, it can be crucial to avoid milling a shadow or a fish. Ben Jhones is currently at 3 baubles, 3 scours and 3 serums and i find that combination very smooth and convenient.

I believe we were the best positioned control deck against kci due to counterspells + kolaghans, and that we didnt make any costy commitment in the sideboard to fight it. Ceremonious Rejection and Disdainful Stroke, as well as Surgical extraction were our main tools for the match and we already had enough good reasons to pack them with dredge, tron, hardened scales, storm and other friends. I played the same sideboard before the deck existed and never felt too dragged behind, and i do believe we have nothing to react to. As far as the deck is concerned. The decks that arise from the disappearance of kci are another beast. I am expecting Boggles back, so keep your Engineered Explosives close.

I'm talking about a yesterday's tweet, in which he has two Liliana of the veil and a jace in the board.
So, for grindy matchups you say, but he has it in the board over the forth snapcaster...

I am not arguing that thoughtseize fits the deck, as i dont play it. I was just trying to give you a reason. If the meta were all-tron i'd defenitively run all four thoughtseize in the mainboard, as they usually go for a few worldbreakers in control heavy metas, and also tron is not that threat dense.

Also bare in mind that thoughtseize does hit kci as well as any other combo deck.

I have recently seen ben johnes (BMJ) being recomended through twitter to try Jace, vryn's prodigy in the sideboard, and i am clueless what it does for us. Anyone?

No clue why you would want to play discard in a control shell, especially against Tron. I'd just run Ceremonious Rejection instead of Thoughtseize.

Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger sends his regards.
