Had a chance to get a couple of games of 1v1 in the other day. Journey to Eternity and Thaumatic Compass were amazing vs The Scarab God both flipped each game way too easily and only once was journey destroyed. Metallurgic Summonings and Docent of Perfection made it to the board a couple of times and did a tremendous job of stalling for time as I typically had at least 2 wizard tokens and a couple of 4/4's and 5/5's. Dualcaster Mage was a little iffy but that's to be expected with the non-guarantee of the right spell to copy at the right time.
Out - Beseech the Queen
Unless I have an early game Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, I haven't been able to cast this at a reasonable time to grab something I really need.
In - Razaketh, the Foulblooded
Why trade a three mana tutor for an 8 mana tutor that's not even guaranteed to get me a replacement card you ask? Because I like making things difficult for myself. But the potential upside seems pretty high. There are 4 token producers in the deck as well as 20 other creatures, so at some point I should have a creature to sacrifice. Another upside is once he's down, his tutor ability can be stacked, which is really helpful when something like Breya, Etherium Shaper is on the table.
Out - Exotic Orchard
In a 4 color deck without more rainbow lands, this doesn't really help much. 39 lands should be enough.
I think you need Endless Horizons, it's one of the few ways you have to help make sure you draw nothing but gas. If it gets removed early it will suck but you do have a lot of ramp and you don't HAVE to grab all your lands.
Forbidden Orchard is nice to force creatures on creature light opponents for Reprecussion as well as be great mana fixing. Since you do have reprecussion in the deck why not have Star of Extinction in there as well?
I made a few changes to the deck amd explanations for the changes in the spoiler list, welcome to any and all suggestions. Keep in mind I do need it to be kind of flexible for 1v1 and multiplayer. I am contemplating having a sideboard for it as well.
Out - Savage Knuckleblade
Originally I had knuckleblade in because it's cheap to cast and has some utility with it's abilities as well as being able to return to hand for a recast, but if I'm gonna combo with Paradox Engine I might as well make it as easy as possible with Palinchron
In - Palinchron
Out - Maelstrom Wanderer-
With the addition of Palinchron as a repeatable cast along with Grinning Ignus and Capsize I don't really need the cascades. After all, yidris is supposed to provide the cascades. The haste isn't really worth it at 8 mana imo.
In - Bane of Progress
I felt like the deck needed another wrath for artifacts/enchantments in case Wave of Vitriol gets removed somehow. The fact it comes on a fat stick is pretty nice as well.
Out - Bear Umbra
The untapping is definitely helpful for our cascades, but with the inclusion of rivals; I'd much rather have Journey to Eternity. When it falls off it becomes mana and source of repeated recursion that doesn't exile
Out - Warstorm Surge
It's a duplicate effect I don't really need
Out - Fevered Visions
It is a nice card, but I don't feel like the damage is quick enough for what I want to do. Maybe it would work better in a punisher style build.
In - Ral Zarek
All of his abilities are solid for what this deck wants to do.
Out - Beacon of tomorrows
A great card but is not necessary, the lack of other Timewarp effects also makes this less appealing to me as there won't be many opportunities to abuse it.
In - Baral's Expertise
It's a nice tempo swing card that doesn't scream kill me now that casts a good portion of the deck for free. Also if I'm not mistaken you may pay additional costs as you cast the free spell.
I kind of want to find room for Manamorphose as a card to exile with Isochron Scepter. Though I feel like it would just be a dead card most of the time.
Looking to build a Licia Sanguine Tribune and need some ideas, mardu isn't my usual part of the color pie, there's a few cards I know that I want in, like Kambal, Consul of Allocation and the appropriate mana rocks. I want to try and make a deck that punishes opponents for swinging in, using something like Boros Battleshaper to force an opponent to swing into a Phyrexian Obliterator
I have a similar issue, my only deck right now is Yidris, Maelstrom Wielder and my turns can take a while depending on my hand, if I get my cascade trigfers and have any card draw, it usually takes a while before I end my turn. Especially seeing as I run a lot of tap effects to abuse with Paradox Engine as well as untap all my mana rocks.
Looking for some tips and suggestions as to how to make the kill quicker, not sure what to trade out for what, Hypersonic Dragon could be Vedalken Orreryinstead, but why not both?
if I have Paradox Engine and Guilded Lotus on the battlefield and I cast Shardless Agent, engine triggers to untap the lotus, but my question is, after it untaps, can I tap the lotus again to produce more mana before the spell that gets cascaded into gets cast so that it will untap again for the cascaded spell
from all the amonkhet story line I've read, and what I know about bolas, it seems that he was likely farming for planeswalkers to have as loyal slaves. tezzeret betrayed him because he had a life before bolas and did not want to stay a thrall of bolas. same for sarkhan, but, imagine a plane literally dedicated to him, where people actively strive towards death, which is what typically ignites the planeswalkers spark.
so, he takes control of the planes, twists their rituals into a way to weed out the unworthy that won't have a spark ignited, then razaketh, who has been waiting and watching the plane for bolas, tells him of anyone who may have sparked and walked away. He now has someone whose entire life has been dedicated to him that can travel between planes.
had Samut not discovered the stuff she had, she may very well have been the walker that bolas wanted. this is assuming I'm right with all this of course.
I've been working on my own version for a while now, and Key to the City works very nicely, you can thin your hand quick and easily , it also plays very well with Archfiend of Ifnir and you dont have to draw a card if you want to stay hell bent. Ghirapur Orrery was ok I felt, but that's probably because I didn't actually get the draw off of it as much as I wanted.

Goes infinite with Rite of Replication. Even if I don't have Purphuros, God of the Forge on the battlefield, an army of 2/2's should be good enough. The best part is you can grab both pieces with Mystical Teachings alone.

Removal and defense all in one. A solid defensive card to go with Maze of Ith, Sandwurm Convergence and Glacial Chasm.
