How many people are still splashing green? Most lists I see on mtgo and other places have dropped green completely.

Wow reading the translated names of the cards really made me think lol.
I'm thinking of adding a sweeper to my sb. Probably a verdict. I also much prefer path to push. Not sure i'm going to hop on the censor train just yet.
What do y'all think of the japanese list?

Just a small correction, you will die during cleanup to state based action if you ad nauseam'd and only cast angels grace (assuming drawing your library put you negative).

I`m new. Anything I should know about executing the regular Lab Man kill? I`ve gotten all my wins with Lightning Storm so far, so I don`t seem to get practice with Lab Man. What`s the sequencing like? Any pitfalls I should know? Should I usually wait until I can cantrip into a win the same turn, or am I better off letting him sit around for a turn cycle and rely on Pact to protect him?

    Thanks a lot in advance.

It really depends. Can you win in the same turn? Great. Does he have to sit for a turn again? Usually this is harder game 1 when the opponent has lots of dead removal in hand. I've been in situations where I drew my deck and didn't win until the following turn. Gotta shape a good 7. Usually angels grace pact etc. There are some cool tricks you can end up doing too like lab man on field, slaughter pact thought-knot for an instant speed win.

Went 3-1 again. Seems to be my lucky numbers.

Round 1 vs eldrazi tron 0-2
Just drew like booty. Never saw combo piece. Game 2 I exiled both win cons with spoils.

    Round 2 vs B/G rock 2-0
He kept hands with no disruption.

Round 3 vs grixis control 2-1
Game 1 I got thought seized and an early tasigur :0
Games 2 and 3 mystical teachings MVP.

Round 4 vs vizier combo 2-0
Game 1 turn 4. Game 2, he made a misplay by attacking with his tidehollow holding my ad naus and I proceeded to win. I think he wanted to grab a pridemage, and shoot my unlife after lethal, but he didn't side it in. Still, he didn't need to attack with it to put me below 0.

Overall good night. Thinking about adding the 7th scry land.

If I remember correctly, his team mates were playing lands and bg delirium. Not sure why he chose to remove prisms. He is an amazing ad naus player though. Still managed to get 4th along with his team of course.

On another topic, for the non wish version, what do we consider SB staples, and noteworthy?
For me, leyline, echoing truth and slaughter pact are musts. Leyline for burn, thought-knot, and discard, echoing truth for opposing leylines, worship, pithing needle, slaughter pact for thalia, revoker, gaddock, spellskite. etc etc.

Noteworthy, i'm running paths over fatal pushes. Don't really care about giving opponent lands. Exile is so relevant. Plus its hard to trigger revolt. Timely reinforcements is absolutely nuts for buying time. Which is pretty much all we need to win when were not initially drawing combo. Been trying Godhead of Awe. It's been either great or dead draw. Best vs bant eldrazi imo, especially when they side out removal. Ended up cutting it.

What y'all think about Nicholas Byrd's latest list? Whir of invention seems cool. He dropped all pentad prisms though.. There are at least 2 blood moon decks in my meta, I couldn't drop them. I also think he maindecked leyline to hedge against death's shadow? The mentor in the side is something new to me too. Still running fetches though :/ I'm against library shuffling in this deck. I guess it's better when you're not running spoils.

Link for reference since I'm on my phone.

Blood moon yes. I play both grishoalbrand and ad nauseam. You can bring in chalice to catch blooms or mess up can trips.

any thoughts on removing two pact of negation from the mainboard and replacing them with censor. Its a counterspell at times, but can also be cycled to dig deeper if need be. works with laboratory maniac as well.

Not sure I like that. One of the main reasons I chose this deck was the synergy with pact. Countering for free is pretty good last I heard.. plus it still cost 1 mana like serum.

    Went 3-1 again.

Round 1 vs grixis control 2-0
I lent my friend my control deck, and I just had lots of time to set up a good hand.

Round 2 vs esper control 2-1
Great games. I had enough time to shape my hands and have a war. Esper charm is pretty inconvenient.

    Round 3 vs burn 2-1
I realized a misplay I made at 4 life. Eidolon on board, bloom coming off suspend, I should have angel's grace on bloom trigger, then cast bloom. I cast bloom which put me at 2, then couldn't cast grace into ad naus.

    Round 4 vs burn 1-2
Just a quick note, this burn player and the last one were both running angel's grace sb. That card is tough to beat.

Edit: how do we beat angels Grace? Save a hand of pacts graces and Lab man and just try to win next turn again?

    Went 3-1 last night.

    Round 1 vs b/w taxes 2-1
All I remember was game 3 ripping the ad nauseam off the top after fogging a few turns with angel's grace.

Round 2 vs bant coco 1-2
Game 1 was a fast hand. Game 2 I got cheeky and kept a no land 6 with bloom and 4 cantrips and unlife, never drew land lol. Game 3 he had all the counters.

    Round 3 vs b/w tokens 2-1
Game 1 was grindy, he ripped my hand apart, but I kept fogging above 1 life with an unlife. Finally drew spoils for ad naus on last draw step before lethal.
Game 2 I kept a 6 hand with no leyline, and kind of just durdled with combo in hand at 3 mana. Game 3 mystical teachings insulated me from any discard and I got there.

    Round 4 vs mono w humans 2-0
Game 1 turn 4. Game 2, he plays stony before lotus comes off, and I had the echoing truth in hand already to bounce it eot, and combo off.

I'm re evaluating my sb plan against the bant creature decks.
    I'm on the spoils/teachings list.

Just want to back this up. In general, once a spell starts resolving no one can do anything until that spell resolves. Your opponent claimed he could exile during ad nauseam? No. -_-

Edit: if you do shortcut and just pick up your deck, be aware that your opponent can look at whatever you reveal with ad naus.

What is the general consensus on patrician's scorn vs wear/tear vs disenchant? Also, i'm on darkness/etheral fogs.. Does anyone have experience with pollen lullaby? The scry and clash seem great.

Played a 5 round tonight, went 3-2, lost to fish and to my self (against ponza).

    vs Burn 2-0
    Nourishing shoal puts in work.

    vs Fish 0-2
This guy runs 3 mb spell pierce.

    vs Jeskai 2-1
Game 1, resto, snap beats, with lots and lots of answers.
Game 2, I tried to goryo with nothing in my graveyard.. haha. Somehow I stay focused enough to get there.
Game 3, he tapped out on t2 for isochron scepter on snare, and I had the t2 kill.

    vs Tron 2-0
Game 2, he surgical'd bobo and griselbrand, but I was already on track for the the breach worm plan.

    vs Ponza
I straight lost to myself. Could have easily drew 7 and passed the turn, but I got greedy for the instawin both games. Lesson learned.
