Thank you so much for the responses. I'm sort of at the intermediate level of magic at this point and appreciate any discussion/counseling I can get. I just got done with my work week and I'm going to play the league today on magic online. I know the mana is ludicrous but I'm really just trying to make the pool work because I don't really have much going on in any of the colors except blue which is my deepest overall. I might have a somewhat serviceable wg curveout sort of deck but I just can't see playing it over at least demon+ Chandra but then the problem is I really don't have enough playables to be 2 color. If I'm going more blue I can switch drake with skywhale cut sabotage and add tezzerets ambition or alternatively switch in the blue for green( have longtusk cub, rhino, appetite)just for more consistency and ability to survive a few extra turns to draw into my intensive mana requirements. But thankfully I was given some good feedback here to confirm my initial thoughts that the red leaning just wouldn't work and turtle might be a bit betta with an extra island if I do go with the more blue strategy in which case I'm basically black blue control with a red splash which seems like it could sort of run decently with some lucky draws since my low end especially with the colorless plays isn't terrible and if I can crew copter and loot away whatever 3rd mountain or bomb I don't have mana for it might be a solid 2-1 deck I'm hoping for stage 1 of the friendly sealed league I'm playing I will absolutely take a look at the possibility of a more consistent deck but yeah it's kinda chaffy I just got some good rares
The pool was bomb laden but I don't have much support in the bomb colors which are Black(Demon of Dark Schemes) and Red(Chandra) but I am going to play both. And a blue splash for saheelis artistry and some more creatures.
The base I have is 1x Spirebluff Canal, 8x Swamp, 5x Mountain, 4x Island. 18 lands.
Or should it even be a 9th black source?
I wasn't sure if it would be better balanced with a 5th Island. But I wanna make sure I can cast Chandra in most games and the incendiary sabotage would be great on turn 4 but can also be decent later. Consulate Skygate is good main I think for artifact count and durdle but wish I had a Filigree Familiar or Prism in the pool. Decent card selection tho with the copter together with the constructs and the Quicksmith Genius. I have a tezzeret's ambition or a cathartic reunion that I wouldn't mind finding a slot for but I don't know what to cut especially with only 14 creatures. Need advice.
Hey everybody, I'm thinking of buying a decklist and taking it to an FNM event. I really want to play the B/G Seasons Past deck Finkel used in Pro Tour SOI before the Origins cards rotate out but I'm also considering temurge and B/G delirium. Seasons past is what I'm leaning towards for budgetary reasons and because this is my first competitive magic event and I think it would be fun to try out in standard before rotation. That being said , I have a few questions to help me decide whether I wanna pull the trigger on buying this particular list.
1. Are there any new cards in EMN that improve on the B/G Seasons Past shell?
2. Are there any new top standard decks or additions to decks that completely womp on B/G SP. There's a lot of ramp going on with the new delirium based decks and I'm just curious if you think it still has the late game advantage and would put up a decent result if I run into any. I could also see Emrakul's Mindslaver ability as a big problem for Seasons Past itself, i.e. Cast it and choose not to return anything from the yard, or dark petitioning a land something along those lines.
3. Any tune ups to the decklist for the new format? infinite obliteration is a must against eldrazi ramps, maybe play 2x? I could see Sultai seasons past control being powerful against this field, would it be worth it to splash blue and include Summary Dismissal, and some counter magic for Coax?? Probably in the sideboard? Thx
