The Acidic Slime+ Temur Sabertooth combo is always an option. 7 mana for one land is a bit expensive, but if youre looking at a devotion deck based around land destruction then you stsrt getting into Panharmonicon and Sylvan Primordial territory where you can feasibly start swinging tons of land destruction, maybe even Ghost Quarter to test their basic count. Add Prime time and you start to shape up a deck that could be a serious thing. Later game you could have Terastadon (i dont personally like it, but potential) and Sundering Titan hits shocks....

Pardon my asking here, but is it not true that in the State of the Meta thread, almost everybody was asking for better control decks? Is it not true that many, many, MANY players, both professional and not have expressed major dislike of the fact that to be competitive you have to build these non-interactive combo or combo-esque style decks? Many naming Infect, Suicide Zoo, and other similar decks as the examples?
So wizards bans a card that takes care of Infect and suicide Zoo, making said combo decks harder to win with and making it easier to play a midrange/control deck and all everybody wants to do is say that theyre quitting for the attempt at moving a format toward the style of play that the majority of players say they wish that they could have?

The cards have a good synergy, and you dont have to deal that much damage to them directly, they are going to block, and there are cards specifically for gaining large ammounts of life (two mechanics, the blessing, and part of blessed alliance)
The turn four do nothing kinda sucks sometimes, but the deck does more than just lifelink.

So when Kaladesh spoiled i was all in on brewing reservoir. Ive played storm in all of its versions. The colossus artifact version, the paradoxical outcome cheeri0s version. UW prison. And have come to a resounding conclusion. Storm is not where reservour wants to be in standard. The storm lists are all too weak to something and dont compete very well. So if you want to brew reaervoir where do you go?

I have the answer. Mono White aggro.
The decklist seems very weak, but it preforms surprisingly well.
(Apologies for no card tags, my phone sucks and its way too much of a hassle to make them)
    Chaplains blessing
    Aviary mechanic
    Ninth bridge patrol
Lone rider/ it that rides as one
    Dazzling reflection
    Blessed alliance
    Filigree familiar
    Acrobatic maneuver
    Stasis snare
    Aetherflux reaervoir
    Odric Lunarch Marshal
    Gisela, the Broken Blade
    Angel of Invention
    And Wispweaver Angel.
The idea being smash them hard, odric into a ton of lifelink and build life into just hitting for lethal or Deathstarring for the win.
There are a few loops built in for long games. Wispweavers bouncing each other to buff Patrol, Mechanics bouncing each other for late game where you need a storm-esque route to win, Gideons will find a way in once i get the money, but currently no coppies.
This is weak to some combo decks, Marvel is difficult, but with it becoming more of a control deck and needing Marvel less, it is becoming easier,
    Flash is challenging but manageable,
Delirium isnt too bad, although Ishkanah can make it difficult.
And aggro mirrors like Mardu or RW are easy most of the time.

    My question is this.
Whats with the obsession that control has to lose to aggro? In my experience the point of control was to slow down the early game until it can start to take over and win. And control versus aggro have always been idealized matches due to the "can control slow it enough to take over?" aspect of the match.
There is no reason control should auto-lose to aggro.
No it shouldnt dominate everything, but Jund is moderns control deck because it has game versus everything and it can keep aggro decks down until it can grind the win.
    Or am i missing something?

Khalni hydra is wicked devotion, but is very underwhelming when you play it in my experience. The 8/8 body is better replaced with Titan

Sabertooth is best paired with slime.

so what about a set of counterspells that both cost one blue.
    "Burden of thought"
    Cost: U
Counter target spell unless its controller pays its mana cost.

This would be insanely powerful early, punishing multicolor and aggro decks.
It would force them to slow play their Goblin Guide and the such. Making early game counters viable, and staying relevant late game but much less powerful.

    "Weight of thought"
    Cost: U
Counter target spell unless its controller pays life equal to its converted mana cost.

This not being super powerful in the early game, it becomes super relevant in the late game and forces them to make tough decisions "can i survive if i pay?"

The two paired would give a good early and late game counter.
Maybe too good? Just a draft that, maybe could be interesting.

Has anybody tried Shamanic revelations? Its a five drop so a bit of an issue but it lets you use mana well if youre into a grindier area of the game (where i put a lot of emphasis in my deck because i know itll survive to that point in most games) by letting you see a lot more cards and potentially net you tons of life if played at the right moment. Its not able to tutor like Command can but it does have the ability to gain you tons of life and see quite a few cards in the process.
    Yes? No?

Does the ramp work for you?
Do you enjoy it more than tokens?
If you were to take out parts of either the ramp or tokens aspects of the deck, what would you cut and how would it hurt? Also how would it help?
Basically, if you enjoy playing it, it works for you and its as good as it can be, play it all day long. To bridge the gap between ramp and tokens a bit, Hornet queen is great. Put a Temur Sabertooth to bounce the queen and you can have something hard to overcome. Also Frontier Siege to make a hornet token fight Worldspine is a possibility

Inferno Titan does a much better job clearing the board Primeval Titan I don't see the point and I think it's been tested out before in the early days and mixed with Inferno. We usually good on lands and don't need more with Primeval Titan[/quote]
Inferno titan is great at putting strain on blockers and life total,
And yes, while you dont necessarily need lands off of Primeval titan it does serve a major purpose in your game plan. Even if you dont need more land, searching for them lowers you density of non-threats, or non-LD spells. Two lands a turn doesnt seem like a lot of "thinning" the percentages of drawing a card you need go up by large margins when you search. So Titan is useful even if you dont really need more land
