So do we think we can mainboard a Dead of Winter just by switching to snow basics to help our matchups against the "fair" creature decks? I really think that card on a -2 will greatly reduce their pressure, and at -3 or better will just completely wipe them...
What do you think about adding Cyclonic Rift? Maybe 1 or 2, instead of a Snapback and/or a Void Snare. Since the deck is slow, we could potentially cast it for it's overload cost, cleaning the board during the oppo's EOT.
I've been trying this for my last couple of leagues. I, like a lot of others, have noticed that Snapback is cast for two most of the time anyways, so why not add the flexibility Rift gives in that spot to hit any permanent, or better yet, ALL permanents?
Melek has his spots in less competitive metas or if you’re really leaning into the copying ability, but if you’re just looking to be able to essentially have one or eighty extra cards in your “hand” off the top of your deck, the field is better.
I've been testing this card in my tuned Jace deck for a little while now. It's literally too easy to create infinite colorless in that deck, but sometimes you don't have the means to get your wincon. If this is on the field, you can just sink that mana into your top deck by casting/ex-milling until you get what you need. It's a great and under appreciated addition.
Yeah I decided pretty early that I wanted it to be a primal surge deck, so I’ve trimmed as many non permanents as possible and it has paid off well. Even if I cast it early and don’t get but a few things it just sets me up so well to endure into the long game.
I did have an orrery/leyline/refuge and Seedborn package in, which lead to a want for things like Heliod to dump all of that mana into, but I’ve since taken out that package to put into another deck and to lessen the power of this one.
Those walkers all are great, and I’ve looked at them on and off some, but there are already a couple people with Atraxa decks in my group and a lot of love for many different walkers so I use fewer of them generally just to go against the grain a bit.
I know the deck could be way better by upgrading the mana base, but I’ve kept it as simple as possible to try to keep the deck a little less powerful on purpose. My playgroup is almost excruciatingly casual, so dumbing down the mana base is an easy way to dumb down the deck without just putting bad cards in.
So in the original post you say that Doubling Season et al can create auras on multiple permanents when in fact those cards do not do that. The way Estrid's ability is worded, when the token is created it is already targeting a single permanent. Any extra tokens created by the Doubling Season effects are still created targeting the same permanent. I didn't see this corrected anywhere else in the comments and just wanted to let you guys know. I still run the trio in my Estrid as mine is mostly token based, but if you're using them just to get extra Aura tokens from Estrid, they don't actually do what you're wanting them to.

We need a card that transforms black into red mana to be able to cast the drawn wheel effects. This would enable a very degenerate deck.

Manaforge Cinder[/card] is limited and Agent of Stromgald has the wrong direction.
This build is what I wish mine could be, but my EDH group has a running banlist where a new card is banned every week, and Doomsday/Labman have been talked about as going on the chopping block. Here's my version- http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/breya-mana-shaper/
The bans started out with most fast mana being axed, and has started to move more towards the repeat offender pieces of combo. That's what I love about Breya: ban one piece, there's plenty of different options to take it's place, or just add something in that reinforces one of the other combos in the deck. Fun times.

This. It's slow and bad.

Nissa from the Ob vs. Nissa pack has a -2 that puts a 1/1 on all your creatures. Pretty good with Riskar.
