Mechanics Question: Does Zur, as a Commander, actually go to a graveyard when he dies, allowing Angelic Renewal to activate?
The idea is to have this deck as a Free for All Commander as well as Commander Archenemy, so 2-4 people will be ganging up on it. As such, I am aiming for large removal, lots of card draw, lots of enchantments, enchantment synergy, and especially focused on the theme of the legendary crazy flying monk.
Any suggestions, replacements, missing staples, and/or fixes to land variety?
If it matters, the decks the Archenemy will be fighting are likely the pre-made Commander decks, all years' releases. It will be fighting 3 other people on average.
I am considering dropping Necroptence and Solitary Confinement [as they may prove to be too strong], and Erebos, Phenax and Soverereigns the most, but am open to all wise suggestions.
I play both Magic and D&D 5e and am working toward having the players realize other planes of existence are within reach. I am leaning towards developing modern common only decks themed around the character's personalities and classes. No human or elf cards for any of them, as they don't exist in the game.
To start, I have an Alchemist Golem, who specializes in devices, constructs, and chemicals and a sentient feline druid.
I was thinking an all artifact deck for the golem and green and white plants and animal cards for the feline.
Any thoughts of what particular cards? I would like 60 card decks, with 55 total non lands to choose from and be a sideboard.
I would then, as they level up, add uncommon, rare, and mythic rare cards to their decks.
Choices of those would be great as well. I would assume 16 uncommon, 8 rare, and 2 mythic rare cards eventually.
First, hello to you all and thank you for existing, as I have been reading articles on here for the last eight months. I have not played Magic since Uncle Istvan was a newly released card and got back into the game with my fiance by collecting event decks starting last year.
I am aware those are now gone, but I am interested in continuing our collection by making some myself as new sets come out.
My first question would be is this the right forum to post for theme suggestions, and the second would be is this the right forum to post sample decks of said event themed decks?
If so, I would like to continue making these casual decks with the recent limitations of event decks being eight rares and two mythics, which was what the Zendikar Event Deck had before the product's discontinuation.
The ideas I have are a Blue Green Eldrazi themed event deck for Gatewatch and a Red and Black themed vampire deck for Shadows over Innistrad. I am interested in other suggestions as well.
I will hold off posting any decks building for separate posts.
