I think that Dominaria will be used to set up sleeper points in the plot for the future...something we see or problems that we can push towards but i don't think there will be any major resolutions (except maybe Liliana/Raven Man) Ajani is chilling and waiting for the others...i wouldn't be surprised if when the Gatewatch Gets there he says "hey guys we're gonna go grab elspeth from the afterlife and then go deal with phyrexia...kay?" and that'll lead us in and we'll let bolas sit back as an impending threat.

have you considered adding Dowsing Dagger?it doesn't help with the whole combo plan but it helps get para dox engine early and put counters on pyramid with out it hurting as much...just stick it on a glint nest crane and flip you know

    "Memnarch

Karn reshaped the Mirari as a sentient being, Memnarch. He named Memnarch as the protector of Argentum, and set off with his new planeswalker apprentice, Jeska, to explore planes unknown. Memnarch gradually became more self-aware, and eventually renamed the plane Mirrodin, also populating the hollow world with species from other planes.

After Memnarch's defeat, Karn returned to his plane and melted down Memnarch to his core, revealing the Mirari underneath. It was then left in Argentum in the care of Glissa, Slobad and Geth."

I doubt it is the mirari. It would be cool if it was a functional reprint though. I am having a hard time doing the timeline. I don't know what Slobad ended up. But glissa was last seen as a phyrexian. Geth was probably pro phyrexia at the time. The reason Memnarch went crazy was some droplets of phyrexian oil that leaker out of Karn. (Karns heart was pure phyrexian, stole back in Urza's day.) Glissa, Slobad and Geth, neither of them can planewalk. Kaladesh gate and old phyrexian portals are some of the few known way's to trave between planes for non planewalkers. None of those on Mirrodin. The Praetors would not get rid of it. That leaves Karn mostly, who could have gotten rid of itk, but it sounds dubius.

unless slobad has, since we last saw him ignited or handed it off to someone who could take it away from mirrodin because jesus we don't need the phyrexians to have the mirari, of course i could be totally wrong and the goblins destroyed it forever ago but i would definitely say that it's plausible

So I have passing familiarity with the mirari but from what i do understand of the mirari its a very powerful artifact and that it seriously shifted the way mirrodin was through memnarch. Now that we've seen Powerful Artifacts shift through planes or make it possible to shift through planes is it possible that when glissa and the other guy turned and lost the mirari that it escaped onto ixalan and became the Immortal Sun to them after all it was described that "by a chance encounter the immortal sun was given to emperor Apatzec" could that have been a low level planeswalker stole it to prevent destruction on mirrodin he left it with them. It's a loose theory and i'll do my research to look into it but is it possible...we haven't heard about the mirari for sometime it absolutely could be but still just a theory....thoughts?

I still think Enigma Drake would be better than Bloodwater Entity. Another win-con would be better than another bite at a spell.

I don't think I like the Scorpion God plan in the sideboard. maybe some more counterspells? More removal?

Dude i have four harnessed lightning four lightning strike and four abrade thats like all the removal man and again entity is versatilei don't know how i feel about the scorpion god thing either but i don't have much more removal

Alright well i suppose if we want to push more card draw (and since Renegade Tcatics disgusts me) we can put a couple Cartouche of knowledge which gives our deeproot champion some more evasion so that could be cool and it draws a card so cool

I know removing Bloodwater entity was recommended but i think that it's one of the most versatile cards in this deck, it's a flyer with prowess it returns one of our pumps or a card draw, or removal or even a land with attune with aether it can be really helpful so i've decided we're keeping at least two

now that thats a thing lets start working on that sideboard using some meta and some of your guys' advice

This is an aggro deck drawing inspiration from both miracle grow decks and prowess decks of old.

So this Deck wants to be very Aggressive but is more than capable of playing it defensively until ready to smash. Since our curvetopper is 3 we're sitting at 18 lands with 4 Attunes for fixing and such, Deeproot champion is our MVP but the other creatures all have prowess so they can help with our aggressive game, Our sideboard has a lot of options, but we do have to keep our land count in mind as we develop that. I've thought a few different cards that could be put in but i would like to hear others ideas as well

so uh just my 2 cents but i like Collective blessing that hits and with a broad enough board you either win stabilize or give yourself a leg up also cryptolith rite would be ridiculous in this deck

i feel like pillowforting i.e. ghostly prison propaganda is a flavor win since sphinxes are traditionally gatekeepers and such and you have to do a task or answer a riddle to get past. i'm gonna start working on a similar deck so i'll be posting it soon but this idea excites me for sure

Ok, so leaving out on the blue/anti-blue debate (I actually may build a Jalira deck, but I understand the hate that blue engenders), I read the article referenced in the OP, and I have to say I disagree with one of his lessons, that you don't have to always win at Magic. My philosophy on etiquette in Magic can be easily summed up as "Build to be a member of the group, never the tormentor or doormat, but ALWAYS play to win." I don't ever pull punches, even on baby seals. Of course, that means you have to go into an unknown situation/LGS sometimes willing to have a mismatch and then adjust if you like their play, but I always play to win, in every game I play. To do anything less robs the ultimate winner of the validity of their win. Nothing is more condescending and patronizing than giving a win out like a participation award. I may choose not to knock the baby seal out first for strategy reasons (after all, it helps them by giving time to draw an answer, but also allows you to focus on bigger threats first), but it is still my intent to kill them, too.

In general i agree playing to win can be fun but turn 5 swinging your 64/64 khalonia hydra at the player stuck at 2 lands isn't much fun for anyone. Commander is designed to be a casual format with interesting interactions playing to win asap can take that away from anyone. sure you can infinite combo turn three but will anyone want to play with you again, hell no. because at that point your creating a toxic lack of interaction. Playing the game to play the game, winning in cool ways that make the other players go "hey i've never seen that before" thats where commanders heart is not with winning asap just to win

at the sametime that being concerned over a blue player over other players is rude but often completely acceptable in most situations. Out of the colors Blue is going to force other people out of the game and take "control" of the game thats why we consider blue to be the control color. sure its never fair to be forced out of the game because of your commander but at the same time a solid blue deck that's had 9 turns either has already combo-ed out or is preventing boards from interacting. A common player in my group runs Edric Spymaster of trest you HAVE to kill him before turn 5 or he's already won, Azami is another common one and again turn 6 or 7 they've won. Not a lot of decks can do that if they're not in blue because of infinite turns. almost all other infinite combos can be dealt with. infinite creatures? kay i'll wrath. infinite life? welp i just need to disrupt and start whittling you down thanks Beast within for letting me disrupt. infinite mana welp i can force your hand into the graveyard through any number of ways. infinite turns tho. There's not much that a non blue player can do against infinite turns. knowing a deck and the combos in it create a good reason to target specificly i might let the azami deck play around a bit if edric is out and i might let other decks run around if a good meren deck is up. but targetting players can be neccesary if you want a strong game
