So you think they would just leave it there as a failsafe? I would agree with that for a while, but if the number of sets redeemed falls below the threshold to print the sets I could easily see them nixing it. Many of us have suspected that has been their goal for a while.
I pulled up MTGgoldfish looking at the T8 decklists from the PT and thought it strange that the online prices were within 10-15% of paper. I know that most of these cards are chase and that the redeemable set value is still far below (stabilize at 20% +25 usually) paper prices but it seems to me that with pack prices stabilized by only giving out packs as prizes for some limited events the prices for chase constructed cards has risen to the point where demand controls the price not redemption.
If this trend continues wotc will nix redemption. Do you think redemption is still critical for MTGO to function or is there more wotc can do tinkering with pack to chest to point payouts to further reduce redemption demand?
If that's the case won't it increase post release demand for boxes since boxes will again be the only way to get paper sets?
Interesting. Do you still try to power out an early Angler, or do you play more like ub control?
Was chainers that useful? You have a lot of cards that use the yard did you find yourself delaying delves?
Why Angler in this shell rather than a more traditional ub package?
Mobile site is unmanageable garbage. After fighting for 10 min I managed to add 2 Beta Dark Ritual but couldn't figure out how to add Wastes. Seriously. These Jokers want money??
You are correct. Wizards has updated it's shipping methods and I have reflected their new wording in the FAQ.
I think that's a very good sign. Promoted trades are so much better than bounties and I think people want Puca to work. People are willing to take the risk if the payout is high enough.
I watched The Deck Tech this morning and I'm wondering why Mulch? I dislike forcing all the lands to your hand.
Confidence will come back like a wave. Do you think people are exploiting the large disparity between 100 points and a dollar? Ie, I can send off stuff for 60% promotion and then get it back in a few months for 10%?
Also does this seem like the perfect way to "trade down" If you can send a Goyf that cost you $85 for 13000 points you could get back a ton of 100-200 point cards with a wide buy list.
With that said, it may be a long time before we see high dollar cards being sent without promotion. The system didn't really give incentives to trade down before unless you thought a reprint was coming. Now that they are there they might stick.
It's about time. Only guy I like less that has had his hand in the pot is Tom Lapille
A store that is trying to move a lot of volume or has the market to move a lot of volume will pay more. That's why everybody raged against Star city a few years back because they were buy listing Legacy Staples above sell/ebay rates. They needed those cards to take the tournament so they were paying a premium and charging and premium because they had the market.
If you need to give a 20% bonus on a standard card I'm thinking that the site it's still too inflated for my taste. I know I could get bonuses trading stuff away and maybe I should try that first, but I can't see buying back in until the inflation is fixed
games.I which Wizards would update that UI a little bit and bring it into the client even if you were still stuck on those intro decks. It is what it is.
If you are relatively new to the game and have only played standard I don't really recommend playing pauper unless you want to learn an eternal format. Once you learn the interface you can decide whether you want to build your collection through limited or simply buy a standard deck. Your budget will determine that.
