I absolutely love Phantasmal Image in this deck, he gives extra utility since he can flash in from hand (with Vial) or from the grave (with command) to give hexproof or indestructible and my experience with Æther Vial has made me a fan of the card, 24 creatures is a fine number for it imho and it has won me several games by leaving up both it and mana up for instant shenanigans.
The second I get some real matches with this deck i'll start posting my results and changes (unless you guys are fine with random Xmage matches that are sometimes kind of weird).
Hey guys, I like how this brew is coming and wanted to add my input in my testing so far.
I have been trying out a bit of a trasformative side board plan, going into mid range if the opposing deck is good against my aggro plan.
First off the main board.
As far as I can tell by my tests this is the most explosive opening list, there can be made an argument for replacing insolent neonate with thornbow archer. But the two drop section must stay as is (before sideboard that is), the power of costless discard is crazy, and ravenous bloodseeker is able to do wonders at both your and your opponents turn.
The sideboard is experimental still but usually I take out the insolent neonate and falkenrath gorger for the discard cards and languish, afterwards, I take out pieces as I see fit for the specific MU for the rest of the board.
I will welcome any and all questions and suggestions you are willing to offer, of course if you think my idea is bad I would like to know why and how to improve on it.
