IANAL, but if you make a statement about what you're going to do in the future, and someone loses money because they bought something which lost value because you changed your mind you could be sued for that. They would have to show that there were damages in order to have standing to sue, but it isn't impossible.
The value of a case is mostly going to be driven by the fetchlands, it looks like. If we assume that and use the frequency of a mythic rare replacing a rare of 4.5 times per box on average, we could say you'd get 31.5 rares per box, or 189 rares per case. There are 53 rares that can go into those slots, 5 of which are fetchlands, so we can say there's about a 9.4 percent chance that a given rare slot will have a fetchland in it. We could then multiply this chance by the number of rare slots you can expect, which gives you 17.8, or roughly 18 fetchlands per case. According to TCGplayer.com, the median price for Polluted Delta, the current value leader among the KTK fetchlands, is 19.99. If we assume that you get an optimal result, which is all of your expected fetches being Polluted Delta, you would get 18 of them, or about 360 dollars worth of fetchlands. Given that cards like the fetchlands whose values are known to go down in price after a reprint as more supply is added to the market, and that you're more likely to get a blend of deltas and other, less valuable fetches, it doesn't make much sense to buy a case unless you're not strictly looking to get the most for your money. It's possible that increased demand from the fetches being available to modern and standard will counteract the downward pressure exerted on the price of the fetches created by KTK being opened, but it seems unlikely that that would be enough to give you a profit in the unlikely event that it happened.
