Dont you think that there should be no preview of a prerelease at all, meaning no one know the cards in advance ?

I think it is much more fun that way, and I know it is a great advantage to read cards in advance because then you have to spend way less time deciphering cards and its' (sometimes horrible) words/wordings.

Oh, I love the pre-release period and think prior knowledge of the card pool is necessary before competing. What I meant above is that it seems like there's a lull between the end of spoilers and the actual pre-release weekend where wizards should amplify some upcoming product information. Their stated reason for not doing so is "we want to keep folks attention on the new set about to drop," but I think it's actually the perfect time to keep enthusiasm, momentum, and conversation for upcoming products going.
And your stated reason for doing so would be "to keep folks attention on the new set about to drop". Who is more correct ?

Just get rid of the prespoiling completetly, no one knows in advance what the pre release brings of cards, maybe it is phyrexians and maybe it is dimoloshigans (they havent used them yet), or something else.

It is so exciting to not know what is inside that parcel...

I think I've seen almost every single player I play against put his lands into the deck to take them out of a pile. I do this almost every game. This is not cheating. You shuffle afterwards. It's not a big deal. If you call a judge on a person for this you're the cheater.

    wut

If you shuffle afterwards then why bother doing it in the first place? If it makes no difference then why are you doing it? If it does make a difference then..well, that's stacking your deck, which is cheating.

I've had an opponent mana weave in between games before, I called the judge over and had them explain to them why they shouldn't be doing it (because, again, either they're wasting their and my time or they are cheating) and that was that. That means I was cheating...how?
It is cheating because the judge might end up seeing it as cheating when it isn't, which they often do when the DQ looms at the back of a discussion.

The hardcore mtg geeks go straight to archetype build after spending 1 minute cracking the booster folios at the prereleases.

Thankyou. shame it doesnt work like that though. But i guess that it would make the chimera completely broken.

Well, you can always use Homeward Path after exchanging control of the spell but before it resolves. That goes a bit into strategy talk though so is unsuitable in this subforum.
I think it is important that the moderators does not see this as unsuitable. Because now you will have an extra thread popping up in mtg-general/whatever other forum. Having such extra threads popping up is spam for the forum. Much more spam than what a post(or even so little as a paragraph/sentence inside a post) inside a thread is/would be.
