I'm a little tired of the Super Friends story arc, so I'm hoping this spells the deaths of a lot of planeswalkers.
Though I know it won't.
It probably will, but they will just be some randos who show up on either side. Or some lesser but interesting characters while the main but bland ones stay...
This card stands out to me as surprisingly complex for a common, enough so that I'm surprised it's being printed in a standard set in the "new world order"
Could it be that this is a rare example of a card having its rarity lowered for limited play?
That would seem to be the case, it would be completely useless in limited at uncommon.
Advisor tribal mill Relentless Rats variant. Even with all of the craziness in this set, I think this is the weirdest card spoiled yet.
EDIT: Hold on, nickname idea:
Relentless Bureaucrats
The type was likely chosen specifically to be non-tribal, just like crested sunmare. As it is, it's almost as if it required copies of itself with some slight room for other cards. Imagine this in a tribe that is actually supported, like merfolk...
Forgotten gods... So does the Apocalypse Pig have some divine buddies who could play a role in the next set? That would be an interesting turn of events. After all, Bolas has used gods as a tool before...
Well, it does work, if you can get around the insane mana requirement... And now I am tempted to actually try to pull it off.
How does it work? The card clearly states non-token.
If you have three copies of this (or non-token clones), you get as many triggers of mirror march as you want, eventually overrunning your opponent.
Say you have beastie A. Then you add beastie B and have A ride it. Add beastie C, have B ride it, return A, have C ride it, retun B...
This is clearly flavored as a bunch of guys riding a huge beast, but what I see are etb/leave shenanigans.
Also, three of those can take turns riding each other infinitely.
More likely Bolas + Piggy vs everyone, considering that the Gruul are allied with him. Unless, of course, the piggy proves to be too smash-happy and breaks Bolas' plan as well...
