Love it!
I can't help but feel it would be more fun if you were forbidden from using the card's name as a descriptor... Aside from pissing off one's opponent, there would be no reason to list any other characteristics. Not being allowed to simply name the required card would force the user to not only have a good working knowledge of the cards in their deck, but also to give a more detailed description of the required card to ensure they get the right one.
Hence why I asked where he was planning on travelling. Chances are most stereotypes are true somewhere in the country. That said, don't bother packing your kangaroo-riding pants or extra shrimp for the barbie.
Seriously though, do you know where in Australia he's planning to visit? As a general rule the natives (I'm assuming by this you mean Australians, not Aborigines specifically) are pretty easy-going.
So, what does everyone think of being back in Ravnica? I'm stoked, although it bugs me that I haven't had the opportunity to actually try out any of the new cards. Loving what I've read of Rakdos so far. I tried mocking up a cheap BRG aggro deck, but goldfishing has proven a bit awkward so far. I think I've just been out of the game too long, I've lost my instinct for what would get a pass mark. :/
Welcome back too! *glomps Castle* cookie? *holds out cookie* :cookie:Cheers *shakes hands with cookie*
I thought I'd dispense with the grand entrance this time, probably safer just to acknowledge the fact that I come and go fairly randomly these days (although perhaps "these years" might be more apt). I now have a reliable Internet connection at home, so hopefully being able to use an actual keyboard (*sheds a joyful tear in the face of sweet mercy*) instead of my iPhone will assist me in contributing more often.
I'm absolutely certain that my wording is riddled with errors (the rules have probably changed since I last played anyway), and most likely there a couple of rules issues such as memory that have to be dealt with. That's for you guys to sort out, I'm not even going to try.
EDIT: Also requires a new name that doesn't look so much like "forecast" at a glance.
Perhaps "primalcast"? The feel I was trying to get across is that it's internal mana that not everyone knows they have. It's primal, instinctive and raw.
I've missed you guys too. I really do hope I'll be able to stay active this time.
EDIT: Considering I've been gone so long and the clan has continued to grow in the meantime, I should probably introduce myself properly to the newer members.
My name's James (or Jim/Jimmy/Jimbo), I've played MtG since the early nineties but have well and truly lost track of the game in the last couple of years. I consider myself reasonably old-school, but this may just be an excuse for being crap at any aspect of the game that's come to prominence in the last decade. My favourite colours are green, black, red and white in that order. My favorite decks are my RG beatdown, WB highlander, GB fungus and WG Lightning Coils decks. Blue is, in my opinion, the antithesis of fun, the only exception to that rule being my mono-blue Sligh deck.
Outside of MtG, I'm passionate about music, football (Australian Rules, not gridiron, rugby or soccer), food & wine, as well as the motor industry. I value friendship and honesty above most things, and despite my long absence I genuinely consider many members of this clan to be friends. On that note, I'd like to go on record in saying how stoked I am that the clan's still going strong - Kudos to Seth and Silence, the Pack is in good hands.
I like nothing more than a joke, so please don't take offense at anything I say that might seem a little off-colour. I also have occasionally lapsed into proxy father-figure mode, and I can't imagine that this will have changed since actually becoming a father.
Also, I'm so far behind on MtG that it's seriously hard to keep up on some of the discussions, but I'll do my best. You'll just have to forgive me if I occasionally turn into the MTGSalvation equivalent of the old-timer rocking on his porch with a shotgun, pining for the old days (and occasionally yelling at kids to get off the damn lawn).
Great to hear that you're still enjoying your theatre. Been in any good productions lately?
Me either, but I saw Chess Magic and couldn't immediately think of anything cooler.
Foundation clan member, former clan rep and leader. But you can call me James.
Thanks. It's Tattermunge Maniac, enchanted by Rancor and targeted by Psychotic Fury. Zaph did the photoshopping.
Hi guys! Life's been good, but I'm so tired it's ridiculous. Who would have thought parenthood would place such demands on your time? Not that Audrey's a handful, she's absolutely perfect... Almost fourteen months old now, sleeping right through every night and very happy during the day. She can say a few words now (Mum, Dad, Nan, cat, up and that), and took her first steps yesterday morning!
On the flip side, I wake up every morning with either a Wiggles song or a children's TV show theme stuck in my head that can't be dislodged until after lunch, and even then it's usually replaced by another Wiggles song.
How's everyone here?
P.S. You shouldn't be that surprised to see me, Seth... It was the friend requests from you and Silence that brought me back.
How the he'll is everyone? It feels like an eternity since I dropped by.
I've always gone for a more machine-type combo deck, every time I've tried to play anything like Storm I'd find myself getting bored during my own turn.
