    Hey guys,

I am a pretty casual magic player and wanted to make a werewolf deck with all the new stuff that came out. I started playing when Oath of Gatewatch came out, so I don't know a lot of the older cards. I am building a red/green werewolf deck, and I wanted some opinions on it, and maybe suggestions on other cards I can use. I have a jeskai deck, so I know some red cards, but I've never built green before.

    Daybreak Ranger x2
    Full Moon's Rise x2
    Howlpack Resurgence x2
    Lambholt Elder x2
    Mondronen Shaman x2
    Moonlight Hunt x3
    Natural Connection x2
    Rabid Bitex 3
    Reckless Waif x3
    Scorned Villager x3
    Seek the Wildsx2
    Silverfur Partisan x2
    Sure Strike x3
    Swell of Growth x3
    Wolfbitten Captive x2
    Lightning Bolt x3

This is the meat of the deck. I will also add 22 lands for 61 card total. I was thinking of Blighted Woodland , Gruul Turf, and kessig Wolf Run as some of the special lands. Maybe two of each.
So, any suggestions are welcome. I know there are a lot of green cards I don't know. I even have one from the new set with deathtouch that I might throw in there. The name escapes me right now.

I mostly want help with the non-creature spells and creatures that would help from older sets, before I started playing that would help fuel the deck. I'm looking through databases to see what helps. I bought a box of this new set, so I have most of the werewolf type creatures, even the ones i don't have posted up here. The creatures, I will play around with and change as I build the deck.

Oh, sorry, I thought I put this in general - deckbuilding. Can the mods move this thread there, or do I have to jsut copy and paste it over there and start a new one, closing this one?

    Hey guys,

I am a newish player and just wanted to check on two things.

    1) The effect of prowess - it goes off every time that I activate a spell. Or is it limited once per turn?

    2) I was playing in a game where I had ojutai exemplars and attacked. my opponent played a spell that destroys an attacking creature. I played a spell so I could activate ojutai exemplars effect to Exile Ojutai Exemplars, then return it to the battlefield tapped under its owner's control. Is the timing of this right, or is my effect too slow? And, if he played another spell to target them again because they come right back, I can play another spell and exile them again, right?

Also, as a 2b, since he comes back tapped, that cancel's out the attack, right? I'm pretty sure, but since he was attacking, I wanted to make sure before I stop declaring an attack that would give me an advantage.

Also, quick additional question, so that I may have the terminology and the phases of play right:

In that scenario, my creauture with a +1/+1 counter was tapped. I would have to say, "Before your attack becomes legal, I play dance of the skywise on my character, so that way, jeskai ascendancy untaps my creature and it can block, correct? And at this point, he can't choose to not attack.

Thanks for the help with the ruling, guys. I am just a casual player. My best friend moved back home and he loves this game. I got a deck mostly to play with him, so sometimes I need an outside source to show him how rulings really are.

    Hello,

This came up the other day and after looking up the rulings on this, my friend and I are at a disagreement.

This concerns the interaction between a couple of cards:

    Dance of the Skywise
    Jeskai Ascendancy
    and a creature with a +1/+1 token.

He had a Thunderbreak Regent and attacked. I had a weak monster on the field with a +1/+1 token and jeskai ascendancy on the field. I played dance of the skywise on my monster. Jeskai Ascendancy untaps him, so he can block. Now, The question arose because he said that Dance of the skywise's effect would make the creature a 4/4 and it wouldn't matter that jeskai ascendancy gives a +1/+1 boost or the creature itself had a +1/+1 token. I looked up the rulings and found these

2/25/2015 Dance of the Skywise overrides all previous effects that set the creature’s power or toughness to specific values. However, effects that set its power or toughness to specific values that start to apply after Dance of the Skywise resolves will override this effect.
2/25/2015 Effects that modify the power or toughness of the creature, such as the effects of Giant Growth or Hall of Triumph, will apply to it no matter when they started to take effect. The same is true for counters that change the creature’s power or toughness (such as +1/+1 counters) and effects that switch its power and toughness.

Some of these would apply, but he also said that the first ruling favors his about it staying a 4/4. I ask someone for a clear answer. Would my creature be more than a 4/4 from the jeskai boost or it's counter? Or is he right and it's only a 4/4?

    Hello,

I am a casual player who only has one deck and only play with one friend because he is a big magic fan. I have bought a deck and since then customized it to my liking. It is a tri-colored decck of white, red and blue. It has a lot of the jeskai cards and the mantis rider. I have added some lightning bolts, and other cards to make it able to keep up. I have been looking for an answer online, but being new and not sure where to go.

Edit: I read most of the rules about this website, and hope I have done wverything correctly. If this post doens't belong here, but in rules, I apologize. Let me know and I will repost there.
