2: For people running Thing in the ice what is your counter suit? (i'm only running 2 leak main but I side into 4 counterspells)
3: Thoughts on some unconventional removal like Burst Lightning mainboard as a 1 of for small creatures (can dome for 4 later in the game) or Psionic Blast (probably too painful on our life but can dome for 4 or deal with 4 toughness creatures)
4: does anyone run dreadbore mainbord as a 1 of? If you do is the sorcery speed removal too much of a draw back?
I can answer your Thing in the Ice and Dreadbore question. For the first one, I have two mana leaks and a remand in main with a dispel and spell pierce in side. The remand isn't very necessary though.
As for Dreadbore, I use 3 terminates and 2 Dreadbore because I found it hasn't mattered too much about which turn I cast it. I suggest having 1 main or at least in side. My meta has a fair amount of torn players so I get good use out of it but it manages to perform just as well against aggro decks.
I'm still having trouble deciding what to main deck as threats. Currently I run
4 snapcaster
2 Tasigur
2 Pia and Kiran
2 Kalitas
2 Jace, Architect
I like Kalitas but it's really good in some match ups and just meh in others
Vision seems ok as a 2 or 3 of but I'm not trying to drop 150 for cards that might not even be that great. The GDD interaction is sweet but 5 mana is steep.
So as of now I'm main decking 3 inquis, 2 mana leak, 2 negate, 2 remand. Looking for space to use spell snare if it ends up being good in this new format
Side 2 Thoughtsieze for match ups where theyre necessary, side 3 dispel because it's absolutely amazing against burn, company/chord, and any control type of mirror. Super worth it and I love it.
How would you guys approach building without AV?
I don't think you need the Jace's in there. Personally I prefer Ashiok or Prodigy Jace as more preferable. Thing in the Ice might be good.
So what kind of position do you all think Delver will be in with the new meta? Seeing as things will probably slow down a bit, I'm thinking it's going to be good for us. Only time will tell.
I think it'll do well. I've been trying a version with Thing in the Ice and it has been doing well in my playtests. I am thinking about trying out the card Hunted Horror with it but I don't think it'll be as good.
i dont think we want AV. cheap cantrips that scry are what delver wants, lets you set up your delver, gives pyro tokens the turn you drop him, and all around fits our game plan of drop a clock asap then protect it and ride to victory. while the grixis variants are capable of playing the grind game, giving up your early game tempo speed maindeck is bad vs most of the meta
With a Turn1 Thought Scour, Tasigur and Angler can be played on your second turn.
Tombstalker cannot.
Plus the double black is very bad in your early turns and if you want to play it in the late game then I think P&K or Kalitas are better then.
I mean, it looks like it was built for our deck. T1 Delver, T2 play and equip. Problem is if the delver flips on T2 upkeep. This would be the one time you wish it didnt flip so early.
Maybe worth testing... I don't think it'll be worthwhile in the long run. Thing in the Ice would be much better in my opinion.
Are you saying we should play Pia and Kiran Nalaar over Kalitas? I am still deciding between the two, the only issue I am having is that double black is really hard to achieve without messing with the manabase a little bit.
my personal opinion is that TiTi invalidates the need for non 2 drop creatures. im going to be testing 4 vryn, 4 TiTi, 3 snapcaster moving towards the invitational.
TiTi seems over-hyped. I don't see it making a huge impact in modern, considering you can abrupt decay it at any point.
their 2 mana removal for my 2 mana investment is a 1-for-1 trade. If facing BGx you can sideboard into alternate threats like Tasigur, Angler or PKN.
Stating that a 2 drop can be abrupt decayed is silly. Dark Confidant can be Abrupt decayed at any point, doesn't stop it being played. TITI likewise has a payoff that comes, albeit slower than Dark Confidant, but literally beats the opponent to death as a reward for nothing but playing control.
I like TiTi a lot. I'm going to use the Nalaar family over Kalitas simply because of the chum blockers that are immediately there and you can use them to hit face in late game.
I have a question regarding fetchlands: currently, I'm experimenting with Tom Ross' deck list that was posted a page or two ago. He's running 4 Misty Rainforest, among other green fetchlands. Does Misty Rainforest add any specific benefits to the deck, or would any green fetchland, like Wooded Foothills or Windswept Heath, confer the same benefits? It seems to me that as long as it can fetch a green source, any green fetch would suffice and reduce the price of the deck a whole lot. Thanks!
Only if you want to get basic lands because you're facing a deck as fast as you.
So what do people think will happen now that the Eldrazi are missing?
That's a good question. There are a lot of places the story could go with that.
Overlays start to happen naturally, as planes aren't dying off fast enough (See: Rath)
Alternatively, planes start dissolving or fracturing because natural entropy isn't happening (See: Alara)
More, previously unknown Eldrazi start swarming to worlds where they sense planeswalkers
Something the Eldrazi kept in check is now freed (See: Metroid Fusion)
That would be cool. But wouldn't overlays have happened while they were trapped?
And if I remember correctly Alara was split by a planeswalker.
I like the idea of something being kept in check. Perhaps it requires the death of a Titan to free something.

Why does the Earth orbit the sun?
I just feel like if you're going to run the lands you should just play Tron. It's more fun when you win the other way too.
Yes and I love it.
What color is light?
