ahhh! I think I understand. So say I cast avenger of zendikar since it has a ETB trigger opponent could destroy it in response to that trigger before I could play a land since the stack is not empty but if they pass and the trigger resolves I could play a land and they could do nothing before that could happen.
and is priority passed to you during their draw step? for the funeral charm example. Thank you for the info. Is this the same instance where I cast a planeswalker on my turn when I have priority, they pass, I pass again, it resolves I get priority back and can activate an ability on the planeswalker or pass. If I pass or do another action not involving the walker they could destroy my walker before I could use an ability? is that correct? guessing I'm just not completely clear when priority is passed. If I cast a spell during main phase one then pass, opponent pass, I pass, resolves. I retain priority but decide to pass, opponent pass, is main phase one over and combat is next or can I cast another sorcery/creature/etc (non-flash)? Thank you for your responses
So assuming I understand properly(which is sometimes not the case) its my opponents turn and they cast elvish mystic I have no response. Once it resolves I cast doom blade since I did not have priority at the time and my opponent does they could play another elvish mystic and that would go under my doom blade on the stack, they can cast this even though its sorcery speed because they technically have priority. I know the outcome in this example is the first mystic is destroyed and barring any interference the second mystic would resolve. But is this how it would have happened? with it not being my turn I cannot legally play an instant unless I have priority, correct? this would matter in many other examples( opponent has one card in hand and its their turn you play funeral charm while they are thinking about their move). Thank you for your response to a heated debate. Also can a card like funeral charm make an opponent discard a freshly draw card somehow? do you as the opponent get priority during their draw but before their main?
So as a player of Jhoira of the Ghitu I'm concerned does Blight Herder and his like turn my suspended bombs into graveyard fodder? Seems a mighty find way to ruin my day, thoughts?
Hi, Opponent plays flickerform on my Meren of Clan Nel Toth (lets assume this is not my commander) if opponent blinks me during my turn the way the end of turn step plays out will I get to return a creature to hand/battlefield? or will that trigger never occur? Also this might fall under the same rule, what if I had a Conjurer's Closet could I bounce Meren of Clan Nel Toth once its returned or the card that returns from the graveyard due to its ability?
ahhh I see now what the discrepancy is! old stuff getting mixed with new. online I found about 50% said you could and the other half said you couldn't. good to know! cheers and thanks for the fast response
11.If a Commander would be put into a library, hand, graveyard or exile from anywhere, its owner may choose to move it to the command zone instead.
But I also see this under the rulings for spell crumble in the gatherer.
9/22/2011 If a commander is countered this way, it will be put on the bottom of its owner's library.
so the question is what am I missing? do cards like condemn and spell crumble allow me to lock up a commander in the library?
