Not everyone playing EmeriaControl or MWC runs Baneslayers. Slant Sure they are a amazing card but the sheer number of times not running it in my deck has saved me is just rediculous. If it was cheaper *shrugs* maybe id throw it in, but at its present cost paying 50$ for something everyone saves a killspell for is just silly.

I use the Sphinx of Jwar isle over Baneslayers. Mostly because by the time I draw a creature most decks have multiple kill spells set up. Throw down the sphinx and if they don't counter it 90% of the time it stays till the end beating them in the face.

Well someone cracked a Priceless Treasure at the prerelease I was at. Apparently it was a Sliver Queen but I didn't have a chance to see it myself as I was in a duel at the time.

The owner beating up the people trying to steal from him *shrugs* its the thieves own fault for trying to steal from them in the first place. Like if you break into a house and get bitten by the family dog. They wouldn't have been hit if they hadnt tried stealing from the players in the first place.

    For the record.

If the door was locked how did they escape.
They were attacked by the owner of the binder and his friend, not the whole store.
I'm assuming by the time the other players had got the owner off the thieves they were already running out of the store.

How long did this fight go on for. Was it him throwing a few punches in anger that his stuff was stolen before they ran off. Or him beating on the thieves while everyone watched for minutes on end. Because in my experience people don't jump into fights unless they either have a stake in the fight or are trying to stop it. The shop owner was probably so stunned by the situation happening in his store that he didn't have time to stop it before it was already over. As he didn't know how to handle the situation he did what would make his customers happiest and handed out the cards he found. It may not be exactly right, but I don't feel its wrong either. *Assuming the cards were owned by the thieves and not stolen themselves*

    Greetings Salvation~

After a long break from MTG I'm finally getting back into it. Or rather I will be at the Zendikar prerelease.

Anyways nobody probably remembers me, so I will look forward to meeting and talking to you all again. See you all around.

sounds like the store owner is a vigalante. like some kind of batman for magic players. anyway, yeah, hes in big trouble if the two offenders ever go to the cops. Personally, i think its what i would want to do if someone stole mine or a friends binder, and i would certainly enjoy taking his stuff for being a complete douche, but it isn't within the law to do so :(.

Somehow the world seems a bit brighter.

In all seriousness though, why are you all assuming that the Thieves owned the folders that they left behind, it is a possibility that they probably had stolen those cards as well. Not to mention anyone stupid enough to go around stealing stuff usually doesn't know enough about the law to go back and charge the guys for assaulting them.

To be honest even if it isn't legal, If someone tried stealing my stuff id beat some sense into them. I'm not saying you should hurt someone seriously for something as silly as a game, yet a good couple hits might make them think twice about stealing in the future.

Also, what sort of self respecting player would get his store in trouble, to help out people who entered it to steal from players. Fair enough if they were seriously hurt but from what the story tells they just got a few hits in then the thieves ran off.

If it was my group and the cops came by to ask what happened id just say this. "They attacked my friend trying to steal his stuff, he defended himself and reclaimed his stuff. Once that was done he let the assailants escape." If they ask about the cards. "Well, it was possible the folders got picked up by someone in the store, do they have any way of proving what folders they had and what was in them." If they don't then theirs not much they can do.

Yet, in the face of it all, it is pretty black-and-white what happened.
    1) Something wrong occurred. (The theft)
    2) The offense was identified and remedied quickly. (Store owner's prevention of escape)
    3) Something wrong occurred. (The beating)

Uh... So lets assume that the people were slow to get up and couldnt jump the guys straight away. So it gets to step 2, now the owner didnt close the door to stop them from getting out, but to close up shop. So the theives reach the door, open the door and run like the wind *cards never seen again*. Only reason they didnt make it out with the cards is because they hard to stop and once they did the owner of the binder was already on them.

Yes I agree distibuting the cards left behind was wrong but only because they were proably stolen and had real owners somewhere.

Put yourself in the shoes of the player who had their stuff stolen. Its always easy to judge when the situation is happening to you and your looking at it objectivly.

Jace is incredibly powerfull and anyone with even a little bit of talent at spoting good cards can see that. Personly im more fond of Chandra, really the difference at the moment between the walkers is the ways they help, Gurruk helps with mana costs as well as summoning 3/3's and if you need it a alpha strike. Lilanna has discard and a really good multiplayer end ability, our cat walker has life gain and a serra avatar summoner and even tho he is the worst of the walkers (my opinun) still if in the right deck will become dangerous. Chandra ends games she can burn other walkers (puts gurruk back into incinirate range) ping your opponents as well as clear the board and hit them for 10 allowing a alpha strike to finish the job, jace cant really affect the field much but he wasnt ment to, he give card advantage, jace isnt their to finish a game jace is their to let you finish a game faster and easier.

Hmm, its funny how latly the spoilers are making every tribe look awsome...except giants. Im a elemntal player so it doesnt really bother me but all of the tribes so far have "OMG So Powerfull" cards except giants sure they have their legendary but one Lifelinked 4/4 aint gonna be a entire deck. So mabey the rumor gods could give them some help and give the giants some love.

    tribes are
    Boggarts BR
    Giants RW
    Elves GB
    Merfolk UW
    Faries UB
    Kithkin WG
    TreeFolk GWB
    Elementals RWUBG

For morning tide they will either stay the same or add more, chrono as far as i can tell the tribes will not be professions, Warrior Wizard E.G. but races. Dragon, angel, elf. So if they do add 4 more tribes they will be new races.

  • posted a message on [LOR] OFFICIAL Discussion for Preview Cards: 9/11/07: Dread
It all depends on what types of elemental support we get, as it is trible and elementals are a tribe/ apparently one of the more powerful ones we will get ways of supporting these cards. Smokeroller is a good example and thats only one of the Flamekin we have seen. If Elemental decks start throwing down Dread's and Vigor's on turns three and four your opponent wont be to happy, Sure their *** and other such cards but that also kills of every other one of the tribes creatures. So stop thinking about how bad they are in 56 lands and Dreads deck and think about how you could abuse them.

And also as a side note the ability rocks and if your exuse for hateing it is that every time your opponent is attacking its going to somehow kill you making it so he doesnt care that his board is being wiped out you are either really really slow or you need to fight weaker opponents.

Holy cr*p the elf is over powered, like wtf a 1/1 summoner for Gt is bad enough but giving it a elvish champ ability and making it a 2G UNCOMMON, this has got to be a mistake someone check if this is a error.
