white isn't anti-evil... white can be the most evil.... it's just that white is self righteous enough to think that it's unquestionably doing the right thing - religious zealots (i.e. terrorists IRL) are white in magic.
Well, Yeah I think some of the new Phyrexia cards can attest to that. That's also kind of my point though. Urza probably considers himself to be a super righteous person because he is fighting against the evils of Old Phyrexia, despite the fact that he's probably only doing it as an act of revenge for them corrupting Mishra.
If Urza were a Planeswalker in Magic now-a-days what color(s) would he be?
I say he'd be Blue, Red, White.
Blue because he's an artificer
Red because he's obviously an angry and revenge seeking person.
White because I think despite being a vengeful person he is a generally heroic and anti-evil sort of person. (maybe I'm wrong, but Sunglasses of Urza also shift's me in this direction too :P)
Edit: Accidentally placed this in the wrong forum, sorry. Please move it for me mods if you don't mind.
Yeah I've been on the beta with this card and it makes EXT Vanguard completely unplayable due to the fact you will be able to have turn one charbelchers with ease and they simply deal 40 damage everytime because you can play with no lands
But like they said on the beta boards, they are only worried about the STD VAN meta.
Animate Dead
{1}{B}
Enchantment -- Aura
Enchant creature card in a graveyard
When Animate Dead comes into play, if it's in play, it loses "enchant creature card in a graveyard" and gains "enchant creature put into play with Animate Dead." Return enchanted creature card to play under your control and attach Animate Dead to it. When Animate Dead leaves play, that creature's controller sacrifices it.
Enchanted creature gets -1/-0.
Clockwork Beast
{6}
Artifact Creature -- Beast
Clockwork Beast comes into play with seven +1/+0 counters on it.
At end of combat, if Clockwork Beast attacked or blocked this turn, remove a +1/+0 counter from it.
{X}, {T}: Put up to X +1/+0 counters on Clockwork Beast. This ability can't cause the total number of +1/+0 counters on Clockwork Beast to be greater than seven. Play this ability only during your upkeep.
Oubliette
{1}{B}{B}
Enchantment
When Oubliette comes into play, remove target creature and all Auras attached to it from the game. Note the number and kind of counters that were on that creature.
When Oubliette leaves play, return the removed card to play under its owner’s control tapped with the noted number and kind of counters on it. If you do, return the removed Aura cards to play under their owner’s control attached to that permanent.
Tawnos's Coffin
{4}
Artifact
You may choose not to untap Tawnos’s Coffin during your untap step.
{3}, {T}: Remove target creature and all Auras attached to it from the game. Note the number and kind of counters that were on that creature. When Tawnos’s Coffin leaves play or becomes untapped, return the removed card to play under its owner’s control tapped with the noted number and kind of counters on it, and if you do, return the removed Aura cards to play under their owner’s control attached to that permanent.
I wouldn't mind seeing them reprint promo versions of the p9 that would be sick
as for the Tarmo I happen to think its too soon of a reprinting for it to have any significant effect on the prices. I honestly doubt its price will be phased at all or a dollar or two at the most =/
Well no not exactly this doesn't mean its Lorwyn or any book in the cycle for that matter it just says its for a cover.
I know Todd Lockwood had Niv-Mizzet (the art) up on his site back when BoK was out (or at least thats how early I remember it but my memory might be skewed)
Edit: Amazon has been updated so here is the Lorwyn Book Cover
Honestly, none of what you said have to be true. With infinite possibilities, there is a chance for any of those things.
But you're mainly wrong with "no Phyrexians statement".
Also, Urza had its own spark, so developing magic, I think that there would be even more chances for him to become planeswalker. (things like some Magical battle, even with Mishra, cuz they had strong tendency of competing). After all, I think that their story could be very similiar to the one we know.
There really wouldn't have been Phyrexian during the Brothers' War at all if they hadn't ruptured the power crystal (Where the Might/Weak Stones came from) that was used to keep Phyrexian out of Dominaria... Obviously they didn't have anyother way or else they most likely would have done it when the Thran still existed...
As for the Spark thing, that is true... but then again there is also a pretty HUGE chance that Urza's death wouldn't have been such a stressful event that it would have ignited his spark. So it would be more likely to NOT have Urza's Planeswalker than it WOULD be. I mean the blast from something like the sylex is WAY more cataclysmic than any sort of elemental magic would cause, plus I doubt that with the absense of the Might/Weak stones the brothers' would have gotten along to live long fulfilling lives. Really if you think about it I doubt there was really much in that time period to really cause such an effect to ignite a planeswalkers spark even with Elemental magic.
I get what you're saying about there still exists the possibility for such things, but I was just rolling the possible story line, for the Brothers', in this alternate reality and I really don't think those events would take place. *my 2 cents*
I was looking at the Planar Chaos card Primal Plasma and reading the flavor text, it really got me to thinking.... what would magic be like today if Urza and Mishra worked with elemental magic rather than Artifacts...
1) No Phyrexians
2) No Brothers war (unless for some other reason apart from the fighting over the stones, then it would be a battle of elementals)
3) No Invasion
4) No Urza Planeswalker...
5) Mishra still living
Among many other things....
This makes me want to think up a whole bunch of alternate plotlines to be truthfully honest =)
I want to recommend that people not use WotC plot characters and turn them into cards.... not for any legal issues (although you might face some never know these days) but for the simple fact that most people misinterpret a character and really mess with who the character is. Not only that but also its sort of disrespectful in my opinion to the original creators of said character..
I had not thought about comparing him to Mishra's actual card that is neat though.

Doubtful.... but you never know...
They never printed any other special decks on MTGO thus my reasoning but I wish they would
But like they said on the beta boards, they are only worried about the STD VAN meta.

Of course it doesn't specify for what book but I figured we could speculate.
MTGOTraders.com or /addbuddy "MTGO Traders" and talk to them they will be happy to oblige.

I imagine that even with the Mana drain effect of the rifts they'd still have to worry about the crazy stuff warping in from alternate realities...
