So Pedro Carvalho wrote an article about his deck talking about how to play it and sideboarding, it's pretty neat. He also updated the sideboard for a temptative one that is prepared for mirror and the new meta
@Aoutp I don't know if you are making a standard deck, but if you do I'm pretty sure that Borderland Marauder is not standard legal, because it haven't been reprinted for standard, it's only legal for modern because it's was printed in the M15 and Eternal Masters edition only
Someone just recommended a card to me that seems absolutely amazing - and I can't believe I don't see it being discussed here (and I can't believe it's only a 50c rare right now)
Consistent damage OR card advantage OR land filtering (because opponents will have you put lands in the GY for free which frees up your regular draw for something else). Also he's got Menace, which prevents a lone blocker from dealing with it.
Thoughts? It's pretty much a must-remove threat, which is something Red decks lack a lot of.
@GW2GuruUser7586 sadly Sin Prodder is not that good, because it can be exiled by Spell Queller or can be returned to your hand by Reflector Mage loosing your turn 3.
Thermo-Alchemist does look interesting. Could this interaction be possible?
T2 cast Alchemist, pass the turn. Opponent does his thing passes back. T3 on upkeep, tap alchemis for 1 point > untap step > draw > tap alchemist for 1 point > cast Firecraftt > untap alchemist > tap alchemist for 1 point.
Hi @kpal. In order to avoid confusion, I want to make clear that the order in the beginning of the turn aren't like you said, instead it should be like this:
Untap Step
Upkeep Step
Draw Step
And there's no priority in the Untap Step, so you can't play abilities or spells until Upkeep Step.
502.3. No player receives priority during the untap step, so no spells can be cast or resolve and no abilities can be activated or resolve. Any ability that triggers during this step will be held until the next time a player would receive priority, which is usually during the upkeep step. (See rule 503, “Upkeep Step.”)
I don't know if something like this will be screw the mana base, I know I'am losing utility lands, but I think that is a small cost to pay in order to do 3 damage to the board, because Kozilek's Return doesn't work against aristocrats or bant company.
With this land configuration the idea is to get 19 R, 14 C, 5 U and 5 W for a Radiant Flames that can deal often 2 damage and sometimes 3 damage. What do yo think?
@Darksch81, I like the idea of playing Radiant Flames instead of Kozilek's Return in sideboard, but if you doesn't play with the 4 copies of Shivan Reef and 4 copies of Battlefield Forge I think it will be very rare to play it for 3 damage even for 2 damage is going to be difficult, the bad thing is I don't know what to replace without screw the utility lands.
I love your idea of a mono red with Reality Smasher, but IMHO i would advice you to replace 3 Rogue's Passage for Shivan Reef because you are playing 20 cards that requires RR and maybe you will found difficult to play them in some circumstances and also gives consistency to the deck.
Have you think about the sideboard? Maybe some Eldrazi Obligator could be a good call, because of all the eldrazi decks that are being playing.
I don't know how would performance mono red with this standard, but I think that adding a B or G color to be tapped every turn isn't a good option either, I feel that the answer is in the colorless C.
I like Vessel of Volatility but i feel like we are loosing our turn 2 creature for having a turn 3 Goblin Dark-Dwellers with no card to replay, wasting the card potential, and I haven't found any other good card to play it in turn 3 for 5 five mana that could give us a big aggro response, maybe a Reality Smasher could be a good call??
I agree with all of you, i feel like Castigator will be played, but i don't feel it would be used in main, but probably it will fit more in sideboard to use it against decks that doesn't use red or make too much damage.
Thanks @actionandy for your sideboard
On the other hand, no one has talked about the 1st place in the PPTQ Lincoln which was a big red played by Tom Maxwell
Congratulations @actionandy, would you like to share your sideboard? did you have trouble agains collected company decks? or against decks with Sylvan Advocate

Wow is good to know that! Thanks @Aoutp! :)!
Maybe it will be necessary to kill Ishkanah, Grafwidow?

1 Needle Spires
1 Wandering Fumarole
4 Shivan Reef
4 Battlefield Forge
4 Foundry of the Consuls
2 Westvale Abbey
PD: After some math I can see that getting the third color is very unlikely, you will need at least 12 mana sources of each color
Also, can you told us why are you using Matter Reshaper? It is only to draw cards or is some kind of respond to Declaration in Stone??
@kpal, thanks for the explanation of how you use Endbringer (I didn't have a clue XD)
Overall I really feel that we need a good response agains't the meta, maybe add some Eldrazi Displacer and Corrupted Crossroads with Battlefield Forge to get the white without screwing our mana?
Have you think about the sideboard? Maybe some Eldrazi Obligator could be a good call, because of all the eldrazi decks that are being playing.

You can't use Consuming Sinkhole on Westvale Abbey because when it transform it is a "Demon creature" not a land creature, I think a better call will be Crumble to Dust.
I don't know how would performance mono red with this standard, but I think that adding a B or G color to be tapped every turn isn't a good option either, I feel that the answer is in the colorless C.
Thanks @actionandy for your sideboard
On the other hand, no one has talked about the 1st place in the PPTQ Lincoln which was a big red played by Tom Maxwell
Here's the Tom Maxwell's Deck list
3 Zurgo Bellstriker
3 Lightning Berserker
4 Monastery Swiftspear
3 Mardu Scout
4 Abbot of Keral Keep
4 Thunderbreak Regent
23 Mountain
Spells
4 Wild Slash
4 Draconic Roar

2 Hordeling Outburst
1 Outpost Siege
1 Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker
3 Arc Lightning
3 Dragon Fodder
2 Fiery Impulse

I personally found that the Hordeling Outburst and maybe other card like Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker can be replaced for Flamewake Phoenix and the Dragon Fodder in the side could be replaced for something else. What do you think about?
